It has been a long five years and a lot has changed for me. I am now teaching 3 days a week at the National School of Blacksmithing in Hereford and will have more time to explore video projects again.
Glad to have you back! You have always been one of my biggest inspirations in my own craft, since most of your videos focus on the types of historical ironworks that interest me most. Looking forward to learning alot more from you again!
Brilliant news. Couldn't quite believe it when I saw the thumbnail. I thought I must have misremembered a previous video. To find out it's new and you'll possibly be posting more has cheered me right up. All the very best to you
I can't believe You're back. So much in fact, that i mistook this video for someone elses and left it for later. So glad so finally hear of You again. Last time, someone got an update of you, was about 3 years or so back. and honestly with all that happened in those years, I am so happy to know you're alive, yet alone filming again!
Welcome back , I first started to watch your content several years ago, I started losing my sight ,and enjoyed just listening to your description of the work progressing, I now have full sight once again so look forward to seeing new projects, glad your back and happy you are still producing objects.
Day made! Just finished a long day making molds and spotted this video on my feed. Nothing better than a cuppa coffee and a new @RowanTaylor video. Looking forward to many more
Great to have you back on here Rowan. I, like the rest, thought you had quit or something. You have been sorely missed and I for one, look forward to much more from your very skilled hands. I'm working more and more with wrought iron, thanks to you. 😊👍Cheers from downunda.
Sorry I'm a little late, but you posted this video while everybody was sleeping over here plus it took me a minute to realize this wasn't a video I had missed from 5 years ago. Great to have you back, you have been missed.
My God he's back!!! Ive always recognized you as one of the top three smiths on TH-cam in teaching ability, skill, and character! So glad you're back!!! Myself, as many others here, have really come a long way since last seeing your videos - I'm now president of a regional blacksmith non-profit club and, now living in my dream home of a 5 acre lot with outbuildings for the hobbies, ive got a dedicated 20ft x 40ft blacksmith shop! Please keep up the excellent work!!!! Cheers!
I saw your name in my TH-cam notifications and had to immediately watch. I remember forging a rush light after watching one of your videos. I was a beginner then and now I work as a blacksmith at a museum shop in a local park. I get paid to forge, entertain park visitors and teach to school field trips. How good is that?! We’ve missed you.
@@officinaferraria yes, I know what you mean. I have been lucky and privileged to learn the stuff I know, and I owe it to many people and I am keen to continue sharing that knowledge.
It's great to see you back Rowan, You've been missed! I've probably learned more from your videos than all the other youtubers combined! The projects you choose demonstrate a far wider set of genuinely useful skills and techniques than the usual youtube blacksmith content. with the added bonus that it's historically educational too! I look forward to seeing what the future holds!
Holy shit, you're back! I thought you were dead! You might remember me from when I came to visit you for a couple of days in late 2016. You were a huge inspiration to me then as now. I am very glad t see you producing videos again.
Hi Rowan, your with has been an inspiration to me since I started blacksmithing as a hobby in 2016. It is so nice to see you back, and congratulations on your teaching position!!
Hello. Nice to see new videos from your work. They one of the best blacksmithing tutorial videos I've seen on internet. And some of the nicest dificilt works and best executet. Thank you for your efforts and good videos. Greetings from Brazil
Welcome back Rowan, glad to read you're doing well and now teaching at HLC, I haven't a clue whether you remember me- I was the Dutch fellow who tagged along with you and Mike to work on the Beeston lock in 2018 (or 19, I can't even quite recall). I've since started my own forge, as was the plan, and am primarily working on reconstructing 17th c. Ironwork. Although not fulltime just yet, as health issues put me out of order for a good year and a half. But I've since recovered.
Hello Jari. Yes I remember you very well! You got paint all over the back seats of my pickup! You did say that you were going to go into 17th century ironwork and possibly continue being involved with the tall ships, I seem to remember.
@@RowanTaylor Oh good grief, I don't recall the paint debacle at all! I mean, I do recall that a little of it got on a sleeve of one of my shirts (which I had tried to take care of before leaving the forge), but I don't recall that having left anything in the pickup, but if so- terribly sorry, I hadn't noticed at all! Currently I'm not involved with the tallships, I did work on a historical shipyard as an apprentice before going to HLC. Now, over the last year and a half my main focus has shifted a little, from the intent to get into armouring, to instead getting into reproducing particular things that go 'bang', as well as more conventional every-day civilian ironwork.
A big Welcome back Rowan ! I have missed your no nonsense videos and your attention to detail. Marvellous work and I would be delighted if you can manage to find time to keep making new videos. Regards OG
Great stuff! I found you through your National School of Blacksmithing videos, and really enjoy your demonstration style. I started forging in 2018, and somehow never came across your older videos. I'll be diving through the back catalog, and looking forward to new vids!
Welcome back! Your exploration of the Mastermyr tools, the stump anvil in particular inspired my interest in experimental archeology and greatly improved my forging technique!
