    This is by far the best sailing yacht you've ever shown. I would go cross Atlantic in this craft anytime. Awesome vessel !!!

      Not for me, not in the 21st Century. Too many flotsam cargo containers. You hit one of those at 8 knots and before you know it you are trusting your life to the lifeboat. In every boat magazine test on inflatable lifeboats at least one ALWAYS fails to open. What do you do then? Die like a gentleman I suppose? More of these larger yachts need to have watertight foam filled linings to make them unsinkable. Why spend money on a rubber dingy that might not open when you most need it? Just make the whole yacht a lifeboat!

      I really like the tool pouch hanging on the engine compartment door too.........🙂

    That might just be the best layout I've ever seen on a sailing yacht! Huge amounts of space, that master cabin looked like something out of a similar size med cruising motor yacht and the exterior was super spacious for this kind of boat.
    Very impressed at the solar + water maker combo, plus the cold storage capacity. You could probably get enough fresh water off solar power alone in a pinch, I'd feel very comfortable getting out on a serious trip in this knowing you've got everything you could need

    • @operator0
      @operator0 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the size of the water maker. The high output watermakers generally draw far too much power to run off batteries. The upside is that you can fill a 150 gal tank in three hours.

      @rossd.1361 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My thoughts exactly. The engine room was fantastic most sailing yacht engines are stuck under the stairs with no access but this was fantastic. For a yacht sailed to the Caribbean and back it also looks brand new, this one is a real head turner.

    • @BadYossa
      @BadYossa 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Checkout Oysters. They are next level re layout and access to engineering is amazing. Admittedly, they cost a boat-load (!) more, but are sublime. Wouldn't say no to a Discovery, as their pedigree is truly excellent.

    Awesome yacht, amazing amount of space, the master cabin especially, don’t think I have seen a yacht with such a airy feel to it. Definitely in my lottery list. Great tour as always Nick, glad you found the hanging space eventually 🥴

    Considering the distance this boat covered on one journey by one couple and their dog it is in remarkable condition and looks brand new. A beautiful boat that any boat lover would lust after but there are not many of us (eluding me) who can afford over one million pounds for a boat. But we can all dream

    What a beautiful bluewater boat. And just so well laid out to allow it to be sailed double handed. With the bow thruster, little problem with that length manouvering in tight quarters either. I could happily see myself sailing that round the Pacific Islands. The solar panel above the davits would probably provide enough power for most day to day requirements without having to fire up the generator a lot either. Great accommodation and roomy enough for six people if required.

    Hi Nick, I discovered Aquaholic a few weeks ago and, like so many others, I've been binge watching your videos ever since to the point where I feel I've watched almost all of them. Chancing my luck here, but would you, on a rainy winter's day, consider doing a watch collection video? I've noticed a black dial dive watch in some of your early videos; and an orange dial (Seiko?) diver when it seems like the watch might get wet; and an Omega Seamatser with a blue dial; and what looks like a Rolex GMT II Master; and in some of the more recent videos a dressy white dial chrono; not to mention your Garmins and whatnot. I reckon a watch collection video would be well received... if by no one else at least by me!

    I do love the look and style of a proper yacht but I just have no clue what all the gear is for. So many sails, ropes and winches etc. I don't suppose you plan a short guide to "how to sail" for us noobs? Would be really interesting to see how the gear works, how tacking works etc. Another great review, Nick.

    • @ftsetradersteve2742
      @ftsetradersteve2742 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those kind of boats don't tack.....They are just for sitting in the marina with cocktails....The sort of people that can afford them are not real sailors....They may have owned a gin palace motor cruiser before that they could drive like a car but then fancied a thingie with sails to look cooler....BUT....they don't have any qualifications, knowledge or interest in the sea or sailing....Sad really....

    • @operator0
      @operator0 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ftsetradersteve2742 Bullshit. This boat can sail very nicely. The previous owner sailed across the Atlantic and you just can't do that without raising the sails. It simply doesn't have the fuel capacity to make a 3000nm transit on engine alone. So, it can definitely sail, and according to Nick, has done so.

    • @operator0
      @operator0 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as sailing one of these modern yachts, they're pretty simple as everything is powered with rolled up sails that can be unrolled with the push of a button. Light wind sails take more effort, but when the wind is light, the seas are generally calm, so shouldn't be much of a problem deploying them.
      There are some excellent videos on youtube that describe what all the sailing gear is, and what it's for. Try this video: th-cam.com/video/b477nzyJum0/w-d-xo.html

    Great review, but more detail on the sailing tackle please - lockers, sails, anchor, stowage etc.

      There's nothing stopping you sailing at 70, plenty of people do. 🙂

      @@AQUAHOLIC Well my short term memory is shot full of holes like swiss cheese and that is just that part that escaped the 60's still intact.. Same with my body.. one bullet is still to close to my spine and I am to old to care.. But thanks for the encouragement Nick.. your that kinda guy and I appreciate you for it!
