Nope, interface protection is automatic by MediaWiki on pages in the MediaWiki namespace, or script files of other users. (Update on my previous comment) I got the pending changes review user right and if any other user have it, here's how to use it, go to Special:PendingChanges and you will see a list of pending changes that needs to be reviewed. Then select an edit to be reviewed by clicking on any of the "review" buttons and then check for any vandalisms, BLP violations, copyvios and legal threats and personal attacks. If you find any of these, enter the reason (e.g. "revert vandalism") and then click the "revert changes" button, if you don't find any of those enter the comment as usual but it's optional and then click "accept changes". However if you have WP:RW installed it will be much easier, if you want to accept the changes as above click the green check mark and if not click the red cross.

Then you can go to the RfA page, and there will be a community consensus vote and you need to be at least around 70% support to get admin. I have been on Wikipedia for 2 years and have thousands of edits but I still don't have admin. I need to be more experienced if I want to start a RfA.
But also Upload protection, this is the level of protection that stops files from being uploaded, for example; File.map.png. But this protection level is also useful if files are subjects to persistent upload vandalism, and therefore, if being used for this behavior, files like these may be granted Upload protection, where only administrators can upload.
