i am doing a josephine wall dpn of the 80x100 the snow queen i been working on it a year now and i have two rows to go it’s got 269 colours the drills are brilliant to use yes the colours do follow on if you buy another one from the same company so you only have to add to them if there is more colours in the other kits they sell of josephine wall 😀
I haven’t done one of these massive color kits but I’ve been thinking about it. I love your method of keeping track of and finding the colors you need.
Seeing this video for the first time right now. Totally off topic, but your skin is freaking phenomenal. Also love your system for organizing this 220 color kit.
Let me know how it goes if you do give it a try! I will likely be making adjustments as I go, since this is the first time I am working a large kit like this as well. When I finish this kit, I will definitely post an update about how it went :D
Wow! Great strategy for working with such a large kit! The most I’ve done is 60 colors, but eventually I’d like to try a bigger one like yours. Thank you for sharing your tips and progress. ❤
Thanks for stopping by! The most I’ve worked on before this was only 67 colors as well 😅 Hence the overthinking and trying to manage it as methodically as possible… Hope it’ll help you when you get into a large kit like this too ♥️
@@alicego.painting it was from Deutschland 265 and it was my zodiac sign Aries. I will do Libre in the new year 250. I can't wait for that one. There is another company that sale JWall I want to try also.
Ah yes the zodiacs - I have Libra (my own sign) from DAC in my stash and would like to work on it at some point also :) Is the other company “Uniquely Yours Down Under”? I’m scared to try them due to the lack of rendering visualization and review videos on them. What’s I’ve heard from people about them is that their rendering is not as good as DAC or DPD, but also they are trying to improve their rendering now more manually.
❤🎉 OMG ALICE! Your videos are AMAZING!!!!! You know I love how your engineering mind works and it holds such an upper hand in tackling these large kits! I can’t WAIT to follow along on your video journey of doing this kit! Question: are you finding it easier to place squares with the tweezers?
Yes I pretty much exclusively use tweezers for squares now, until my hand/wrist get tired at least 😅 Otherwise, when I try to multiplace a huge color block, my OCD makes me go back to adjust them one by one with tweezers anyway 🤣 And DSA means I can’t really adjust them at all 🥲 so tweezers it is.
Hi Alice 👋🏻 So far I have done two J Walls from DPD both with 260+ colors and square drills. In those two kits there were two symbols that didn’t have matching DMC numbers. It might be that they changed the system between the manufacturing of them but it’s worth keeping an eye on the symbols to avoid any mishaps 😊
I haven't done a 220 color kit. But I would love to drive to DPD (single way it is for me 2,5 - 3 hours) and check out there store. But first I need more guts to do one this format. My biggest until now is 80 * 120 with only 48 colors 🐱
Hello Alice and birthday boy lol! Just subscribed, liked and hit the notification bell. I live in BC Canada and have been diamond painting for several years but have only ordered through Amazon. I'm so tired on popping drills, quality matters! Thinking of trying a larger canvas but worried about setting up a large canvas. If I tried to lay it over my coffee table, first I'd never be able to phyically get up off the floor, my dogs would pee on it and lets not talk about the pet hair floating around! I'll have to come up with a better seating set up. Hey you're an Engineer, any ideas for someone whos disabled and needs to sit to work lol! Happy to be aboard!!
Heeeeey fellow Canadian! 🇨🇦 First thing first...higher quality companies have small kits that you can start with, in order to find the company whose quality and cost you like the most, before getting right into a big kit :) I suggest trying to find a comfortable setup with a small kit first. Diamond Art Club makes the most high quality kits and they do ship to Canada, so you can start there! They have plenty of snack size kits AND massive kits. Now onto your main question - Most of us have to sit to work! :D Working on a canvas laid out on over a coffee table is not ergonomically sustainable for anyone. I've tried doing that during the summer when I first started diamond painting, and ended up making my back hate me. Instead, you should try to find a space where you already sit comfortably, then try to build a set-up that will fit that space. For example, if you already sit comfortably on the dining room table, but maybe feel some neck strain, then consider getting an easel so that the canvas can be tilted and makes it more ergo for you to work on for long periods of time. The one I got is www.amazon.com/gp/product/B097CXR4XL/ - it's A2 size means that it is big enough for almost all my biggest kits at least in 1 dimension; if your space does not permit, then you can try a smaller easel. If you have the budget, a drafting table would be even better. Alternatively, if you prefer to sit on the couch, you can also get a lap desk instead, e.g., www.amazon.com/SAIJI-Adjustable-Removable-Portable-Breakfast/dp/B08T5YBJH1/. Getting a lightpad should also help you see the symbols much better, which allows your eyes to be further from the canvas and you to sit up more. Regardless which setup you choose though, many kits are larger than your dotting surface at least in 1 dimension, so you will probably need a pool noodle or something to roll your canvas over and hang at the edge of your dotting surface. Sorry that my links are all from amazon.com but there should be similar products on amazon.ca :P Hope this helps!

Did you buy the 2 kits at different times?
@@alicego.painting Yes, they were bought about 6 months apart 😊
Maybe they changed something inbetween 😅 I’ll have to investigate myself then…
So smart! And I need that Ryobi light clamp too 😂
You can find one at Home Depot 🤣💡
