PEQUM is a great program, very useful and intuitive, but how do you set your flags to have the variables listed one per line. Mine are two per line requiring me to press info for the full results.
Thank you so much for this. It was truly helpful. I'm using a HP50g and I wanted to know if you can please advise how to store/backup the equations I create with PEQUM onto the SD Card or any other recommended safe place? I had several equations neatly organized after graduating and lost them all when my memory battery died...
Thank you so much for this video. Just wanted to add, the SD card has to be 2GB or LESS in storage, the calculator has issues with SD cards 4GB and above, it couldn't format a 16GB card at all.
Hi, TM'sChannel. Thanks for you video. It is excellent. I was trying to find for an equation library that can be edited for a long time. I saw on the readme file of PEQUM 1.2 that they added a feature to use measurement units. I tried the example of the readme, Using the equation 'X=Y^2' and setting the VARS as "X:acre Y:m^2". When I try to solve the equation, I get the following error: "STR->Error: Invalid Syntax" If I remove the quotation marks, I manage to the solver but when I type the value to one of the variables and try to solve the other, I get an Error "Bad Guess(es)". Have you tried to use that? It would be nice if you could post another video showing how to do that. That is a nice feature of the software.
I figured that out. I should not use the quotation marks on the VARS and there was a problem with the formula. The unit of Y was supposed to be in meters because it is squared.
Thanks you very much! When I store an equation, is it saving it on my SD memory or my calculator memory? I plan on having a large library so it would be nice to have it on my SD.
Good day, thanks for the comment. I think equations are stored on the calculator itself. I do not know of a way to change that, I have given equations to friend via the SD card, but that's about it. Please let me know if you find that using the SD card for equation storing. That would be quite helpful.
Hello mate, thanks for sharing the video! I have a question regarding updating/program transfering on windows 8. As far as I've seen I'm far better off transferring and updating through a 2GB SD memory card. Do you second? Do you have any advice for me? Thanks!
+Jose David Quintero Thanks for the comment. Sorry for the late reply, for some reason I haven't received emails regarding comments lately. I do agree that using an SD card is far better that using a PC, as I've struggled with connecting to the PC and transferring files myself. Just make sure your SD card is supported by the calculator, I know some are incompatible with the 50G. Regards TM
Hi, I have downloaded several programs for the hp50 from hpcalc but almost none of them work, it is normal or I am doing something wrong, I imitate what you do and it only works with your program
is it possible to transfer the PEQUM file without the use of a SD card as the calculator does not support my SD card, ie can the provided usb cable be used? Thanks
Hey Calvin, I have tried to do this but unfortunately it was without success, I gives me a "This is not a proper variable" error, or something similar. Maybe you have a friend who as a supported SD card? Mine is a old 256MB card. I hope you figure something out.
I got it installed works great. My question is, when I'm trying to enter values, like for 'A' for area, why can't I input, "pi/4*2^2"? It gives me an error, Too Few Arguments? Wonderful program been looking for something like this. Please Help???
+Daniel Duke Hi, I believe it is possible to enter values like that. I just tried it with my 50G and it worked. It only asked me "Approx mode on?" for using the PI symbol. After a few tries I was unable to replicate your error. Maybe you have a setting or something that doesn't allow this? Sorry if this reply wasn't much help. I hope you resolve your error.
Thanks for the video! I have many equations stored in pequm, but sometimes, when i press solve, it doesn't recognize some of the variables as variables. For example in CH20=Gv*CpH20 it should recognize CH20, Gv and CpH20 as variables, but it just sees "Gv" and "CpH20". Could it be because i gave too complicated names to the variables?
Is there anyway to create this equations (write them) on the computer and carry over to the HP? If not, is there any other program that we are able to? Thanks.
It is possible, but you must ensure that the program you write your equations with uses the same syntax as the HP. I tried it using MS Word's equation tools and it works fine for fractions and trig functions, but I cannot get the square root to be carried over (correctly) to the HP. Alternatively you can just use to the power of 0.5 instead of square root. The general procedure will be writing the equation, copying it to a .txt file and put it on an SD card you can put in your HP. Then you just copy the text from the .txt file and paste it when you create a new equation. Hope this helps. I shall keep looking for an alternative to write the equations with.
Absolutely. Hp50g has a built in "equation library" and "constants library". There are literally thousands of equations from mechanics, optics, magnetism,...etc. No need download anything.
I have no idea :) I would guess it would depend on the memory of the calculator and the length of the equations (longer equation with more variables use more memory)
I see you are or were doing water engineering, that's what I'm doing aswell and I was really struggling with the calculator until I came across your video.
I watched this video while I was in engineering school and it was so helpful. Just wanted to come back here and thank you.
It's my pleasure :) Glad I could help
Dude thank you so much lmao I've been searching for a tutorial that makes sense for so long you just made my day
Great video! Actually the best HP50g video
Thank you :)

Thank you very much! Just one question, what does: Drop stack values yes, no means?
That was a good video about a great little program that TW wrote. Thanks for making it, TM. ;)
It's a pleasure :) Thank you I really appreciate the good feedback. I think the program is excellent and way too few people know about it.
This is amazingly handy. Thanks!
+Joker1ruler It's a pleasure :)
You sir are a hero :)
Thanks :)

what type of task can you solve with this calculator and can you see the proccess on the screen?
Nice vid!! How do I change my input from rad to degree?? Like for instance tan(B)=C but B I don't want to convert every time before entry?
+Lourens Basson Press key "mode" to access the settings.
+Lourens Basson Thanks for the comment! As stated by +trexinvert go the settings and change it there. Regards TM.
2024 still loving my calculator.
Thanks you very much!

Hi, I have no idea. Does it work if you use a different name? If yes then it is probably due to your name choice.
I figured it out, I was giving the equation the same name as one of the variables. Apparently it doesn't recognize the variable if you do that.
Interesting...I did not know that :) I shall keep in mind to avoid doing it in future. Thanks for the update!
:)
Existe alguna app que haga exactamente lo mismo? Por favor si alguien supiera le estaré agradecido
how can I store the function >HMS or HMS> onto the soft keys in the custom.
+Amanda Spence Hi. I have no idea :) sorry. If you find out please let me know...

Isn't it this function , or program , already built-in to HP 50g graphing calculator ? 🤔
Absolutely. Hp50g has a built in "equation library" and "constants library". There are literally thousands of equations from mechanics, optics, magnetism,...etc. No need download anything.
There is a equation library in hp50g, but I think you can't modify or add new equations to the library.
Hi do you know the maximum number of formulas can we store?
I have no idea :) I would guess it would depend on the memory of the calculator and the length of the equations (longer equation with more variables use more memory)
My HP50G video made 300 views today! #Hp50g
How do I get the Program PEQUN???
Hi, please use the original download link in the video description. My link seems to have stopped working - will fix as soon as possible
Thanks man.
My pleasure.
I see you are or were doing water engineering, that's what I'm doing aswell and I was really struggling with the calculator until I came across your video.
(INTEGER(4,X,X^-1,X) )* 0.05*50=0 X=?? VERY MUCH TIME IN CALCULATOR ¡¡¡
+Daniel Ferreira Thanks for the comment. That's really strange...
THANKS FOR YOUR ANSWER
