  • Hi all, and welcome! Today I have a great pen holder that will work in so many journals and books. I was inspired by this video by Medieval Mirage. • Tutorial: Altered, Hid... . She did one with fabric, but I thought about how I could make one with paper. I came up with this and it works so wonderfully! I thought I'd share it with you today. I have another variation in my little brain that I will come back with at another time. (Ohhhh, the suspense!)
    Some of the papers used are from Simple Stories and Tim Holtz. I used ephemera I have made and hoarded. I also made some from papers I had left over from projects made for Country Craft Creations, specifically "By the Sea" and "Soar". countrycraftcreations.com
    The journal with the slotted hinge has a tutorial, and you can see that here:

    I think I am going to put on a pot of coffee and make a pen holder for all of the scrapbooks that I have made! We are a family of “journalers” and writers:)

    I'm doing a happy dance over this pen holder. Love it, love it love it. So many opportunities to use this pen holder. Every new junk journal will have a pen holder. Woohoo! I've been making notepads too.

    What a great idea. You could put two of them near the outer edge of journal, (front page and last page) one up high and the other lower. Then close journal and slide pen through BOTH loops so it also acts as a closure. If the journal isn't too chunky.

      I did that also, I just haven’t really shared it yet. But it worked like a charm! As a matter of fact I’ll repost it in my Instagram and share it specifically right now! I did make them a little less tall to do it. It worked great! Thanks for watching!

    LOVE them!
    When you used the pattern paper did you start with artisan base, or just the pattern paper. I know you said it makes it stronger but just wondering. ❤

    • @michelleallenacreativeoper6112
      @michelleallenacreativeoper6112  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did it both ways. The artisan is definitely more sturdy but the patterned paper alone with the reinforced edge glued down was also quite sturdy. I’m glad you liked them!
