Right, she's a Filipino but singing that song in Mandarin 😊
Rap in Rolling in the Deep is in Tagalog. In this one See You Again she sings the other half in mandarin which she learns only in 8 days. The song The Hurt You Never Knew are all in mandarin and chinese reactors all agreed that she pronunced mandarin perfectly.
She sang AND rapped in English AND Chinese! Remember, KZ is Filipino. NOT CHINESE. Before KZ was invited to SINGER, She dId not speak a single word of Chinese. Since this was Singer, it's her tribute song to the Chinese audience. I'm Chinese and i cannot believe what she did on this show!
I have so much respect for this young lady. She had to have put in tons of hours to memorize the sound of each Chinese character, then time to practice singing this song in Chinese! And then to sing AND rap the song LIVE? WOW. No offense to Jessie J (who i am a big fan of) and who deserved to win the show due to her stellar vocals and ability to "belt," but ALL 8 of KZ's Singer performances are more memorable. Some WAY MORE memorable.

BTW: it doesn't matter which KZ Singer video you do next. DO them all because it's KZ. KZ NEVER DISAPOINTS! Do them all because it's Singer. Such an AMAZING show!
PS: KZ also sang and rapped in Chinese on 2 other Singer performances: ANAK and The Hurts You Never Knew. Watch the videos with English translations if you can find them. Each will tear you apart if you can see the lyrics.
She's really amazing. She doesn't speak Chinese but she has to learn the song in Chinese. I heard it's just a week preparation. Learning that in a short period of time means she's something else.

It's in Chinese not Tagalog or Filipino. She did that so the Chinese audience can understand the lyrics of the song and can relate to the song as well.
she may not be the winner on that competition but she diffinitely leaves a great mark not just with the audience but to the judges & her fellow competitors, the entire show actually!

I believe the crowd was mostly Chinese which understandably would make them go for their local singers first and Jessie J is a global icon.. nothing against all of them and that's just how things worked out. A suggestion on another KZ video would be one from her concert where she raps crazy with Gloc 9 and Abra called Bagsakan. Thank you for featuring KZ in your videos.
KZ is versatile singer, whatever song she sing she made it her own. She rapped in Mandarin and English, switching back and forth efforthlessly..... AMAZING.. proud Pilipino.

No, not Tagalog (Filipino dialect ) but Mandarin which she does not speak. But for the listeners in China she asked to get couched in Mandarin and did it in one week. She had been my comfort before leaving HK as I got retired after 23 years in that City I missed so much.

NOT TAGALOG ITS CHINESE! HAHAHAAAHAAAAA SHE LEARNED CHINESE FAST BEING THERE IN CHINA AS SHE HAD TO, YEAH SHE'S EXTRAORDINARY TALENT, OUT OF THIS WORLD! GLORY ALELUAH!
She learned to sing the Chinese parts phonetically for that week after she was removed from the contest from the previous episode after performing Royals. They let her to do a farewell performance in this episode after that one. So the song hits more knowing that this is her farewell song for the show. Im impressed with the effort and the artistry she had put into this performance despite it not counting towards the competition as she had already been voted out.
And speaking of which, she did another performance before the Royals one where she mashed two sad Chinese songs together. She memorised the Chinese phonetically then too before the show as she doesn’t really speak Chinese.
She’s now also mentoring a new PPOP girl group called G22. They only have about 4 songs but you can hear KZ’s influence in them.
