My grandpa was a WWII veteran. He was severely injured and almost died in Germany. It’s a long story, but he was tough, he survived, then married my grandmother. As far as I was concerned at 7 & a half years old, he was the toughest man alive. We were watching the Bear’s funeral procession on tv and when I looked over at him…he was crying like a baby😅 For some reason that has always made me smile, and remembering the Bear always reminds me of my granddad and Thanks for sharing this❤
Remember this well. What a man. 70's and 80's. Bear, Woody, Bo, Darrell, Frank Broyles, Don James, Terry Donahue, Frank Kush, McKay, Switzer, Osborne, John Majors, Paterno, what a time to be a college football fan.
End of an Era for Bear Bryant, But Alabama will Bear Bryantless for the Next 24 Years from 1983-2006 spanned from Ray Perkins and Mike Shula which The Road to Saban STARTS Now.

Stallings had a great run.
a ‘92 championship victory as underdogs against Miami. Turning 17 that year I remember it well.
