Merci, merci, merci!

Bonjour, Were you very nervous about being on the show? Also, you look liked you had a great time on the show :)

@@newsman9539 It's a good sort of nervousness (I thrive on game shows) and yes, I had a ball because La roue chanceuse was my first appearance on a homegrown version of a US game show - how glamorous!

Omg How I waited to see a complete episode again. Didn't have cable back home in Canada, so I couldn't watch Wheel on a regular basis, until Donald Lautrec (the host) decided to bring Wheel in Quebec.
The video is not the premiere, by this time they have replaced the defective arrows with more rounded ones, and the chasic lights around the puzzle board is on its mornal behavior (they kept flashing during gameplay on the premiere).
Also, the top dollar values on the wheel on the premiere were barely glizty, instead we see the glitzery font shown here.

I can't believe we had to wait almost 30 years before someone finally uploaded a full recording of this show on TH-cam! Merci Million Color of Lights ! ❤️

When the nighttime version of Wheel was celebrating its 10th anniversary in the States, I believe that Donald Lautrec made the trip to Florida representing this version (US Wheel was taping some episodes at Walt Disney World I think). Several countries who had their own versions at the time sent their host and/or hostess to help celebrate, and they brought a clip of their respective versions which was shown at the end of a few episodes.

Awesome! Not sure if I ever saw Roue, but I did watch La Poule Aux Oeufs D'or a lot (it's still on), which is sponsored by the Quebec lottery association. HUGE money. (biggest win I've seen was around $750,000) The only game show I've seen where the "loser" can walk away with more money than the winner. Basically, if you're chosen to play, you are pretty much guaranteed a minimum of around $7,000-10,000.

@@guspolly Oh wow, thanks. I'd seen a few episodes here before, but didn't know there were so many. There are actually versions of the set I preferred to others, so maybe I'll get to see some old favorites.

    Two words! MER-CI! :D
Now I don't think this was the premiere episode since the flippers were different (the flippers on the premiere according to a clip I saw in 2007 actually did more flapping than flipping) and the top values had regular black numbering instead of being all glitzy like they are here.

  • @guspolly
    @guspolly 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

In the intro he says they retired a champion the day before with $12,550 and so they have three new players. So probably not the premiere. (If you edit the video in TH-cam Studio and set the language to French (Canada), it should add auto-generated captions.)

If the Quebec version of "Wheel of Fortune" as "La Roue Chanceuse" to be revived, Quebec comedian Pierre Brassard will be the host of the possible revival of Quebec's "Wheel of Fortune", accompanied by former season 1 winner of TVA's "La Voix" Valérie Carpentier will be the co-host and she will be in charge of the electronic touchscreen puzzleboard à la Vanna White. The Canadian network for the possible revival will be on "ICI Radio-Canada Télé", the French language version of CBC Television. It will be pairing with the Quebec revival version of "Jeopardy!" as "Jéopardy!".

Don't hold your breath on that. I cant see an English speaking wheel happening in Canada, not as long as Canadians are allowed to compete on the US version. A reboot of the francophone version might work I think.
