I'd like to add this comment to all those that are starting to learn Chinese. I have been diligently learning for 4 years and have come a long way and still have a long way to go. Chinese is not Spanish. You must realistically look at 10-12 years to get really proficient. It will take a long time to learn but it is definitely a "joy in the journey language". From my own experience, it is really hard to find something that will take you from beginner all the way to proficient, especially if you are a self-learner. Of course, living in China will definitely supercharge your learning, but that is not an option for me. I love this program and wish I had found it 4 years ago. Please stick with it and do everything you can to support great programs like this. Especially since the resources are provided for free online. Thank you so much for the many talented teachers and people who have made this possible. It is a great resource.

I am self-learner... first was english and now mandarin which I just started around February and Im between new HSK 2/3 with some extras from next lvl's, so I feel like to get to fluent lvl will take me 1-2 more year, I wish to be quicker. I have two rules ---- every media around me are in Chinese (music, tv shows and materials to learn, etc) and don't give up easly
I started my hsk preparation with these videos , these videos are very helpful for beginners I passed my hsk-4 with 252 marks Special thanks to these videos
My greatest appreciation to my mother land and to Peking Uni for a wonderful program .I am an overseas Chinese and never had a chance to study mandarin.

I noticed something: in the first dialogue between 婷那 and 旭东, it feels like there's some sort of sound between 叫 and 什么 (sounds and looks like a "ma", judging by the lips movement) that does not appear in the actual sentence. Is it just me or is there some sort of "euphonic" sound, maybe used in colloquial Chinese? Thanks again!
