    I love ruins, especially when foliage grows through them. I bet that house was lovely when it was in use. You’d think someone would have put a grate over the ice house though, it looks like a kid magnet

      Patricia des Angeles I agree. I love exploring Cadw's sites. Chepstow Castle is down the road from here (I would say about 30-60 minutes not by distance but by the road layout) and that is well worth a visit

      Yes, it's a lovely thing to see when nature is growing all over it. I know there is a well in that garden somewhere too. That ice house does need to have a fence around it. Thanks for watching.

    Wow that fridge was amazing, the way they did the brickwork must have taken ages, nice to see most of it has survived. Great find:)

    Looked like it was an awesome place to live back in the day. First time for me seeing a fridge like that, so cool! That huge tree is fascinating, just imagine how old it is. Thumbs up from me Wayne 👍😊✌️

    We have explored every inch of pierce field and absolutely love the place. The owners are obviously allowing it to fall down and have no interest in restoration. I don't understand why the local authority have not fined the owners "for allowing a listed building to become more rundown" . They fined the new owners of TJ's in Newport £54,000 using the same law. The new owners refused to sell to people who wanted to restore pier field, it's time to start an action and save piercefield don't you think. (I know people have tried but I am sure it would work this time)

    Whilst watching this video, i got an unfriendly feeling there is something about that place that is not good, there could have been a very bad thing that happenened at that house, its not a good place,,it has a very unnatural atmosphere about it...

    • @matthewstarmore5174
      @matthewstarmore5174 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of history, yes some bad things happened there and some good too. A former slave ended up as owner and used the house to help others. He was swindled out of the house through a corrupt plan by people of power.

    Hi Wayne, wow that bath, they don't make them like that nowaday's. That old oven you said was for making pizza was actually for making bread I believe. That old place would have really looked stunning back in the day too. This situation really does make people who wouldn't normally go out in woodlands appreciate every tree or Bluebell. I have always loved nature, coming from a farming background you take notice of the seasons and nature a bit more I think. Thank you for sharing, I hope your foot didn't get injured from it's visit down that hole. Much love to you and your family, stay safe and take care. xx💖

    Nice one Wayne. My thoughts are that it’s a bread oven in the kitchen as there is one in my house, exactly the same. It’s not a Pizza oven. Great video, as always. Rrrrrrrrooooooogggggg. Keep safe mate. Watch those Rabbit holes 🤣

      Lol, yeah. I'm always falling through one floor or another. I couldn't think what it was but I know my wife wants one of them lol. If you look, I think they made it out of a window arch. Probably leftover from the big house.

    Never knew it was so close to Chepstow Castle until recently. I went to Chepstow Castle on November 3rd 2019. Although not into your hobby myself, I love watching the videos and seeing what these buildings look like inside. Are the fields and stuff in front of the house public or not? I would like to see it but not go on anyone's land.
