It's blatantly false to suggest that "everything the British did was for their own benefit": vaccination programmes, a revolutionary increase in irrigation (25 times more land was irrigated than before colonisation), improved education and health, the establishment of the Famine Codes (which India used to prevent famines until the 1970s), the establishment of the Indian Congress Party were all unarguably done for the benefit of Indians.
1. There were famines before British rule too, the two worst in Indian history were under the Marathas (Chalisa and Doji Bara). The Famine codes were implemented from 1900, there were no more famines apart from the Bengal famine, which was a result of not implementing the Codes properly (due o WW2). 2. Indian GDP reduced to 1% because the Western Europeans and Americans industrialised, which resulted in their economies dwarfing everyone elses. 3. Indian rulers killed plenty of Indians too. 4. Britain had stopped trading slaves by 1807, and did more than any other ocuntry in the world to abolish the slave trade after that. 4. India was much more divided before the british came than after. in 1750 there were over a dozen warring kingdoms, in 1947 just two nations, India and Pakistan (which the British didn't want to create, but had to because the Hindu and Muslim nationalists couldn't make nice) 5. India went through some trials during colonialism for sure, but it also advanced a lot compared to what it was before, and was spared the endless war that had plagued the whole subcontinent for the previous few centuries. This is to make sure that too much importance is not given to the stucture than the worship of the God. But somehow, the same structure becomes sacred here in India. This is just so that the Hindus are not able to build their place of worship, which is sacred to them. I'm not an englishman haha. here's a few things that's wrong: 1) the story about the British cutting off the thumbs of Bengali weavers is completely untrue and not backed up by any historical accounts 2) He implies that Indians grew poorer under British rule, again not true, the Indian GDP per capita increased from $576 in 1750 to $618 at the time of independence. 3. It's blatantly false to suggest that "everything the British did was for their own benefit": vaccination programmes, a revolutionary increase in irrigation (25 times more land was irrigated than before colonisation), improved education and health, the establishment of the Famine Codes (which India used to prevent famines until the 1970s), the establishment of the Indian Congress Party were all unarguably done for the benefit of Indians.
1. There were famines before British rule too, the two worst in Indian history were under the Marathas (Chalisa and Doji Bara). The Famine codes were implemented from 1900, there were no more famines apart from the Bengal famine, which was a result of not implementing the Codes properly (due o WW2).
2. Indian GDP reduced to 1% because the Western Europeans and Americans industrialised, which resulted in their economies dwarfing everyone elses.
3. Indian rulers killed plenty of Indians too.
4. I've already listed a whole bunch of ways by which the British helped India (of course they were in India to get rich, but they did a lot of good too)
5. indian GDP has surpassed the British GDP, but that's only because of India's population. GDP per capita is far behind, so Indians are still much poorer than the British.

1. Britain had already begun industrialisation when they started to conquer India, that's how they had the money to field such large armies against the Indian rulers (they could pay Indian soldier better than local rulers, so they had more men)
2. As far as i'm aware, the British had the right to impose whatever tariffs they wanted in their own country.
3. Britain had stopped trading slaves by 1807, and did more than any other ocuntry in the world to abolish the slave trade after that.
4. India was much more divided before the british came than after. in 1750 there were over a dozen warring kingdoms, in 1947 just two nations, India and Pakistan (which the British didn't want to create, but had to because the Hindu and Muslim nationalists couldn't make nice)
5. India went through some trials during colonialism for sure, but it also advanced a lot compared to what it was before, and was spared the endless war that had plagued the whole subcontinent for the previous few centuries.
India's done well to improve so much in the past few decades, i hope we can bring poverty to levels as low as the Chinese have in the near future. have a goodnight bro

We are a fuel importer nation and its price depends on the international prices. India controls the rate of rupee by policy changes rather than controlling the supply. Do you want to change that? You do understand that if the Rupee gets expensive compared to dollar it would impact our exports.
Please do share the list of states that banned beef after Modi came to power. Beef was already banned in most of the states with few execptions.
Mazjids are not a permanent places of worship in Islam. Mazjids in Saudi Arabia are dismantled regularly and relocated. This is to make sure that too much importance is not given to the stucture than the worship of the God. But somehow, the same structure becomes sacred here in India. This is just so that the Hindus are not able to build their place of worship, which is sacred to them.
Hindus will keep voting Modi or BJP to power till they get the equal rights to their religion just like the others here.
i said starting a farm can get you more yield than what BJP can offer, never said farming is bad lol. the price of 1 barrel of petrol is $68 and we sell it for Rupees 80 per liter, when it was congress the price of 1 barrel was almost $100 and we sold it for 70 rupees.
