Every year in November, farm toy dealers gather at Beckman High School and other venues around Dyersville Iowa and stage the largest farm toy show in the country:
The National Farm Toy Show!
I’m Logan the 64th Gear Jammer Skeele and I’ve got a special video for tonight all about the big show. So smash the like button and lets go!
The 46th Annual National Farm Toy Show is going on this coming weekend, Friday November 3rd through Sunday November 5th 2023.
The show is located in Beckman High School, the National Farm Toy Museum, Commercial Club Park, and Outdoor Sales in Dyersville.
The show hours are:
5 PM to 8 PM on Friday the 3rd.
9 AM to 6 PM on Saturday the 4th.
And 9 AM to 2 PM on Sunday the 7th.
General Admission is $10 per day or get a Floor Rights Pass for $30 and get into the show early all weekend! Talk about a great deal. Same money for all three days but get in early!
Floor rights passes get in at 2 PM instead of 5 PM on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday floor rights pass gets you in at 8 AM instead of 9 AM.
Now that the nitty gritty details are out of the way. Let’s talk about some of the events that make this show special.
The First and MAIN EVENT is the toy show and sales. Shop farm toys, trucks, construction equipment, and memorabilia at just under 200 booths!
The premiere building for booths is Beckman High School.
Vendors fill every hallway and several classrooms in the school. Also, there are vendors in the cafeteria and the Beckman new gym.
Other sales booths are in the National Farm Toy Museum, the Commercial Club Park, and outside tents around the Museum and scattered in other parts of Dyersville. There are dealers here from all over the United States. If you are looking for a specific farm toy, odds are someone will have it here.
Also, for all you display guys, there are tons of accessories available to choose from to take your display to the next level. Just hit up Justin Lockwood of Justin Displays in the Beckman new gym. His booth is located right next to our next featured event:
The National Farm Toy Show Display Contest.
There are displays built by youths and adults so there are different levels of skill competing for prizes. Top entries in each category earn a gold tractor trophy.
For the kids, there is a sanctioned Pedal Pull on Saturday Only. Registration for the pedal pull is at 9 AM and the pull starts at 9:30 AM.
For those of you who want a souvenir specific to the show, Toy Farmer had Ertl create two Versatile 125 4WD farm tractors: 1st is 1:32nd Scale 2nd is 1:64th Scale. The show is sponsored by Toy Farmer and their booth is inside the Beckman new gym.
Another big event is the National Farm Toy Show Auction.
The auction is Saturday November 4th, 2023, at Beckman High School Auditorium. It’s a great place to find some of those very rare farm toys.
Next event is the Sanctioned Micro-Mini Pull. This is a neat event as it pits tiny pulling tractors against each other to see who can build the best puller. The pulling tractors are 1:16th scale
Pulls are at 3 PM on Friday the 3rd and 11 AM on Saturday the 4th. Location is Dyersville Commercial Club Park usually in the south building in the park area.
And last, the National Farm Toy Museum is open.
Due to the spread-out nature of this show with vendor booths, exhibits and events in several different locations, a FREE bus service is available throughout all three days of the show. Stops include Beckman High School, National Farm Toy Museum, and Commercial Club Park.
This annual show brings in 10s of thousands of farm toy fans and collectors for good times and good buys. But the town is pretty small, and lodging is scarce so plan accordingly. Best chance of lodging is the large city of Dubuque which is about 20 miles east of Dyersville on US Highway 20.
One last place to visit in Dyersville is the Field of Dreams movie site. It is located just outside of town.
