    @Shua01 On newer vcrs it's a little bit more complicated because you have to take the entire tape transport out of the vcr in order to reach the bottom side of the mechanism; it's hard but not impossible, look for screws or plastic clips that holds the tape transport and be careful about all the cables you remove. It is always a good idea to take one or more pictures of the mechanism before removing something. Good luck!!

    I bought my Magnavox VCR combo in 2010 and it worked perfect up until month ago. Nobody around here knows anything about these units, but I think I learned enough from watching these vidoes tha I can try to clean it up myself. I just hope the little drive belt isn't broken. I used a Maxtell head cleaner and it played good, but the regular movie got stuck and pulled when it ejected.

    I am having the same problem with a cassette in a RCA VCR Recorder and I guess the small belt must be broke in mine also. I thank you so much for demonstrating how to repair that problem and I will take mine apart and check for that pulley belt to see if it is broke. It sounds like I should order more than one part if that is the problem just in case it does it again as well as getting the other belt's replacement also.

    Ahhh you helped me fix our Mitsubishi VCR thank you . exactly same problem the belt broke into 4 pieces. Wasnt easy to get to though i had to take a whole thingy out to get to it underneath. Now to just find a spare part 😁

    I forgot to mention that this Philips vcr uses the famous Turbodrive transport. A lot of Philips made vcrs uses this mechanism.

    @teletronikoforever Thanks for the video. I just had to do this and it was a life saver. My VCR was of the type where the entire transport has to be removed in order to access the bottom side of the mechanism. However, the screws to remove the transport were obstructed by the tape that was in the VCR. I ended using a paperclip to rotate the gears on the bottom and retact the tape. Hence I didn't have to remove the entire transport mechanism. Thanks again.

    @plamondone This Philips vcr is not mine, it came with a cassette stuck inside so I took it apart for the first time and removed the cassette, then replaced the broken loading belt and now it is working perfectly.

      +PieSpie You know, at the moment, most video studios still use magnetic bands to store their data (plus some hard drives). But home users won't use them, except if they still have a bunch of VHS tapes in their house (like meh!!!). I don't know if some people use a VCR daily, I mean for almost everything, overall because it was aborted by industries.

    Bought a nice HiFi vcr last week for a bargain. After some times of normal use, the tape stopped to eject or play. Frustrated, I watched this and other similar videos in order to find a solution.
    After three days of frustration, I realized that I had accidentaly activated the "key inhibit" function!...

    im not sure what brand or what year my VCR is, but when I load a VHS, the whole machine turns off and the clock display starts blinking. At the same time I can hear some kind of ticking noise coming out of the machine. I can't eject the tape, nor can I turn the VCR on, any suggestions.

    • @teletronikoforever
      @teletronikoforever  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to look for the specific belt for your vcr, some belts are flat, some others are squared so you have to check which type of belt your vcr uses.

    You know you didn't have to turn the pulley manually to unload the tape. If you put the belt on while the tape is loaded, it will eject normally and its an easier way.

    Aia, questi Philips quante cassette mi ha mangiato
    Queste meccaniche Philips sono famose per il turbo drive .
    mi hanno dato sempre molti problemi, sono meccaniche molto belle esteticamente anche in maniera costruttiva ma ad esempio i rulli pressori che utilizza negli anni si screpolano come ad esempio gli ingraggi philips in poche parole hanno una durata di tempo, il problema è che rigano il nastro in modo superficiale, anche il motorino di caricamento negli anni inizia a dare problemi più di una volta mi è capitato un Philips che all inserimento della cassetta non riusciva più ad espellerla perché appunto il motorino di caricamento era partito era anche buona come meccanica tutta particolare dal caricamento ricordava i cari e vecchi VCR U-matic ma come ripeto danno un sacco di quei problemi che non puoi immaginare
