This looks really cool. I am seeing it with my brother, and I have a feeling that I will like it, and he won't. He agrees that he probably won't like it either. We aren't really slasher people, but we will always appreciate a good horror movie. I personally do have slashers I like, but they have too be competent, which is apparently a lot to ask for as the genre does have a very limited number of good entries. Unless you expand the definition to include stuff like TCM, Green Room, and Stepfather, which I do classify as slashers, then the genre is a lot more favorable in my mind. But since this one looks both competent and creative, I'll probably like it, but my brother can still appreciate that, but he cares more about writing than I do, so we will see.
Good reaction. I saw it on Tuesday at the show, and it was an enjoyable experience. Also, your afghan of Halloween reminds me of the ending of this film. I'm hoping to go see it again before they take it off from screenings.
It was a great dark comedy.
I wanted to care about the killer and or those being killed but i just couldn't care about any of the characters. I'm happy you enjoyed and found it to be your cup of tea. I may give it a second chance down the road sometime.
Every time I hear Moonlight Sonata I think of Elephant. Such a powerful film. Gus Van Sant is a treasure. Good Will Hunting gave us Miss Misery by Elliott Smith. For that alone I'll be eternally grateful. ♥️
Hearing you describe In a Violent Nature as a sensory experience definitely makes me want to see this movie. I'm on vacation now but hopefully it's still in theaters when I get back home. 🙏 The trailer was intriguing and I'm always up for something different.
I absolutely agree! The music in most of Gus Van Sant's films is amazing, plus he's just such a talented filmmaker.
And yeah for sure check this one out if you can! At very least you might just appreciate the style of filmmaking.
So I know this movie is from the perspective of the killer but I gotta ask is there still somehow many jumpscares? I can't do jumpscares.
Definitely not a jumpscare type of film so I think you'll be fine! There was a loud sound towards the beginning of the film though that made me kinda jump but I'm just pretty jumpy in general.
