I was 14 when this song came out. And the scene where wolves start showing in the woods, chasing taylor and almost getting to her by her dress... the anxiety i got had me so scared I never watched this MV for 2years. Looking at it now, this video is genius.

This deserves more love.

They were jealous of their luck and happy, lovely life. (World is black and white, but we were screaming colors). 'Out Of The Woods' is probably one of Taylor Swift's most emotionally intense song. I could strongly feel her pain, anguish, angst, sorrow, and dejection in this song. I was actually quite disappointed that this song did not fare as well as her other singles from her '1989' album. It's 2022 and I am still listening to this. I wonder who else is still listening to this.
It's amazing how she made the chorus so emotionally intense with just one note.

I like that the video represents conflict within herself about a relationship. She throws the necklace showing that she wants to free herself from a toxic situation yet reaches for it as it flies because she wants to believe things will work out. That sounds good, the chorus to me is she describes the "woods" is conflict in the relationship and she is waiting for the time the conflict subsides so they can be on decent terms again. One of my favourite songs on this great album.

I think the "out of the woods" part means "is every problem solved?" Like she means if everything is now safe and normal.
