hello, what kind of clay do you use in that pot? what is its composition? how often do you water the seeds? do you have to keep them moist all the time? how long will it take for them to germinate? David
I used 50% sand mixed with 50% peatmoss by weight and the humidity should be kept high to insure proper germination. The plastic wrapped around the water creates a mini greenhouse effect and the seeds won’t require any watering as long as the plastic remains on the pot and it will roughly take maximum of 5 months for the seeds to germinate.
I am a palm grower from Europe, I found your contact on google because I am a bit desperate, I am writing to you if you would advise me on the proper cultivation of the Bismarkcia nobilis palm, I bought this palm this spring, it is about 1.5 meters tall, and because she already had a small pot, so I transplanted her into a big and deep pot, I fertilize the palm tree regularly once every 14 days with a special fertilizer for palm trees, and it also has enough moisture, but still my leaves are slowly drying out, even though it has two new leaves growing now, her next leaf is starting to dry, do you think this is normal??? I read somewhere that this palm tree doesn't like repotting, is that true? what is your experience with this palm tree? I would very much like to learn more about its cultivation, and if you are willing to tell me tricks so that this beautiful palm tree does not die, I will be very happy, I will also be happy for any advice on how to grow it. Thank you very much for your answer. David
In my experience bismarks don’t like being repotted as its root system is very fragile and while transplanting it, you should be really careful that the rootball doesn’t collapse and if that happens the palm will enter into a period of transplant shock and might even die, so I suspect that what is happening to your Bismarckia is a result of transplant shock and you should step back on the water and fertilizer for now and raise the ambient humidity, in addition place the palm in a shaded area until the plant regains its health back. good luck!
it’s expensive as it is really difficult to transplant the large palm and it takes a long time to reach a size that is suitable to be resoled and yes of course it resists high temperature.

Colher somente as sementes graúdas, e maduras. De preferência onde há as duas espécies Masculina e Feminina. Fazendo isso nada de usar água quente. Abraços do Alves!!!
