A Dad let each of his teenagers run the family household for 3 months under his supervision, including paying rent/mortgage, utilities, car insurance, groceries etc . before they started college. A very valuable lesson for life.
With supervision this is awesome
great idea!
Your kids did a great job of making choices within their budget. I love how you are still being a parent to Zay and his GF.
Hearing your little one call you Daddy, melted my heart. Thanks for sharing.

I loved when your daughter said, I don't have pockets.
Girls and women challenge
Silly girl clothes. It was an issue 100 years ago and still is. Pockets are good.
A common problem with girl clothes!!
A total oversight of ladies clothes.
My daughter is great at saving her own money. She just spends mine. 😂
It is so funny watching Luke. He moves constantly, especially when he talks. He exhudes pure joy.
I like that you are doing this for your kids. When my daughter was younger, I taught her a couple of ways. 1st way was by price 2nd by quantity and quality. 3rd way was a way of thinking. 1) Do I need it, or do I want it. 2) Can I afford it if it is a want. She thinks twice about everything, including the small stuff, like school supplies. Today, at her age, she still does it, even to her husband and the things he wants or needs. All her life, I have told her, "We will supply your needs, but you need to supply your wants." Even as a little kid, she did chores around the house or had tutoring jobs for her 2nd grade teacher, that she got paid for to supply her wants. At 15 yrs old, she had her 1st real job and bought her 1st car on her own. At 18 yrs old, she had 3 jobs and went to school and moved out on her own. 9 yrs later, she got married, still working, and attends college, that she has paid for all on her own.
Oh Peter you’re brave and patient. You’re a great dad teaching these children about spending. Blessings
Mr.Peter ,if you take them to a Dollar tree store they would absolutely love it.Great job giving your children practical life skills.😊 Sending hugs from Baltimore
How about giving them a budget to buy healthy food to eat for dinner that they can help cook? They’d have to pick a protein, veggies, a carbohydrate (pasta, rice, potatoes) and dessert (can be prepared). I’d like to see what they come up with. Fun video!
I love the big brother. He's such a good influence
Brothers. You're right.
Hi Peter
Ten dollars is like 10 pounds in England.
I couldnt believe how expensive in the shop , but the name of the shop was brilliant.
Just the bags of sweets like was it just over 5 dollar was to me expensive, nice to see Zay and Maddie are still staying with you. You have such a repour with all your children.
Such a great way to introduce to the cost effective way of shopping😊
I was thinking same. 0.79USD to £1.
Inflation crazy everywhere eh.
Enjoying fantastic videos. This made me giggle.

What a great adventure and lesson at the same time. I enjoyed watching the teens and little ones shop 😊
Itd be cool to get the teens to plan and prep a family dinner/meal with a predetermined budget. The smaller children could have the same task for family breakfast.

Sprouts is my favorite store and it’s not too far from my house. Highest quality food store. Beats Whole Foods in my book and a little better value too.❤️❤️❤️
Zade is soooo loved!
The beauty of this was the way you did it. Infinite patience and a whole lot of love made it a positive experience for you all as well as learning the value of money
Love this so much! I used to get $10 to buy gifts for other people on holidays and birthdays and would be set loose in the $2 shop when I was in primary school. Then in High school age 16 I was allowed to run the household groceries with some supervision (lists + budget). My goal was to have spare change. It was good. Taught me a lot about money management.
I LOVE THIS THE LITTLE ONE IN THE CART (BELLA IS IT) I SEE SHE WAS OBSERVING I WOULD'VE PICKED HER UP A COUPLE OF ITEMS TOO CUTE AT THE END SHE HELD UP A BAG LIKE THIS IS MINE❤
Yay Sprout's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🌱
I had just asked you about this in a post. This was really good.
Oooooo, the littles…., taking them to stores can be a nightmare; grocery stores forget about it.
The more we do this as parents, grandparents, caregivers the better for our children.
Thanks, for taking us on this journey.
Wonderful man and father, may God bless u !
Luke is the sweetest boy!!!!
This is such an amazing experience!!! Now they can start doing chores, get paid, and they can go to the store again and see how they are with their decisions 😊💞
That’s wonderful, they did well. You did well.
Our family LOVES Sprouts! Our go to place here in San Diego.
I was first introduced to cauliflower risotto and baked salmon pre-prepped food and my mind was blown! It’s amazing!
Hahaha. I love it. I loved watching the little ones. That is how it going and my heart melted when the baby called you daddy I hope you end up with her. Your family is living there best life with their dad. You are sent from the heavens sir. Hugs
They are all so precious
I just found your channel a few days ago and I absolutely adore your content and your family😊😊😊 blessings to you from Toronto😊😊😊😊😊
Awesome really enjoyed watching the little ones shopping good night from London U.K
I love the latest edits, y’all are so funny and I love watching your family❤
Great job Peter!
Great job Peter! One thing I can recommend is taking them to Sprouts then Aldi’s. Show them how most HAVE to budget to feed their families. The price label will show you the price per ounce so you can compare the best deals. Buying meal items like pasta, rice, veg, bread, eggs that can last the week on a specific budget will get their wheels turning, Zay & Maddie did a great job!!!! I teach my Grandchildren money taking them to the Dollar Store (now $1.25) plus calculating sales tax.
Why is everyone saying Aldis? There is no Aldis😅
I love watching how loving and engaged you are with your kids.. One thing at a time? Spending and budgeting? Hum.. What about healthy choices? Diabetes often results from high carb and sugery foods. Healthy choices of nuts cheeses etc may be can be cultivated? Processed foods, candy and cereals not so good for healthy habits or resulting sugar spikes and moods. Love you so much you are the best
It is important to teach them about money. Well done.
What a great idea!
Super great idea! I wish I had done that with my own kiddos
Pretty soon, your oldest will need to learn how to budget for paying bills! Gahaa!! I know, I know!! "Don't eeeeven go there, yet!!"😉🤣
Yes! Great idea about dollar stores r even walmart for older kids! Alot cheaper!
Soooo grrrreat that you don't have a money tree, and it's not raining gold coins!! Good job!!
When our kids were wee, over 25 years ago, we would do secret Santa's at Christmas time. Everyone got £6 to spend, and we all put our names in a hat, us parents too, and draw out our person to buy for. The rules were £1 on a little bit chocolate or sweets and the other £5 on the present it's self. We agreed on a shop for all our needs and they were allowed to ask for help except from the person the gift was for.
It was a great way to teach them how to budget and think about another's need/likes. My husband has great memories of explaining to our younger son that mummy really wouldn't want a sticky rat to throw at the wall, he did but not mummy!
Afterwards they had to wrap and lable the gift and place under our tree....when Christmas Eve arrived we would share out and open them after dinner, trying to guess who got who. It was lovely, a wee Christmas gift for each other and a little chocolate before Christmas.
As they got older, they got a little more money until they were old enough to save up their own money for Christmas gifts for grandparents, us, and each other.
Even now, my daughter in her 30s still wears a scarf from her secret Santa of her childhood. Makes me smile.
It's one of their best memories they tell us.
What a Great Man and a Great Dad , Good Job Dad ♥️
You are great!
I love Anthony ❤
Peter, you are a beautiful dad! 🥰🇬🇧🇮🇱🇺🇦✝️✡️
What a great dad you are!
I love Sprouts Market👍🏻
Me too!!!! Just verified they do NOT allow Apeel on their produce. Same as Trader Joe's! Yay!
So much fun ❤❤😊😊 super Dad ❤❤😊😊
Who does the effects? It’s so funny 😂😂 God bless your family! ✝️🫶🏻
Omg! I thought I was the only one. Before my kids and I left the house, I gave them $20 a trip to spend even when we went to Disney. THAT IS IT. THEY quickly learn budgeting and the value of money. AS soon as they were 15, they found summer jobs to make their own money. I did not let them work during school periods, though. Now they really know how to spend their money 💰
I am a mother of 7 and I tau2my kids by taking them shopping all the time. As a family we made decisions on what we got by sale😂s, what most family members liked, and what was pretty healthy. I do like your limited budget open shopping.
Great parenting ❤❤❤❤
This is awesome
Sprouts is expensive for a $10 budget. They been better off at Dollar Tree😅
I love watching you and your family that I had to subscribe 💖 🏴🇬🇧🕊️
God bless you, daddy ! 🙏
Peter next time take your younger kids to the Dollar Store. 👍🏾
Kids have to have experience of spending money. A life skill. Start very early with a piggy bank. Doing laundry and learning to cook are skills they need before they leave home. So start early little by little.
This reminds me of when my grandkids were little and my grown daughter and I took them to the library “because it would be fun”. 😂😂😂
I strongly believe teaching kids the difference in want and need and if I as a grandparent buy a want it’s a gift. I’ve always told me kids and grandkids I work to help with needs not wants. They learn early and plan they own money accordingly. They’re needs for themselves are different that what I may see as a need so they budget to meet what they see as a need….like church trip or entertainment they want to do.
😂 taking kids to groceries 😅
❤❤❤❤
ZAI 4 THE WIN!! 😅
I enjoyed this volg
Was that guy proposing @11:58? Lol.
I would give the the older kids responsibility for one weeks food and challenge them to make a healthy meal plan for the week and make the grocery list. see if they can save money out of the budget. Maybe involve them every time you pay a bill and ask them to make suggestions in how you could save more.
My teenagers always wanted name brand things, shies jeans etc but when they had their own jobs & was buying their own things, WOW it suddenly didn't need to be brand name anymore 😂
Peter wait you got treats TWO TIMES LOL
You have more money says Luke 😂😂😂😂
Keep working on the budget teaching it will be a life saver as an adult. At the candy isle, its a good way to show weight too.
Peter your teaching them to budget! by buying candy can you be my dad 💗 ps dollar store more fun 4 little ones
Hi peter, good idea. What i can suggest is to give them a budget for a purpose : buy lunch (as healthy as possible), a birthday cake, a snack, etc.... this way, they won't be overwhelmed by all the stuff in the store.
I did it with kids aged 6 and 8.
In my country, we have a sweet snack at 4 pm. The kis were rom a wealthy family and used to have nice and expensive snacks. They had a friend who was from a poor family. She usually had bread and discount chocolate for snack. But one day, she invited the kids, and her mother bought some little cakes for snack. They were the cheapest. The girl was so excited to offer a "nice" snack to her friends. But the boys were disgusted because it was a cheap quality. The girl was so disappointed, she cried and the boys didn't understand why. It was so disgusting it was an offence to make us eat that, they said.
To teach them a budget, I asked the girl's mother how much she would spend in snacks for the week. I knew the price of the cake, and it was a box of 10. It was 2$. So i brought the boys to the supermarket and asked them to find 10 snacks for 2$.
First, they tried to negotiate their usual snacks : you can give us more money. I refused, telling them their friend’s mother had only 2$ to spend each week.
Then they brought me bread and chocolate. For one bread and chocolate, it was under 2. But i made them calculate how much bread and chocolate they would need for 10 snacks : it was beyond 2$.
At the end, all they could buy was this box of 10 disgusting cakes.
But they understood that people have no choice sometimes, and when their neighbour offered them two cakes, it was two she did not have for snack. So it was a present, and you don't tell someone that his present is horrible or disgusting.
After that, when the girl offered them a snack, they would take it with gratitude, like a present.
You taught them empathy, a priceless gift!
Still confused about their. Names i thought when they were adopted they changed their names to luke and Isabella but I still hear you xall him Cole.
Well I don't know about the boys. All three seem to be not focused. They haven't struggled for survival in a monetary way. For my 18th birthday I was moved out to a hole in the wall apartment and told to survive by my family. I didn't have a job, no vehicl and I was still in high-school school. I learned to budget pretty quickly. One thing you can do is have a scenario of budget and include taxes. Like if Anthony had a job and an apartment and had to pay for bills. That might bring home a reality he's never had to face. Also take him to the places where he might live on said budget.
