    Really nice boat. Love the Helmaster and the Zipwake. Awesome features! 😎

    Having found your channel I'm now binge watching everything. I recognise the QCYC marina in Cabbage Tree Creek. A friend lives on Allpass Parade near Baxter's Jetty. Great stuff.

    So I have my 1095 (2023) now for 12 months. Twin Mercury's 300, joystick, generator, air conditioner. Prior boat for 9 years was the Swift trawler 34, single Cummins with bow and stern thrusters.
    What I love about the 1095 is the joystick and the outboards. What I hate is the light weight of this boat which makes it a bit uncomfortable at anchor. We do our boating in Biscayne Bay.

      Hi, thanks for the comments. I would agree, although the shallow draft is fantastic for getting into some tricky areas it does mean that it moves a lot at anchor. If you find a solution let me know.

      My 1095 is the same, swings around all over the place if its windy! Almost makes you feel sick

    Love the joystick control but dont like the banging sound from the gearboxes, im sure that will improve over the next generation of engines

    • @TheRudder
      @TheRudder  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm sure it will improve as well but some of that might also be from the driver, that was my first time driving with the joystick. I think less small twitchy inputs and some larger more disisive use of the joystick might lower that gear box noise. They are also very 'throaty' engine, a very bass note to them.

      This IS the next generation of engines. Won't be another update for a long time. Needs break in or it's user error.

    250's are a must. Wonder if there is room for a Quick gyro?

    • @TheRudder
      @TheRudder  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is room in the laverette for sure. They are not a factory option though. Need to go to another company for reinforcement.

    Love it, she needs a stabilizer bad though. She is so ugly but very functional. My wife and I will look at one here in the states in 2 weeks.

    Great to see the Yamahas and that joystick control system, thanks. Interesting to compare the Yamaha 250 hp to the mercury 225 hp we had fitted to our new 895 S2. We achieve 62 l/hr at 19-24 knots so far (with the tide I even got 58 l/hr) and we get around 9-10 l/hr at six knots, in contrast to the 14 l/h you got… we do a lot at this speed so the economy we appreciate.
    Nice to have but I wonder if you felt the joystick was needed given your extensive experience with the 895? We didn’t get it and don’t feel the boat needs it as it’s very easy to handle, in fact it’s our first thruster in a boat for a while so we feel it’s a breeze to park.
    Thanks again for your thoughts and experience!
    T

      Those fuel numbers look very close to our S1 numbers with 2x 200hp. I think the extra horsepower took a little bit more fuel. Good question around the joystick. It probably isn't required but certainly makes things easy. It is the first bow thruster I've had as well and I feel I can control everything as required. I think a lot of fishermen want it for its trawling ability. Happy boating Tony.

    Jeanne su should offer the seekeeper ride

      Probably should have it as a factory fit.

    Thank you for this and all of your very informative videos, you guys do a great job! How does the 895 S2 cabin noise level compare to your 895 S1 while underway at cruising speed and beyond?

    • @TheRudder
      @TheRudder  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It wasn't the best day to test cabin noise as we had a good amount of chop and were driving a little bit harder than we usually would. The engines have a significantly lower note that does resonate through the cabin. I think the cabins would be reasonably similar. Sorry we didn't really test this properly.

    Cool... what is the sea pin???

    • @TheRudder
      @TheRudder  หลายเดือนก่อน

      A seapen is a dry docking system.

    How is she at anchor for an overnighter? Does she roll pretty good?

    • @TheRudder
      @TheRudder  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Unfortunately didn't get to stay overnight on board. But the 895 is a great overnighter. It is 'light' on the water so you will need a protected anchorage.

    Does the new hull design allow the outboards to tilt all the way out of the water? Many with series 1 have complained about the outboards still being partly in the water when fully tilted up.

      I'll check at the boat show this weekend. I didn't really check as it was in a seapen.

      Our series 2 has the tip of the 225 Mercury engines bobbing in and out of the water… a little Antifoul is applied as our solution

    They should offer seekeeper ride instead of the zipwake

    • @TheRudder

      Much easier to add zipwake as opposed to seakeeper.

    How is the ride vs your 895 ?

    • @TheRudder
      @TheRudder  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I found the serie 2 quite like BUT also it was light, none of the water, provisions and extra stuff that get added onto a boat over time. But the electric throttle and steering makes for a light control. The dead rise is down two degree from 23 to 21 on the new model, so it was a touch flatter. The turning on both seemed equally aggressive, you can really hook it into a turn. I would have like to hear the hull noise in a bit calmer water to see what it might be like sleeping on board. We do find our hull can be noisy at night. Thanks for reaching out.
