It is possible, but you will need to use the "Modbus RTU Gateway" shown at the 3:35 of this tutorial and you must ensure that the correct COM port was selected.

Our support staff always recommends testing the project with the equipment that will be used at installation. This will allow you to verify the network configuration of your system and test the project at the same time.
