- Army Daze is a 1996 Singaporean comedy movie based on the 1987 theatre play (which had a rerun in March 2006[1] ) of the same name by Singaporean writer Michael Chiang. Distributed by Cathay Asia Films and directed by Ong Keng Sen, the film portrays a group of 18-year-old Singaporeans from different classes and cultural backgrounds as they perform their National Service and their experience within the Singapore Armed Forces. The movie is spoken in Singlish, Standard English, Malay, Hokkien and Mandarin.

Dont forget this film is also like based off the play so its so theatrical compared to ah boys to men which is great cause it feels normal and like familiar.

As someone who did NS pretty recently, this movie really captures the true experience of servicing national service much more than ABTM. It really does capture the little moments of bonding between your section mates. The best part has to be the ending. Your BMT/SCS/OCS/company mates may not stay in touch forever, but the memories will always remain.
I've seen this when I was a kid, now all grown up, I understand better. A great old movie.

jacob's ladder - my favourite. ran up no issues. ran down without a care skipping 3 or 4 logs at a time. cleared in 7 seconds. fell down once though while decending. the warrant officer standing there was like " ok ok no need to rush, i know you can do it, dont hurt yourself.
it was hilarious to see my platoon mates crawl up to the top, then freeze. and slowly inch their way down step by step XD

There are. During my BMT in 1997, there is a corporal who took on this role as he served an extra 6 months due to his promotion to corporal. Last time, LCP and below served 2 years of NS, Corporal and above serve 2.5 years of NS
