    New sub here. Came across the prom video as my first. Hilarious seeing your captions 🤣. Great sense of humor and i can tell you really love this job. Something that people lost. Pride in their work. Not just a check!
    Our school chartered out 3 of these in 2007. Obviously not the same make or model, but it was fun! The driver made us feel very safe for a 2 day trip. Loved the movies he had. Thanks for letting us come in 2nd place for the robotics national championship

      @@alblua I'm trying my hardest to remember if it was greyhounds or not. Had the brighter seat colors, exact replica of an airplane overhead bins, and a bathroom. Last row was lifted a bit higher.

      Hmm, last row lifted higher makes me want to think it was a VanHool C2045, but there could be other possibilities!

    *SERIES 60 DETROIT! NICE!* A Legendary Engine. 14-Liter?!? This is an MCI, right?!? I was Reading About Coaches having Cummins Engines now, X12s. Which makes me Wonder, what the Manufacturers are going to do when the X10 Replaces it? An X15 would be a Bit Much for a Coach, but even so!
    LOVE the Videos, Brother! Keep Up the Excellent Work! You're Living the Commercial Driver Dream, man! I've always wanted to be( *AND WILL STILL BE* ), a Truck Driver, but having been a Bus and Coach Passenger in this Life, I thought I'd Try that Out, just to See what it's like. And...😅🤣😃!!! Wisconsin doesn't want me doing that(at least Not Milwaukee, where I live...). I Applied at Badger Coaches, too. Never heard back...
    Greetings from Southern Milwaukee County, man! 🤣😅😃!!! 105 Minutes North of you!

    • @alblua
      @alblua  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, this a MCI J4500 with a Detroit Series 60! The J4500 only comes with the Cummins X12 right now. I don't recall what MCI's engine plan for the future is, but they were evaluating the X15 at one point.
      Sorry to hear it didn't work out, good luck on your commercial driving career!

    What is the name of the tool you used to pull bags in your luggage bay and where is it available. I drive for a Palm Springs, CA charter bus company. Its hot and some of my airport runs can get a little tough.😰

    • @alblua
      @alblua  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have two kinds! If you want sturdy, get a 5th wheel hook. It's a little hard to pack, but it's a much stronger and robust solution than the one you saw in the video. I only bring it if I know there's going to be a LOT of heavy luggage, and it pulls them well. For the one you saw in the video, look for a telescoping truck cargo grabber (or something along the lines of pickup truck bed grabber). The telescoping feature means it packs smaller, but it also tends to be flimsier and might struggle a little bit more with heavy bags.

    Nice video great picture quality. Who decides what bus is assigned to a line run? Did you drive your car or a coach back to Urbana the next day?

    • @alblua
      @alblua  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Our fleet coordinator and maintenance team work together to figure out where buses need to go. I have a place in Chicago to stay and then I usually ride as a passenger on a schedule bus back to Urbana

    How many does Peoria Charter buys brand new buses per year?

    • @alblua
      @alblua  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Usually only a couple per year, if any. Last year was a little different when we got all the new buses!

  • @superbrownsheep3777
    @superbrownsheep3777 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    have you gotten the inside scoop on their potential future buses? are they gonna buy Prevost H3-45s again soon? what was the feed back from drivers who drove the H3-45 that used to be with the company?
    also doesn’t that whistling on the vanhool bus get annoying? i know it would drive me crazy after some time

    • @alblua
      @alblua  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We already have 6 Prevost H3-45s! There are three 2020's of the older style, and three 2024's that are the redesigned 100 Edition. They're a favorite in the fleet among drivers and customers. The demo H3-45 you saw me drive was an experiment of sorts running H3-45's out of our Urbana facility.
      Yes, that whistling noise definitely drives me crazy too! All the older VanHools aren't particularly known for tight seals around the cracks (new ones have yet to stand the test of time).

      Sorry, I'm not Korean so I'll have to use the help of a translator! To be able to drive a bus in the US, you'll need to pass a DOT physical and obtain a CDL Class B with minimum passenger endorsement. Most buses have air brakes, so you'll need the air brake endorsement too. Charter endorsement allows you to transport K-12 passengers; not necessary, but will limit the type of trips you can drive.

    • @alblua

    Hey Alblua why do the paperwork before driving the coach????

    • @alblua
      @alblua  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I'm not sure what paperwork you're referring to in the video since I didn't include it. However, there are certain things a driver is required to complete before they can even move a bus for the day, which include vehicle inspection reports and HOS certification

    • @Kiwi_NZ610
      @Kiwi_NZ610 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh okay what about hours you have todo????

    • @alblua
      @alblua  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      DOT limits the hours you can drive and be on duty per day; you have to certify your records are correct for each day

    • @alblua

      All commercial drivers in the US must follow DOT regulations. This is standard and federal law across the industry for bus and truck drivers
