The reason why your conditioner doesn't work well is because it's a PROTEIN conditioner. Yes protein is good but there is such a thing as too much protein. Protein is for strength and Fletcher has a thick tail like you said, which means it's already strong. What you need is a hydrating conditioner with good slip, that will help a lot:)
Fogles Environmental yesssss !!! I have a chestnut paso fino , and I use mane n tail and I comb her tail whil the conditioner is in the tail and it’s super soft and flowy and I do the same thing for the mane but I love it so much !!
welll... that depends haha. You could use it on the tail but you really shouldn't use it on their body! Horses have natural greases in their coat to protect them from the weather and insects. If you use human shampoo you wash all of those out witch can cause irritation. HOrse shampoo doesn;t have those ingridient that wash out the greases
Mo has a RIDICULOUSLY thick tail. I use Mane and Tail. I like to brush it while i still have conditioner in, and then use dentagler after. Her tail is heavenly for a week without brushing through it.
The best conditioner you can use is "suave professionals sleek conditioner" it's a human conditioner, but it takes out knots for the thickest hair. it's a gray bottle with some orange text on it that you can find at Walmart, and they even sell packs with shampoo included. Just make sure to put conditioner in the tail, and then brush the hair, then wash.
I use the Kiss My Horse Dream Rinse conditioner. It leaves their mane and tails soo silky and soft! (and it smells like butterscotch) I used to buy it from the US but it was too expensive with postage so I imported it to sell through my business (Punk Ponies). I always spray the matching detangler into the tail while its wet as well and that way it can absorb it as it dries.
I like to use human conditioner, I find that the conditioner we use is the best! I usually like to find the best smelling one as well because then it makes there tail smell really good!
it is seriously amazing. My horse has a very thick tail and I start of with a nickel sized amount and work that into his tail and then use a tiny bit more in places that need it then use what ever is left on my hands on his mane. I am not kidding when I say that the tiniest amount gets out the toughest knots, please try some it is so so so good!!!!
the best conditioner i found, which i LOVE! is actually the american horse mane 'n' tail condition. i order it online, fairly cheap and it is soo good, no knots, or tangles and leaves it nice and silk clean, and if your horse has fuzzy/ frizzy hair it helps smooth it and grow it.
after washing the tail and conditioning it, while your horse is standing on the cross ties use vetrolin detangler and shine on their tail. it makes the tail shiny and knot free!!!!
I use Main and Tail conditioner, it works wonders for my horse Baron because he has a super think and big tail. I use the stray bottle. It really works!!
its not a conditioner but no more knots (sorry can't remember the brand you can find it at horseland and saddleworld all those places) is so good you just spray it onto the mane or tail where knots are and brush them out sooooo easy i get dreadlocks out with it thats how good it is.
I use cowboy magic. It’s more of a detangler and shine serum rather than a conditioner but it works SO well. And it’s a leave in product. Trust me, I have a friesian with A LOT of hair and it works extremely well
EQUIMINS products just do wonders. the detangling spray from that brand its amazing, you can spary the tail like only 4 times and it will keep the tail detangleed and super clean for the rest of the week. best detangles i ever tried
I make my own... shea butter from your local health store, coconut oil then a little bit of argan oil and add lavendar essence or essence of your choice :)
I use a garnier leave in conditioner (sleek and shine) I put it on before & after I ride/whenever I comb my horses mane and tail. It smells amazing, horses don’t react to it and it actually works really well. Adds shine and makes it’s super easy to detangle and a bonus it’s super cheap :)
You should get mane and tail conditioner. It is cheap and works really good. You have to really get it in there and I let it sit for like 5 min so it can soak in and after it has no tangles
I use human coconut natural conditioner not only does it make the mane and tail smell nice , it helps the mane and tail be knot free 100% recommend love your horse xx
How I get my horses tail knot free is I wash it with the Equinade Showsilk Protein Conditioner, once it's washed out I spray the bottom of the tail with Equinade Hair Polish while it's still damp, once it's dry I brush it with a dandy brush to avoid excessive breakage :) Hope this helps, love your videos! xx
I use the "mane and tail" brand conditioner. It works very well on my appaloosa's tail. His is quite thick, but it takes the tangles right out. I hope this helps!🙂👍🏼
Oml the horse that I usually ride at my barn loves knocking things off of everywhere. He also loves throwing his bridle off of it's little notch. He doesn't just make it drop off of it he throws it about a metre into the alleyway.
I have got a cool technique if you don't have someone's arm to use when cutting their tails... Get a brush and wedge it under their dock and it holds it up really nicely.
Try using baby oil in love of conditioner. It is gentle obviously because it is meant for baby’s so outs fine for horses. It’s really really good at detangling knots and making their tails shiny at the same time xx
Apple vinegar works very well as a conditioner for the tail and mane. You can also apply it with a wet cloth on the rest of the horse for extra shine, disinfection and fly/mosquito repeller :)
Ahh I know the struggle of horses eating stuff! I always leave hay bags with my young ones but they just destroy the hay bag then 🙄😂 loved the video btw xx
I’ve just found you chanel and have always wanted a horse and even live in an area for it but am so allergic. So now I can vicariously live through you
I love a thorough cleaning! :) So annoying when people leave out key areas and do patchy work when cleaning their animals. It might help though to start at the end of the tail and mane when brushing or using the rake and work your way up to work out tangles without tearing.
The Tresemme smooth anti frizz shampoo and conditioner worked really well! Left his tail really soft after which got so many of the dirty knots and stains out. I left the conditioner in for a while to let it soak which helped. Hope this helps :)
i just use human conditioner and the best technique is to comb the conditioner through the tail starting the the base of the tail and work your way up, after washing put it in a tail bag until it drys. results are amazing and the tail is so soft and no knots. if your scard of the hair coming out when combing, starting from the base and working your way up will pull almost no hair out it just take a little while. and cheep argon oil is good as if you want a really soft tail
Han Equestrian i would just be careful with the mtg, because it can tend to smell like bacon grease, but if you wash it out very thoroughly, it will be fine. a plus is it makes their tail grow thicker and faster!
Wow, just started watching this channel as I just started horse lessons (I don’t have a horse) and I am confused. Why on earth do you only have 34k subs. before I checked I thought u would have at least 1 million. By the way your channel is amazing. I think u deserve more😀like if u agree(by the way I’m not trying to shame u for not having 1 million subs
I actually use people conditioner. I like it better than special horse products and tend to be a lot cheaper! The one I am using now is aussie brand 3 minute conditioner.
Cowboy Magic has a conditioner that's for detangling, I use it on a horse with a pretty dense tail. I'm not sure if it's sold in Australia, but I hope this helps!
I use Gallop Color Enhancing Shampoo with my chestnut. They make one for bays, chestnuts and palominos, and black horses. I also use Cowboy Magic Conditioner, it’s great!
A good conditioner foryour horse is to use baby oil after your condithioner, and let it sit for 5 minutes. It makes shure that the hair is hydrated and smoth, can also be used on the coat to make sure its helthy, and shiny
my horse has a really dry tail and it’s always getting tangled and i use the KH apricot oil treatment, it’s like a leave in conditioner kind of but it’s AMAZING and it smells so good
Mane n' tail conditioner works really well and is made for horses!!! It's so good and works so well that humans use the shampoo and conditioner for their own hair!!!
No nots the only thing that actually conditions and gets out all knots (even in the middle of the tail!) I just dilute it so it lasts longer but it works the same 👌🏻
I’ve ridden a horse once, I am intimidated by their size but I love them . . . . Your video is just so fascinating and Fletcher is GORGEOUS! I am a red so I’m biased! 😊 But if I ever get a horse, I will know how to bathe him/her! ❤️
Hi Han I am also a Han and I just got my first horse. This video is a big help but we cant get to washing her bottom yet thanks for posting this video this is really going to help me with her Han x
High quality people conditioner as well as brushing it part by part cause their tail knots so easy and other than that, use coconut oil and olive oil on it every now and then :)
Cowboy magic is amazing also there’s something called cholesterol cream that’s a really hydrating conditioner and I love it so much it doesn’t smell super nice so it won’t attract bugs it’s perfect
Loved your video! For a conditioner/shampoo I swear by the kohnke's own shampoo- it makes the coat and mane/tail AMAZING, super soft and knot free, plus it's all natural so your aren't completely stripping natural oils of the horses coat. For extra conditioner for the tail I will sometimes use the Dressage Australia Tea Tree Oil conditioner (can be a little more expensive) but will totally get every knot out and make the tail amazing!!! Leyla Rustamova well it's still conditioner
Leyla Rustamova she said that she has tried a lot of different conditioners
The one she’s using is hydrating little protein
Rose Bates dude don’t fight her, she requested suggested for new conditions and ur fighting her on it like...
You mean good not “goo,d”
I use "main n tail" it's also a human shampoo but it says on the bottle that it can be used for animals too! I love it!
Fogles Environmental that’s what I use
Fogles Environmental SAME!!!!
Fogles Environmental I use it both on me and my horse and pets it works well makes the hair easy to comb
Golden Canter same
Fogles Environmental yesssss !!! I have a chestnut paso fino , and I use mane n tail and I comb her tail whil the conditioner is in the tail and it’s super soft and flowy and I do the same thing for the mane but I love it so much !!
Use coconut oil after you are done washing. It can be applied to a wet or dry mane and tail. It will make it very shiny and grow faster and healthier.
Baymaine S Thank you so much for the tip!!! My horse just recently got his tail chewed off so I'm looking for a good way to grow it back out again
Baymaine S I use that for my pigs lol I will try on my white cremillo quarter horse lol
Dont get it on the horses body though and leave it there cause in the sun burns the skin I've seen it happen plenty of times
Edward Harris ohhh okk
I use cowboy magic rose water conditioners it makes them smell good so so soft and no tangles
Dusty Willis that stuff is like magic!!!
madelinew santos It is cowboy MAGIC isn't it? ;)
yes i love that one
I love cowboy magic products
Dusty Willis Ya me too unless I get mad and tail for my b day
He's so beautiful. I love chestnuts. And my horse does the same thing - leave him for a minute and you'll find him untied with a brush in his mouth ;)
I just use human conditioner!! Find the cheapest one there is and use a whole lot of it 😂 also helps to brush the tail before it is completely dry
+Micky de Lange that is actually a really good idea 😂
welll... that depends haha. You could use it on the tail but you really shouldn't use it on their body! Horses have natural greases in their coat to protect them from the weather and insects. If you use human shampoo you wash all of those out witch can cause irritation. HOrse shampoo doesn;t have those ingridient that wash out the greases
Micky de Lange 7
same i use human shampoo sometimes when i run out of horse shampoo i use human shampoo until i get a new one
Mo has a RIDICULOUSLY thick tail. I use Mane and Tail. I like to brush it while i still have conditioner in, and then use dentagler after. Her tail is heavenly for a week without brushing through it.

THIS HORSE LOOKS SO PRETTY
I use the Kiss My Horse Dream Rinse conditioner. It leaves their mane and tails soo silky and soft! (and it smells like butterscotch) I used to buy it from the US but it was too expensive with postage so I imported it to sell through my business (Punk Ponies). I always spray the matching detangler into the tail while its wet as well and that way it can absorb it as it dries.
+Mary Baines butterscotch ! That sounds so good
Ooh I used to use that but then I got a palimino and I had to spend my money on whitening shampoo so I just use whatever I wash my own hair with
I really need to go back too it tho my pony’s tail smelt so amazing afterwards and it was super soft and silky
I love how you actually have the prices on the bottles because it makes it so much easier
I like to use human conditioner, I find that the conditioner we use is the best! I usually like to find the best smelling one as well because then it makes there tail smell really good!
It is not a conditioner, but the cowboy magic detangler works serious wonders!!!
+Amber Saint this brand keeps coming up in the comments so it must be good!
it is seriously amazing.
Not a conditioner, but Vetrolin detangled is the best for knots. Also coconut oil to helps the tail to grow.
Main and tail conditioner is pretty basic but tends to work well. I would recommend it
Horses First Main?
If you live here it’s also not to hard to find. I see it in drugstores a lot like CVS and sometimes in places like Walmart.
Dr show mane and tail detangler! Its like a leave in conditioner you put in after their tail is dry, literally the most amazing stuff!
He looks absolutely stunning!❤❤❤
the best conditioner i found, which i LOVE! is actually the american horse mane 'n' tail condition. i order it online, fairly cheap and it is soo good, no knots, or tangles and leaves it nice and silk clean, and if your horse has fuzzy/ frizzy hair it helps smooth it and grow it.

Winter Breyers Aussie Aussie Aussie
Thanks for making this video you taught me a lot about washing a horse now I know for in the future how to properly wash a horse
after washing the tail and conditioning it, while your horse is standing on the cross ties use vetrolin detangler and shine on their tail. it makes the tail shiny and knot free!!!!
Use the anti static spay from petway.. after you have used conditiner and rinsed.. spray the anti thoughout the tail and brush! knots melt away
best bathing routine I have ever seen
❤️
I use Pantene human conditioner!! It works amazing, I always leave just a tiny bit of it in and it makes their tails super soft and silky
Same it works really well
I use Main and Tail conditioner, it works wonders for my horse Baron because he has a super think and big tail. I use the stray bottle. It really works!!
I have a chestnut as well so seeing the exact products you use is really helpful for me!
Gorgeous shining horse with such a beautiful vibrant coat, I am in love ❤️❤️
i use cowboy magic, which sells detangler and shampoo/conditioner and i loooove it. it makes their tails/manes super soft and shiny!
its not a conditioner but no more knots (sorry can't remember the brand you can find it at horseland and saddleworld all those places) is so good you just spray it onto the mane or tail where knots are and brush them out sooooo easy i get dreadlocks out with it thats how good it is.
+Scout Hanna omg fletch gets dreadlocks sometimes and they r the worst to detangle!
I use cowboy magic. It’s more of a detangler and shine serum rather than a conditioner but it works SO well. And it’s a leave in product. Trust me, I have a friesian with A LOT of hair and it works extremely well
Seeing as you have a fresian I trust you haha
EQUIMINS products just do wonders. the detangling spray from that brand its amazing, you can spary the tail like only 4 times and it will keep the tail detangleed and super clean for the rest of the week. best detangles i ever tried
I've rewatched this video so many times bc your horse is just so gorgeous 😍😍
+Elin naw thank you.. he's pretty cute 😜
You should try the champion tails conditioner! I use that with the mrs conns sheen detangler spray and Beetle has a super soft silky tail!
I make my own... shea butter from your local health store, coconut oil then a little bit of argan oil and add lavendar essence or essence of your choice :)
This is so helpful! Now I am obsessed with the Bare equestrian pants I wear them everywhere in winter!

I use the "mane and tail" brand conditioner. It works very well on my appaloosa's tail. His is quite thick, but it takes the tangles right out. I hope this helps!🙂👍🏼
Finally a video with fletch
Oml the horse that I usually ride at my barn loves knocking things off of everywhere. He also loves throwing his bridle off of it's little notch. He doesn't just make it drop off of it he throws it about a metre into the alleyway.
+Snazzy Azzy hahaha this is literally fletch as well 😂
I have got a cool technique if you don't have someone's arm to use when cutting their tails... Get a brush and wedge it under their dock and it holds it up really nicely.
Where I work we put some baby oil into the conditioner. Makes it quite soft and shiny
If you don't have a helper when you trim tails you can use a polo wrap under the dock too
I have a feeling Fletch is happier with his hay than he is with you bathing him🤣🤣
I love the cowboy magic container.
"Main n tail" Works really well! It is for horses and humans! I use it for myself and my horses!
LOL, as long as there's snacks, he's all good with it!
+The Cat Ate My Shoe exactly right 😂
Absorbine showsheen. i spray a whole bunch when my horse's tail is wet and leave it in. i swear by that stuff
DAYUM Fletch looks gorgeous
Am I the only one who finds sweat scraping the most satisfying part
Use main and tail. I herd it’s really good and I actually I have used it for my hair! It makes hair super soft and shiny and is a miracle!!
I use cowboy magic detangler for my Arabian and her tail stays super nice for weeks.
Ahh I know the struggle of horses eating stuff! I always leave hay bags with my young ones but they just destroy the hay bag then 🙄😂 loved the video btw xx
+Badlands Pity Party haha I thinks it's a young horse thing they just have too much energy 😂
I’ve just found you chanel and have always wanted a horse and even live in an area for it but am so allergic. So now I can vicariously live through you
I don't even own a horse but this was so satisfying to watch.
At the end flitch looks so happy to be free from standing in one spot the whole time XD
His name is fletch not flitch
I love a thorough cleaning! :) So annoying when people leave out key areas and do patchy work when cleaning their animals. It might help though to start at the end of the tail and mane when brushing or using the rake and work your way up to work out tangles without tearing.

when my kittens would get eye infections (outside cats) I would use chamomile tea and it would get better within two to three days
If that's the case than you need to try Terissa May head to tail silk and shine conditioner I absolutely love the product and its also very cheap
I love your videos so much!! They never get old 😍
He is a thing of beauty!!!
i just use human conditioner and the best technique is to comb the conditioner through the tail starting the the base of the tail and work your way up, after washing put it in a tail bag until it drys. results are amazing and the tail is so soft and no knots. if your scard of the hair coming out when combing, starting from the base and working your way up will pull almost no hair out it just take a little while. and cheep argon oil is good as if you want a really soft tail
What are the tights you're wearing? They're super cute!
+Keelari they are from bare equestrian 🙂 I literally have not stopped wearing them they are so comfy
Just found your channel. Where have you been all my life?! Excellent content, I've subbed 😊
I use MTG oil. I have a Clydesdale/quarter mix and her talk is as thick as a clydesdales and the mtg oil completely detangles it!
+sadie smith that must be good shit!
Cowboy Magic has a conditioner that's for detangling, I use it on a horse with a pretty dense tail. I'm not sure if it's sold in Australia, but I hope this helps!
I love that stuff I don't think I could bathe my horse without it.
I use Gallop Color Enhancing Shampoo with my chestnut. They make one for bays, chestnuts and palominos, and black horses. I also use Cowboy Magic Conditioner, it’s great!
He is gorgeous! My baby Buttercup looks just like him! 🐴
He's so stunning omg
cowboy magic is a really good conditioner and u can u use when the tail is dry to
Coconut oil is the best, affordable, efficient, and leaves a glowing clean look. Plus it leaves it moisturized for days.
Mane and Tail!! It’s a great shampoo AND conditioner!
I have a western pleasure mare with a bay coat and THICK, LONG tail. I find "Cowboy Magic Rosewater" works best
Omg his tail when he runs 😍😍😍😍😍😍
A good conditioner foryour horse is to use baby oil after your condithioner, and let it sit for 5 minutes. It makes shure that the hair is hydrated and smoth, can also be used on the coat to make sure its helthy, and shiny
That horse is so beautiful !
my horse has a really dry tail and it’s always getting tangled and i use the KH apricot oil treatment, it’s like a leave in conditioner kind of but it’s AMAZING and it smells so good
My favorite conditioner is one for ogx in a blue bottle or one from Wella in a orange bottle
Try some vetrolin Detangler it also makes the mane/tail a really nice shine
Mane n' tail conditioner works really well and is made for horses!!! It's so good and works so well that humans use the shampoo and conditioner for their own hair!!!
This is the first video I saw and I subscribed as soon as I finished it
No nots the only thing that actually conditions and gets out all knots (even in the middle of the tail!)
I just dilute it so it lasts longer but it works the same 👌🏻
Your horse is so beautiful!! 😍
My gelding has a supper thick tail and mane and I use “cowboy magic” the condition is awesome!!
High quality people conditioner as well as brushing it part by part cause their tail knots so easy and other than that, use coconut oil and olive oil on it every now and then :)
Great video! Thanks.
I use the Mane and Tail shampoo and conditioner for my hair. I seen that horses can use it too.
you can use suave coconut as well sit worked on my hair I tried it and it worked great
Cowboy magic is amazing also there’s something called cholesterol cream that’s a really hydrating conditioner and I love it so much it doesn’t smell super nice so it won’t attract bugs it’s perfect
I get both products from horseland xxxxx
+Natasha Thomas I always see these and I have somehow never bought them! I may have to invest in the tea tree oil it sounds awesome!
your horses coat is legit so shiny i can't even❤️😍😂
