I just started reading some things about the speed of light and it sounds a lot like what you could talk about, very fascinating. Basically if you get close to the speed of light not just time but also space warps, everything in front of you is closer, that means if you go near speed of light towards andromeda, then it takes you millions of years to get there but you only feel a couple of minutes, and that is trippy by itself, until you see that photons that move at the speed of light travel no distance in no time, for a photon there is no time to travel anywhere, it’s just something connecting two points instantly, for us it’s like moving at a fixed speed, but if you were a photon you would just exist outside of times AND space.

I run into this problem of “the conscious/subconscious” of my dog every time he’s sleeping and I watch him dream. He’s very active in the dream state and that just makes my brain bend sideways if I believe that there is no real consciousness in animals…as if they do everything they do based on instinct alone. If that were true, he wouldn’t be running and barking while he sleeps…so I looked up which part of the brain is involved in the dream state and the internet told me it was the amygdala…which sounds crazy to me? Why would the fight or flight part of our brains control our dreams? This whole time I thought it was our subconscious mind…Will you please make that make sense to me, Tyrone?
The subconscious mind isn’t related to any one part of the brain. Likewise, we’re always using all parts of our brain, just certain parts are more involved in certain types of tasks. The mind and the brain are not the same either, the mind is not merely a physical phenomenon. The mind arises from the combination of consciousness working through the physical brain, it is a union of the two. Consciousness is an immaterial aspect of reality.
