Currently planning on barrel aging my own, much drier barleywine. Mine currently sits around 1.018-1.020 depending on how high an efficiency I get and the base taste is like an ESB turned up well past 11, mostly thanks to a huge amount of hops to allow for extended bottle conditioning
Any difference if you are fermenting the beer in the barrel? Do you need to wax the barrel? And presumably you want to leave a good bit of headspace for the fermentation.
Lucky you! So I either need to replace my wife or buy a new printer 😆 Anyway awesome content and I can't wait for the next video, skål from your neighboring country Sweden 🍻
@@WestumHjemmebryggeri i have brewd your hex and it have been sitting in an oak keg for about 1.5 years. id brewed a big boy stout an put in a barrel from @midwestbarrel fresh 6 months.
One of the best barrel aged beers I’ve ever watch. Very detailed brewing and aging process. Cheers
Thank you! 🍺😁 I’m glad to hear!

Mix the yeast in a pet bottle - noted! That's good idea!
And store bought water 😂 #lazy

That’s a thing I’m not familiar with, so I have no idea. I would check out foeders.
Jävlar vilken grym video =)

What kind of printer do you use for the lables?
Yeah, I’m kind of spoiled when it comes to that 😜 Both my wife and brother in law works with design/printing, so they print all my labels

Igjen, fantastik bra video Espen. Her var det mange gode tips å ta med seg!! Men spørsmål: Hvor kjøpte du Trizyme? Finner de bare i 5kg og oppover. 🤘

How long can I barrel age and still have enough yeast to bottle condition?
I have no idea, to be honest. There is carbonation yeasts out there like LalBrew CBC-1, but I don’t know how it would work after barrel-aging.
Why did you use dry extract this time and liquid in the jaevel?
@@TheImportBrewers the LME was sold out when I got the ingredients 😅
@@WestumHjemmebryggeri 🤣. Which one do you prefer?
@@TheImportBrewers liquid, for sure 😂
What did he used to back sweetening the beer??
If it’s the beer I talk about at 11:45 it was a blend of demerara sugar and maltodextrin
