The fact that you can explain how you annotate really impressed me! I started annotating books and already have no clue how to explain it but I know what I’m doing (sometimes) hahah
i don’t use post its, i only highlight and write in notes but this is my system: pink - romance orange - fav parts yellow - happy/funny green - important/plot twist blue - sad underlined - extra emphasis (write in any little extra thoughts or whatever) and then depending on the genre i’ll add another highlighter like if it’s a horror i’ll add one to highlight parts where it likes gets me on edge or was a really amazing plot twist
i did. forget to add that if i have a lot to say about a certain line or smth i highlight it and then put a post it note(like a full sized one) next to the highlighted line. on the post it note is the thoughts i had + a dot or small line of the same highlighted color as the highlighted line(so i know what line it goes with) so technically i do use post it’s, but i don’t use tabs. i hope this made sense
i love how diff people annotate books!! for school books my formula is - 🧡 plot; 💛 environment (flats, weather); 💚 characters; 💙 interesting thoughts; 🩷 love line; and for books i read just of my interest i just pick color which matches the cover and put it to my fav quotes

I've always wanted to annotate books and I just finished annotating my first one. I only used tabs though because I'm too scared to write in the books- so I'm not sure if that's considered annotating. but it makes my book look cool with all the tabs LMAO and there was a lot- the book was the silent patient, I definitely recommend it

I love the shatter me series so much, but Im so dissapointed because I read the first 3 at my library but they didn't have the rest of the books and now I really want to buy the rest but if I do I wont have the first ones, which just throws everything off course. When I saw the book shatter me I was like “ I just got the whole series plus the 3 explore series nice to see it on youtube 😊”. But anyway great vid❤
When I annotate i use ballpoint pens for notes because i find that my usual black pen (micron fineliner) really bleeds through the paper. Ballpoint pens don’t have gel ink so they don’t bleed nearly as much as the micron pens
