When Monty on the run, Last Ninja 2, Commando and Arkanoid all appear in the same compilation, it's a big 👍🏻 from me. Thanks for the top 30, you have great taste.
I just realized that International Karate is a Ryuichi Sakamoto song, Forbidden Colours from the soundtrack to "Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence"! :) Starts above at 0.59.55 ca I've been listening to both since they were new in the 80s and never noticed it until now! :)
I remembered, recording on audio-tape, songs of the C64. I Think I was the first to do that :) . Another visitor...stay it for...stay it forever! MOUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! hem sorry (the mouahahahaha is a french parodic written laugh) (mwahaha in english).
I too had cassettes with Hypaball, Terra Cresta, Judge Dredd, M.U.L.E, Uridium, Sanxion, Krakout, Monty Mole 2 and many more blasting out of a ghettoblaster on the beach in the mid 80's! :) Still got the tapes actually.
I didn't realize the Batman game was probably the first to utilize the "comic-book" view design. It took almost a decade for Comix Zone on the Genesis/MegaDrive to do that.
Commando high score music was always one of my favorites. #17 on the list. Back in the 80s, I'd record it to a TAPE CASSETTE and have 30 minutes of it nonstop!
One of my favourite tunes is "Cobra". But did you know that though it wasn´t featured in the movie, it is a track on the Soundtrack called "Skyline" by Sylvester Levay?
Batman - I always remember this game as the one where you needed to find false teeth to eat (health restoring) food - yet you found the teeth long after health was an issue!. Paperboy - Hard to believe you had such a TINY area of the screen to play in! Platoon - The game with the most pointless ammo counter ever. I used to tape the joy stick fire button and go eat lunch just to see what would happen if you ran out! (I cant remember, I was only seven at the time!) Shockway Rider - Glad to see someone else remember this game! Hug a mugger! Cybernoid 2 - One of the most recognizable classic soundtracks for the C64. Ghosts n Goblins - Another of the most recognizable classic tunes. Also a pretty weird game as regards conversions - the C64 version has a bigger field of view and so is superior to both the arcade and 16-bit versions! Great Giana Sisters - Shouldnt you have put the intro in rather than level music? GGS's intro is another video game classic! And yes the game itself is a blatant rip off of Mario, but back in the 80s and 90s Nintendo was a girls console in the western world and no boy would be seen dead with one. Great Giana Sisters (again, this time the intro) - oh you did ;) Auf Wiedershein Monty - Ron Hubbard *and* Ben Dalglish? 2 of the 3 greatest computer game musicians (Jochen Hippel being the 3rd, with Galway and Hulsbeck coming close) on the same game - shame the game itself was utter turd! IK - another classic. Ironically, relatively few people played this game, IK2 was the breakthrough, and more people started on IK2 and went back to IK for nostalgia reasons...
I beat Ghosts n' Goblins on C64 at the age of 12. In my 40s now at that still ranks as my Finest Hour.
Ever beat the arcade version?

some games deserved being buyed just for the music itself as well
1:10:42 is a master piece
Time stamps would have been lovely, but still nice to just see appreciation for the sid chip.
Do it! You can put them in your own post! It will be the top post!
4 years late! But now with timestamps. ( I had done timestamps before, but it was with YT´s old timestamp system.)
😁

Great Video! Loved it, and still love it today. 👍
But Commando got a 8 of 15? Ridiculous!!
These are all great! The only one I would replace would be IK for IK+ music wise.

Λλλλλλλ
Where is Druid 2?
You had to run several games TWICE?!? Really?? There was plenty enough games to run for two hours WITHOUT repeating anyone!
I Like Commodore 64 and Commodore 128 Computer . I Got Commodore 128 and Commodore 64 For Programs and Playing Video Games On Computer and TV.
Nice selection of great C64 music, well done.
it's 2024 and still play on the old commodore 64...
Glad I'm not the only one who likes the maze music from Mutants - damn hard game but great music.
Arkanoid is amazing. It's hard to believe it's C-64. I suppose he used that 4-th channel trick.
Bäst är ju lätt ghosts´n goblins :) Så jävla bra spel! Är ju även Dark Souls spirituella anfader till viss del :)
Jag har glömt arkadversionen musik till G&G.... den var också jäkligt bra!
How could International Karate get so low grades in the papers?! That game is awsome
great collection, I really enjoy listening!
This is sooo Great! Thank you sooo much for bringing the memories of my childhood back again 🙏

@@LarsTragel-zh7ei Thanks for sharing just looked it up. Awesome stuff
Remembers me of the "Death Wish 3"-Game, just a bit, i speak of Batman...
Solid choice dude. Long live the classics!

Last Ninja best be here (somewhere).
47:14 my favorite
Great vid. Shockway rider is amazing, it blew me away back then for the gameplay and the music!
I had a feeling No.1 would be the ocean loader.

thundercats? rampage ?
Very nice! I also loved krakout, Hypa Ball and trojan, but you can't ever complete a C64 greatest music list.
Very very very good selection. You clearly know what you are doing. 🙂
.. missing some good demo music, tho! (think twice iii, watch it!) :-)
Cracked by the Dynamic Duo!! yeah!!😎😏
nice selection, the only song i miss is supremacy...
You forgot Microprose Soccer lol!

Are you on drugs?!?! IK+, Mega Apocalypse, Robocop... some real stinkers in your list.

You mean Rob Hubbard! Not to be confused with L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology 😂
@@aleksanderbudzynowski3625 LOL missed that one!
