Thank you guys and Blaze for doing this interview. Basically Blaze is a business and retro gaming has a wide audience/potential for games. Blaze is trying to check lots of boxes and lots of categories at once. So….Atari Jaguar Collection 1 for 2025? Lol
Thanks for this session with Sean. My key takeaways: 1. 2025 slate of games is done/locked-in. More 32-bit to come. 2. They will drop feed announcements like in 2024 3. Some show cases and features to happen in 2025 4. No mouse and keyboard in 2025 5. Don’t expect SNK or Sega in 2025 but it is not for lack of effort 6. Cart mix will be broad based. Don’t expect a lot of indie in 2025, they scraping bottom of barrel now 7. 2023 cart year was a good year by their standards 8. They don’t know where they are in 5 years time. They are just pushing through it. 9. Not everything is for you. Give Blaze some love once in a while. They are really trying their best. 10. Biggest sellers are the big names like - Duke Nukem, Tomb Raider, Soul Reaver
Great stream, I think is important for developers to interact this way. We can see they are passionate regular people doing the best they can.I've been playing games since 79, Space Invaders, and got into retro gaming in 05, in the UK, actually. Evercade seemed to me redundant at first, and I didn't like the first console, particularly. The lastest hardware and new releases changed my mind. We'll see if we can get more arcade cartridges and home computers done right. This is a very broad platform, I don't see the need to play the original Tomb Raiders, but I understand some people do. I don't think Evercade can compete with the Switch, which it got Taito physical releases - if we can call it that. Hopefully, the studios will grant more licenses, if not, it's going to struggle. It seems that they are pushing that envelope using hardware releases. But you can't do it forever.
The reason why the Alpha does not have an HDMI out is because Capcom does not want people to be able to play Capcom against each other on a TV via an evercade device. That's why there won't be a Capcom cart. That story about small European houses is also bullshit in outer space. I live in an average house in Europe. Enough space for a normal sized table top. Most people I know even have a room available for their hobby
@@dirkb9788 I live in Asia. A tabletop any bigger would not have found the space nor the budget. There had to be a sweet spot and they found it. Maybe you would have bought a bigger device but another ten people would not have.
Quite disappointed by this interview. I wish I was there to ask all the questions I have... By the way, is there a possibility to send Sean a mail ? I think not but it would be silly not to ask 😅
What questions would you have asked? Why were you disappointed? Most people really enjoyed it. Makes me wonder if you even watched the full video and we covered a lot.
@Evercade_Effect of course I watched the full video ;) I'm disappointed because 2/3 of the video was about the Alpha, which I have absolutely no interest for. I had the feeling it was more a promo than a real interview but it's okay, it's just I didn't have any info I came for, especially about future collaboration with indie studios, double games cartridge, neo retro gaming, pack of sport and racing games, Unity on the dev kit, and so much I forget... So yes, you talked about a lot of things which were not relevant to me, so I'm quite disappointed. Can I ?

No, Sean said it was the cost as they would need to use more powerful hardware to out put to bigger displays.
Quite disappointed by this interview.

@evok993 I'm glad to see your problem as everyone else enjoyed it. 😋
@@Evercade_Effect sorry, I didn't mean that I didn't like the vidéo, interactions were great ;)
