That carcass is still in there, found the skull about 200 feet outside the mine. It's a bighorn ribcage. When I was inside I heard rocks falling from above the portal on the outside. Right now I'd bleaching the skull.
way way back and deep, theres a tunnel that is closed off with wedged rocks. it continues but move any of the rocks, the wet roof starts to crumble. its down where the river is. see it? ideas?
I was scared on the edge of my seat when you went solo down into the mine with all that sign of bears around. I would explore old zinc mines when I was a kid in the Catskill Mountains of NY. Never was afraid I'd meet a bear in there but thinking back now... I probably should have been worried. I ran into a black bear once when I was trout fishing on a hike deep in the forests of Virginia. It was fearless and walked right up to me, I froze, it walked on by and left me shaking. I took that as a warning and never went back to that spot again. I'm afraid of bears ever since that day. Another great video. Thank you for sharing.
Killer video, Alan. Nice pack, I've got the Aether 70. I love how comfortable it is. I've got major back problems and I also love the hip belt. Feels really good!
Went back to the east fork last year, and other than a lot less water it is still magical. (30 + years later) Even after going all over the U.S. and to a few places around the world that canyon is one of my favorites. Don't be in such a hurry to "move on" the next stop will still be there tomorrow. Besides how would "WE" get by without your videos?
thanks William, every time I say William, I "in my head" say it in a throaty drawn out yell, as in Under world when he called for his brother. Also, when ever I say or ask for lemon aid, I "in my head" hear Eddie murphy, say/sing lemon-aid. My head if filled with magic :-)
This looks like it was a really fun trip. I would love to see the fig tree mine and even climb the top of that same hill with you. Ya gotta luv the East Fork! I will, however, venture underground in new places before I ever fly on that psycho-bunjee string haha!!
I just got back from east fork today and couldn't find that cave you mentioned a while back ago. East Fork parking lot. That's okay I had a fine breakfast this morning at Shoemaker road. next time.
your crazy brother lol.if that was me.I'd keep a few bangers from bonfire night throw a couple in.then wait.nice vid though.you sure get about lol.regards to you & your family pharroah.
no but they like humans squatters are opportunist and this mine, not cave they may see it as an option or possibly a mountain lion for the same reason and you can't outrun either one you might as well face your attacker and take what's coming to you
Thanks for watching. In another video I think it's called exploring exploring minds or something like that my friend Robert and I go back in there and then follow it down at least six or seven levels till we hit an underground river and then we follow that as far as you can. For some reason it got really hot in there we nicknamed it portal to Mordor
Great video how funny to run into guys from Hemet ca that's where I grew up grad in 86 tell them to go look in Bautista canyon for gold it's a lot closer
Litterally stop checking my daughter's math hw to give way for this 2-part video. Never disappointed, great adventure you had. Does the mine has a name?
Hey Alan, next time you're up near the Annex Mine walk up above it about 50 feet. You'll find the old PL & P trail, built in 1917. You can see some photos of it here... www.secretmines.com/p/blog-page_1.html Love your videos dude.
Mine Finder yes I walked on that for a while funny thing you mentioned this I was thinking about taking it this weekend as far back as I can go north and then bear off to the west to the top of the crest and walked back
Hey so I have a question, I live in duarte right next to Azusa and next to the wash, and I'm also in Boy Scouts, me and one of my good friends loves all your videos and we wanted to go visit a mine and go backpacking, so we were wondering where the closest mine is from the part of Azusa that has houses in it in the mountains. And by the way you and your channel are our inspiration to start our own videos like you
Nick Mars the will Heaton mine, 150' before the Heaton flats camp grounds. on the east side of the trail, a 4 minute walk off the main trail, towards the saddle. so about a hundred and fifty feet before you hit the restrooms look on your right for a dirt footpath going into the brush all of that 4 minutes you will find two structures and then gold mine
+PHARRAOH that area has always creeped me out man😂lots of wildlife in the area, there's 2 new mountain lion cubs in the canyon too👍 awesome vid as always, missed ya on this one but I got a bathroom remodel going on🙄
Just curious, I see in alot of your videos that you yell "Hey Bear" before entering. Has your calls ever been returned? Also, what if the bear you find is the silent type?
Clay C. you yell to let them know you're there just as bear Bells let them know hikers are in the area you startle a bear they go into Attack Mode if they know you're coming for the most part they get out of the way
Clay C. a friend of mine one of the local Prospectors and used to hang out in the mountains about a decade back always yelled this when going into a mine or cave. one day he yelled it on the way in he didn't yell it from the outside and give him a second to see if he hears any noise, he just walked in while yelling it a bear ran right past him he's lucky the bear didn't run right over him or stop and attack him I always do it from the outside standing to one side ready to run or climb you don't want to scare or pissed off a bear for sure
will that be the grave of pharraoh one day when the bear or mountain lion leaves you like the deer.i think i would have held on to my pistol.be safe oh fearless one.
I dont carry ANY weapons, No need and I welcome the thought of a bear charging me down, it sounds weird but inside, I am ready. I wish to trade this life for something new. I was half was disappointed when he failed to come out. I thought for sure, that was my day to move on
Awesome! That shot of the big horn is way cool. Love the east fork area

Did they get rid of the Zip Line?
it never got finished, couldn't get it cleared for public use.
Good..... I don't like people doing things like that to that area. I wish the bungi jumping would be thrown out too.
