    Today we hear the Combat Story of Jack Carr, who many of us know as the author and creator of the book series and Amazon hit show Terminal List. Before becoming an accomplished author, Jack was a Navy SEAL, both enlisted and as an officer. He served as a sniper, led a platoon, and even a Task Force in combat.
    Jack is one of the most well-read people we’ve ever interviewed and has had tremendous success as a creator, SEAL, husband, father, and outdoorsman. I gravitated to Terminal List on Amazon because it so authentically depicts the emotions of a combat veteran and because it features a secondary character from Zimbabwe that elicits an amazing background that is so familiar to me from my upbringing in that part of the world (and that Jack and I speak about as we kick off the show).
    Jack is releasing his sixth book “Only the Dead” on May 16th and, if it’s anything like the first five, is sure to be great.

    I can vouch that Jack Carr is the real deal. He sent me a signed Terminal List book during a time I was dealing with a lot of stress. His book series one of the best I’ve read. True Believer is a great go-to when you need to find balance. I am forever grateful to him.

    I was just looking for a new show to watch,I found it very interesting that the “tomatometer” score was only a 39% but the audience score (what really matters) is 95% with 5,000+ reviews,can’t wait to give it a try

      The woke nonsense even made it into that show. They replaced the hot Eastern European blonde (who is one of the most important characters in the book series) with an unattractive asian woman.

      Generally critics suck. Can you imagine critique of someone else’s work because you can’t create? Also generally on the woke politically correct parade

    I can understand reading without filters when you are young. I always read books about explorers like Jim Bridger, Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone and others. I could place myself right there with them as they were blazing trails through the wilderness. That gave me the love of outdoors. Still do to this day, 60+ years later.

    He has a very underrated TH-cam channel. Also he has an interview he did with one of the Black Hawk Down Delta Force dudes Kyle Lamb where they had what felt like an a extremely awkward 'inside baseball' type exchange when the subject of stoicism came up. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend you try to find that show and see for yourselves. To me it definitely felt like an inside thing going on between the two lol

      I've been listening to that podcast for only about 30 mins. Totally worth it for me, just searched both their names and danger close. It's the longer the two podcasts between them

    • @xymoriintus
      @xymoriintus ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What did you think about that exchange? It was awkward as hell wasn't it? Their was definitely something more than meets the eye to that whole stoicism conversation lol

      Yeah I still haven’t finished that episode after I got to that point. Idk if I should. It’s a bit of an OOF.

    • @xymoriintus
      @xymoriintus ปีที่แล้ว

      It really is awkward and hard to miss once you see what's happening LOL I mean I wonder what the hell conversation took place before the start of the podcast. Seriously, I feel like their was some sort of agreement where Jack Carr had to publicly admit his faults or at least acknowledge them in a public setting.
      I know it seems like I'm reading deep into that, but trust me. Seek this episode out and once you come to that point in the show you'll instantly see what I'm talking about.
      Lol alright I'm done commenting on it... For now

      I heard that episode. I had to pause deeply during that show. Most people just don't realize how greatful forces on the ground are to those guys and gals in the skies.

    Show was great, but I recently finished the first book and it completely blows away the series. Show is a solid 8.5/10 for me - the audiobook a 10/10.

    Combat story is probably one of the best shows I''ve listened to. I also enjoy Jack Carr's books, you can hear a bit of himself in them.
    I'm expectantly waiting for season 2 of The Terminal list. The only thing that hit me the most in season 1 was the symbolism of the bird hitting the window. DEEP! I causes a person to take along and thoughtful pause.

    When he talks about the stigma the Teams endured of guys getting out and writing books, I had a pause. There was a running joke about SEALs and book deals. He got out and wrote fiction thrillers that never told the story of how his Hell Week was the worst ever. And that's why he will be regarded as a professional unlike others.
    I remember reading several books to thoroughly familiarize myself with the SEALs. And then Marcinko published one just a few short months before I went to boot camp. I had no idea how wrong (and yet so right) his book was and how it would create an entire generation of SEALs that would pull the curtain away and expose who they were. Jack Carr exposed fiction coupled with experience and gave me some good entertainment. Bravo Zulu to him!

    Im a big fan of Jack. And of the Terminal list. All this success and he still seems just a normal guy. No big ego or attitude that I can detect.
    Im a bit ashamed to admit I have not read any of his books yet...I do a lot of reading and listening to books. My problem is I have so many on my list to read Im years behind... I also read the Most Dangerous Game in the 6th Grade. Recently I found the original movie on youtube along with the audio book and watched and listened again...Im going to get to his books sooner or later.

    Being dying to know if he actually did anything or just had a good imagination.
    Essentially he writes about everything he wish he had done.
