Friends and I at school would sing this song time and time again, we loved it! Great theme tunes back then and such good shows for children, unlike now.
My hubby worked on a local radio station in the 80's with the man that wrote this theme. He was a real character. Sadly no longer with us, he lived life hard and to the fullest 🙂
Thank you for a nostalgic trip down memory lane 🙏🙏 I was 16 when I watched this lovely little series...... simple, no frills, beautifully acted. I'm 65 now.
Yes nostalgic trip, used to love Follyfoot, watched it second time round when they re-aired it. As you say such simple series back then, nothing like it on tv today.
I got the DVDs of it last year. I love everything about it except it ended all too soon (sigh). Very catchy theme tune. TV was great for kids from the 1960s through the 70s. Tom Grattan’s War was another favourite of mine. I got that series too but my collecting of the children’s tv series I loved, began when I came across the theme tune for The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe starring Robert Hoffmann as Robinson Crusoe. There were plenty great series back then. I remember watching The World At War series with my dad. The theme tune by Carl Davis is hauntingly beautiful and the Narration by Sir Laurence Olivier is superb. I’m in the second half of my 60s now.
as a kid in the earlyish 70's age about 11-12, my m8 & I used to regularly cycle through the village of follifoot nr harrogate on our way for a day out in knaresborough. I remember watching follyfoot on the TV and we thought it was actually filmed and about there, and i never really noticed till now it's spelt slightly different lol, anyhoo happy days !!
As a 15 year old I had the hots for Dora. Years of smoking took its toll and gave her a gravelly voice and like me shy didn’t age too well either. Her husband was killed in a car crash many years ago. I loved the TV series and have all the episodes as they are available on 3 DVD’s
Nothing much happened in this program. Loved Arthur English in everything he did . Dora had a permanently furrowed brow all the time. It had a spooky feeling ( as the late great Dame Edna would say) that program for me.
It's pure coincidence, but my family & I (also) lived in Buckingham (the County town) in the 70's when this show aired....I had no idea at the time that Blake had been born there...stranger than fiction...
This needs The Lightning Tree theme song for authentic Follyfoot fans..🐎🐎🐎
Exactly what I was thinking.
you tube probaly de monetize..completly ruining music of all kinds on here
Or at least some music that is vaguely reminiscent of 'The Lightning Tree'.
Yeah good point
The Lightning Tree theme song is here on youtube. It's what brought me to this video.
I always remember the theme song to this show, "The Lightning Tree"

I too, Peter...
I loved Folly foot.
A great theme song....

@@gemmawilson3226 Absolutely 💯 👌
Loved this , used to watch this religiously. Loved the Lightnening Tree theme song also. Such a simpler time.

Loved this programme, thanks for the update.

Dora lived the best life of many, many, little horse loving girls 😀
Still one of the best theme tunes ever, too.
I loved Follyfoot.

He was a lot older than her.
I remember watching this with my sister when I was a young lad. My memories are of a female character always seeming to be in tears! Quite depressing.
😂
You must be talking about Dora.
Christian Rodska (Rodskjaer), actor, born 5 September 1945; died 21 March 2024
God that brings memories back.
Nothing ever really happened but on a Sunday we all tuned in hoping something might, but it rarely did still the theme was memorable
...and in the last episode diddnt Dora spot growth on the tree?

Yes, I was 'emotionally attached' to Dora, as well...still am...
Always had a huge crush on Gillian Blake ..💕💕💕
I’m not sure that is Steve Hodson!
That second photo is not Steve Hudson. If you want a photograph watch Follyfoot forum.

Anyone else remember Christian Rodska as the voice of Agar, Son of Athar from BBC Radio 4's Tolkien parody Hordes of the Things?

Couldn't wait to watch this on weekly and I so wanted to be Dora I Was 11 ah thank you
Ah yeah, lovely Dora. Used to watch every Sunday teatime.
Brilliant the theme tune, was so good
I thought that this show was a load of crap but my younger sister used to watch it so I had no choice as we only had one tv back then.
one episode was was filmed near me at thornhill pit
Used to love it I fancied Dora even though she was always crying
Yes like the Theme song 🎶🎶 should have played it 🎵🎵👍
Had a 'crush' on lovely Dora.
Good series. 👍
Arthur English also in in sickness and in health
Who performs this disco instrumental track? I like it, even if it had nothing to do with the original Mollyfoot.
Wasn't Dennis Waterman in follyfoot
Christian Rodska RIP passed away 21/03/24 from cancer
Can you make the writing any smaller???😮🙄
brilliant
She was always crying 🤣🤣
She could never find the love she craved.
Christian Rodska has passed on since this was made. :(
I couldnt follow the lyrics. Then again i was 6 or 7 ( found them too fast).
Sadly, Christian Rodska died recently,
I dont give a damm where they are now. I hated that theme tune
Bugger off then
Of course you do your name says it all!
Miserable old goat!
Can you say why you hated it?
@@pauldeegan6652 high pitch voices , violins, just didn't agree with me
