FOR LEFT HANDED SHOOTERS WEARING IWB: There is no way to configure the stand off part so take that into account, the screw and the bolt as a unique right handed configuration that is not mentioned on the video (actually the left handed config is shown but no word about the stand off). I’m new to the gun world but as a left handed user I have been around the reviews and videos that I consider clear and friendly to add my comment concerning lefties. Good video and keep the good job!
You know one of the reasons on why am a patron of yours is because of your info videos that are obviously no longer on TH-cam but are linked somewhere else.. you’ve made so many upgrades to your Glocks your videos are priceless.. seems the older I get the less I can remember.. thanks
My first holster was a fobus paddle holster and I loved it. I shot action pistol with it for a year and never had a single problem. I still use the fobus paddle-style double mag pouch.
I just picked up one of these holsters for my Glock 43x MOS. The low profile design allows for a RDS with zero issues. Being a lefty, this holster is a great option. I really like the quick change to the paddle for OWB. I carried yesterday for about 10 hours in AIWB and hip IWB. In the hip position, I nearly forgot it was there. The only downside for us southpaws is the tab is for RH carry only. I have a Bladetech holster that has the same feature but it came with two tabs (one for righty and one for lefty). One thing to note is there is a different version for a railed 43x than the unrailed 43. APN43 vs APN43x.
My Fobus paddle holster snapped in half! the paddle split rite off it! I loved how small and light it was, but the lightness of it hindered it's durability.
True words. Holsters are so personal. You have to have one that is well made, comfortable to you, and retains the weapon well. What works for one will be hated by another. That is an interesting holster. I like it being ambi. (it stinks being a lefty!) I like a 3D Belt Co belt. Price is good and they are made of outstandingly tough leather.
Like you, I also have boxes of holsters. However, I do not have any dedicated left-hand holsters, be it as I am right-handed. The ambidextrous feature is a great selling point. I’m going to buy one. Hell I might buy two.
@@herpshnerp what is a party? Never been invited! In high school I had a 73 Dodge Polara Custom 2 door. It was 23ft long, the two paisley bench seats held 8 comfortably. You could put 3 or 4 in the trunk to save $ at the drive in. This was in the early 90's. Now I don't even have 8 friends.
I have a Fobus OWB paddle for my Shield 9 on the few occasions when I OC. I like it. I have another brand for my EDC IWB. I will pass on this one. More parts equals more problems. Breakage and losing parts.
I carry my glock 26 in a fobus paddle holster owb. No noticed print. I tried the blackhawk and a couple other but the paddle was to big and uncomfortable. No problems as yet.
Yeah that seems like a lot of material for another plastic holster. Check out how cool 😎 Falco can make a leather wrapped thin kydex that can support any light if you wish custom out the arse! Black leather, red stitching, took 2 months from ding to dong, I’ll own it forever soooooooo comfortable! Hyena I believe mine is called, under a $100!!! Like $94 delivered
I really wanted to like this holster. First time I withdrew the (empty) Shield Plus, the magazine popped out. 😳 I tried a few adjustments, belt hook angle, including removing the sweat guard. No go. There's no way to grip the Shield Plus in a way that ensures my thumb won't at least brush the mag release (hazards of having long orangutan thumbs, I reckon). There's way too much retention for an IWB holster, but not enough of a hook on the belt attachment to be sure the entire rig - pistol and holster - won't come out together. Or, that the snap-on belt clip won't pop out. And, at least with the sample I purchased at Academy, it didn't include the OWB attachments to try other carry options. Unfortunately the only other holster Academy had in stock, the MFT brand IWB model, also tended to force a grip that popped the mag release, which another TH-cam channel demonstrated with the Shield Plus.
I like it. I like the modular aspect and the price. I'll likely invest in one. I too have to deal with someone in the area that has one of those rattle trap loud exhaust. It isn't headers with a good set of cherry bombs or flow masters attached to the header, it is some kind of coffee can with a baffle in it that sounds terrible to me.
I don't like holsters without a weapon retention system to stop them falling out if they catch on something or are grabbed by an attacker. Pretty sure the best carry method is a small revolver like the Ruger LCR (9mm) or S&W 642 NO LOCK in a lined vest or jacket pocket so you can discreetly have your hand on the gun and if necessary fire through the pocket without causing a stoppage.
It seems like that stand off might get in the way a bit when you draw. The clearance to the grip seems narrow. Did you experience that issue? Great review!
Before I even watch the video, I’m going to take a wild guess and say Sootch loves the item he’s reviewing. There’s a word for that, someone who never has a negative to say about a product
The safety comes from you. Look at your holster everytime you re holster. A wise man once said there will be a lot of times you have to draw quick. Very less time youll ever have to reholster quickly. If you look down when reholstering both are equally as safe. Edit. Don't do what he's doing lookin cool lookin at the target drawing and reholstering.
@@TrustJesusisenough he’s not doing that to “look cool”. He is maintaining situational awareness by never taking his eyes off of what he’s engaging. Please don’t be an internet commando with 2 tours in world of Warcraft lol. You come off as an idiot
Having an attachment between the paddle and the holster is a bad idea, looks like someone could snatch it right off your belt when used owb. I had a serpa paddle holster do the same thing years ago and it's not a good feeling. Stick with iwb if you have this one would be my advice
Does anyone have any experience with whitehat holsters. I just bought a streamlight tlr7 for my Ruger Security 9 and literally the only company that sold a holster guaranteed to fit it was white hat. Checked Alien Gear, Fobus, Crossbreed, Galco etc.
I really hate that statement as an Atheist lol. Freedom of religion and speech but I'm still forced to say God bless America 😂 Zues bless America! And by America I don't mean the Americas, I mean the United States of America..... Cause America is Chile... Cuba.... Canada... Etc.
I have an APN for my shield but it did not come with the extra paddle or the belt clip was parts missing out of the package or do you have to buy extra
A pistol is not a piece of jewelry, its a tool, much like wire cutters or channel locks. Most people won't care when any tool has wear marks on it as long as it perfoms its job.
I like the idea. Looks good, but for me that wing would impede on drawing for me and it also looked like it would impede sootches draw. Not enough space for knuckles.

Loved the outtakes at the end.😂
I’ll be worried about the clip popping off when carrying owb
iwb it wouldn’t be a problem

Great video. Hope you do more like this. If someone is going to carry to where their gun can be seen they need to practice retention.
Just ordered one!
I love my fobus holsters and mag carrier
I applaud your usage of the three syllable word ambidextrous rather than the oft used incorrect four syllable version.
You must be fun at parties

At the pistol classes I have attended, Fobus was the one not recommended.
thats a new one. usually its Blackhawk
A friend told me about the Fobus holster. I love the way they fit and perform. “ Thanks Barry “!!!
I love my Nate Squared holster for my Glock 32c, which is the same size as a Glock 19, but I want to try one of these.
I have this holster for my shield plus, great holster, I really like it. Made in Israel
Wish they made these to accommodate a light.
Sootch that belt has seen better days. Lol
I have newer ones but this one is super comfortable..... like an old pair of jeans.
Thumbs up and shared let Mr Skinny Medic know two of his shirts turned up at my home today. :)

All they did was copy Alien Gears system from 3-4yrs ago.
awesome review!
I just ordered the apn system from them
Be cool if they made a side car attachment for a mag! Then it would be perfect.

Hey Sootch. Great job. Good info. I think if someone were going to snatch your pistol, they would probably just leave the holster hanging there.
The best holster out there is the safariland holsters.
Muy bueno tu vídeo saludos desde Argentina
I have some nice leather that I'll stick with. I think printing is over rated. If It's under a shirt the only peep that notice are other carriers.

Yes

How comfortable is this holster sitting down you have to get a couple size larger waist pants
Would the P10C fit that holster?
You did not show the back of the sweat guard or talk about how grippy it might be or does it slip. I have found that most backs are rather slick.

Oof idk about a holster that can be ripped completely off the backing or belt clips with minimal effort... especially in owb configuration
whats the function of the wing? Im left handed, so ill be getting one of these, Thanks Sooch
It's for aiwb the claw/wing helps by pushing the grip against your body to prevent printing.
