Took ceramics before and I think people really underestimate how difficult the craft is. You make it look effortless and that really shows how much experience and dedication you devote to creating ceramics! 💖💖
I was like: “AAAAA! NOOOOOOO” As an amateur at pottery I feel your pain. I stepped on the pedal while removing one of my plates (blobs really) from the wheel and it did that floppy thing before dislodging and going into the moat thing
ah i love the authenticity of this video! you can hear the backgrounds, you setting the camera up and bringing it around. i find it very pleasing and relaxing. keep it up !! 😍🥰
Love the vids, I don’t know one bit about making things out of clay or throwing but I do know that watching this makes me want to learn. Keep up the good work!
I’m in a ceramics class as of now and I’ve done some work on the wheel before, it’s very hard and you need a lot of strength to not have the clay push you around. If you are interested in trying I definitely recommend it tho, it’s super fun!!!
00:43 I was literally shocked and screaming here... His/her all hardwork went on vain .... If I were at your place... I would have cursed and cried for litrally hours ... Tbh I don't know pottery but I do want to learn it... It seems a really great thing to learn and do... This was a great video... You're so great at it...
Thank you for this great video. Your journey had encouraged me to experiment and learn to throw larger. I love the trimming detail. Trimming is something I’ve kind of learned on my own, so thank you! All your videos teach me something, so keep up the excellent work.
If you were able to get a pottery wheel with studs so you can use a bat on it without grabbing your pottery, would you do that? or do you like what you have already and you don't mind grabbing your finish piece?
I should really do that for some pieces but I like being able to pick individual pieces off without the use of batts, it means there's less faffing around but for some vessels I should get some studded batts.
I needed this. I’m fucking stressed about starting at a new school tomorrow because I didn’t have to good of experiences at the last schools so I can’t really sleep. Thank you. This saved my nights rest as it is about 11:30 pm rn
I literally can barely throw a cylinder on the wheel, much less a whole bowl. Do you have any tips about raising the sides, because I can never seem to do it right?
@Florian Gadsby That first one was so nice and the one you made to replace it was just excellent but I’m honestly confused what happened what were you trying to do? I don’t know anything about this stuff and I’d like to try some very basic stuff, have you any recommendations? I work with model clay and I do whittling so I’d like to expand. Thank you for your time and keep up your stellar work
Find a community college class to learn the basics of tools and skill. Also could help with a connection to a kiln. The kiln is the thing that is out of reach for most novices

The potter's wheel is such a simple and efficient ancient tool, it's easy to see how it inspired the creation of lathes.

does pottery make your back hurt cause sometimes you’re changing your position a lot and I was thinking it might hurt your back

What is purpose of weighing the clay before making something 🤔🤔
Weighing it could help if you want a certain(estimated) size. Or because if you do it for a class sometimes it needs to be an exact weight
I saw at some of ur short vid, ye, the pottery fail, but u can fix the pottery fail 😁
