Hank has a habit of giving folks who deserve it a voice on TH-cam to share their enthusiasm of whatever it is they're passionate about. Jessie from Animal Wonders, Lindsey from Sexplainations and Emily from The Brain Scoop are some that jump to mind. Jimmy seems like he should have a voice too. He's funny, knowledgeable and confident, as well as fast thinker. Hopefully we'll see more of him.
Hye, Hank! The SciShow Talk Show is also my favorite part of SciShow. Your guests are always awesome people doing awesome things! Thanks always for sharing!
Jimmy is hilarious! It is a rare moment I am not thinking "When is Jessi coming on with the animal..." :p I also liked hearing about project MINERVA. - Heidi
This was amazing. A++ for Jimmy Henderson, and also kudos for really good explanations (as an astrophysicist who has dabbled into the world of exoplanet research, I know it can be a bit difficult to present these things to the general public)
I have been so happy lately! My science teacher has been showing us some Scishow along with TedEd and some other channels but everybody prefers Scishow...Props to you and your staff for making science even more interesting that it already is.
This guy seems really comfortable in front of the camera, and was able to give consistent information, he wasnt all over the place like some of the people are. Loved this video.
Lol! xD Jimmy Henderson's humor and way of talking combined with the little black dragon with huge eyes at the end reminded me of Hiccup and Toothless so bad...
You two have a great synergy. Most of it seemed just like a unscripted conversation between two nerds and I love it. Could have listened to it for more than just 20 minutes.
Well if you can talk about the observation of hydrogen spectra lines from impossibly far away celestial bodies, what that data means, how that data is collected over time and organized in order to help glean an understanding of the nature of the universe and be as funny and easy going as you are, then who am I to nit pick. Good day and many more I bid you.
The science we humans can do amazes me. Not just that we can understand things like this, but that it even occurred to anyone to discover planets by using shifting black lines.
I have only made it half way through this video and I had to stop and say just how much I want to be friends with this guy they have as a guest today. I too am studying astronomy, love lizards and play skyrim. Is this me as a man?
This is why I watch scishow I learn stuff and get entertained, this is what school should have been like. I only have a few good memories of school being fun , mostly from history lessons because my teacher was an re-enactor and brought in his axe and shield once, he killed his shield by throwing his axe into it, he was sad, it was new.
Most star names are just the catalogue name (like NGC) and a number or the constellation they're in and how they rank luminosity-wise in that constellation. Eta Carinae, for example, is the seventh brightest star within the "borders" (fairly arbitrary lines that divide the sky into constellations) of Carina, the Keel.
Around 6:27 Hank did the same thing I do all the time. Just randomly move my hand and make a noise. No matter what's going on, I will do it at least daily unless I'm around just myself like the whole day.
Once, there was a wandering dervish of great piety and faith who was starving and lost in the desert. As he was walking along an old pathway in search of something to eat, he found an empty fruit sack that had been thrown by the road by a previous passer-by. The dervish picked up the sack and swung it over his shoulder while praying loudly, “Thank God for giving a starving man an empty sack of fruit,” as he continued to walk. After he walked some more, he came across on old hunting bow whose string was broken. He picked up the bow and put it in his sack, and prayed out loud, “Thank God for giving a starving man a hunting bow with a broken string.” A bit further down the road, he saw an old tree that was dead and bore no fruit. He broke a few dry branches off of the old tree and put them in his sack, and again said loudly, “Thank God for leading a starving man to a dead fruit tree,” and then he continued his way. He walked some more and found a dented old cooking pot. He picked up the old pot off the ground, blew the dust off of it and put it in his sack too. He again loudly prayed, “Thank god for giving a starving man a dented old pot full of dust.” As he continued walking, he found on the ground a fishing hook but no fishing pole. He picked up the fishing hook, put it in his sack and again declared loudly, “Thank God for giving a starving man a fishing hook with no fishing pole.” Then God chuckled, as he realized that he could stop all the suffering and hardships in the world. But he didn't. Why? Because he knows that which you do not know. In fact, he is so all knowing that he would even let us live out our lives even though he knows we are going to burn eternally because we didn't pick the one out of many religions in the world. God is so wise and merciful.
"I've had several dogs that I never ate" what even is this show, I love it
I love this guy's deadpan sense of humor.
Possibly my favorite guest EVER.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeesss

Jimmy Henderson & the Red Eyed Skinks New album is now availible on iTunes.
Wow! Henderson is a fantastic speaker, very charismatic. He'd make a superb educator.
Jimmy might be the awesomest person you've interviewed so far, just in terms of someone who would be fun to hang out and goof around with.
This was one of the best SciShow talk shows in a while, thanks. Jimmy was great!
15:36 this frame...omg...thank you
Jimmy is hilarious! It is a rare moment I am not thinking "When is Jessi coming on with the animal..." :p I also liked hearing about project MINERVA.

Wow, Jim did a pretty good job at explaining the process by which they look for extrasolar planets. He's also quite funny!
+Alfredo Marquez And he's also a fan of skyrim! what else would you need? xD
Jimmy Henderson is a genuinely funny guy. This was great.
Jimmy is one of my favourite guests! Funny dood.

Jimmy is a hilarious dude.
THOSE SKINKS LOOK LIKE MINI TOOTHLESS
This guy seems really comfortable in front of the camera, and was able to give consistent information, he wasnt all over the place like some of the people are. Loved this video.

Jimmy Henderson is hilarious and awesome, definitely need to bring him back again in some capacity.
More Jimmy Henderson please~
Lol! xD Jimmy Henderson's humor and way of talking combined with the little black dragon with huge eyes at the end reminded me of Hiccup and Toothless so bad...
im so happy that sci show talk show is a thing.
is this guy available to follow on twitter?
+Fourteen Lines Yes, but I don't tweet much. @big_jim_theory
+Morgan Henderson Can you go ahead and get hired by SciShow and make SciShow Space videos.
+Fourteen Lines Cripes, is he available to follow in general? Seriously with this guy :)
He follows me on Twitter XD
I'm glad to see Hank knows the importance of ruining a good segue by calling it out =)
Dat chibi-dragon doe! =D
LOL! I love how Hank sits there and lets the guy talk about Doppler and redshift like he has no idea what it is. You go, Hank!
jessi is awesome love her enthusiasm
Have this guy on again. He's awesome.
OK Jessi you made my heart for pitter-patter you mentioned Dragon Riders of Pern. AWESOME
Yay! University of New South Wales shout out! Hi from Australia!
You two have a great synergy. Most of it seemed just like a unscripted conversation between two nerds and I love it. Could have listened to it for more than just 20 minutes.
17:40 Did Mr. Henderson just say you and me both sister?
+Michael Block Yes I did.

I'd love a follow up episode with updated research from project MINERVA!
i think that this guest was probably my favorite in a long time
He is so smart and cute and nerdy, I kind of just want to meet him and awkwardly hug him.
He is such a legend. Well done to you.
"Dragon Riders of Pern" .. "Very Skyrim" .. you're all total geeks :P
Wow, I don't think I've ever heard anyone online mention Dragonriders of Pern, before. Those are some damn good books.
my brother never ceases to amaze me with his extreme intelligence
18:30 - the sound is desynchronised
Shout out to Jessi for referencing Dragonriders of Pern!! (:
That is one handsome scientist.
The science we humans can do amazes me. Not just that we can understand things like this, but that it even occurred to anyone to discover planets by using shifting black lines.

15:31 Dragonriders of Pern, yissssss!
I would love it if the team could circle back with the scientists they interviewed over the years. Check in on their progress and new projects!
This is why I watch scishow I learn stuff and get entertained, this is what school should have been like. 18:40 If you all are looking for an editor that can sync audio just shoot me an email. I'll work for exposure.
A 3 year old can sync audio.
+Aski Yeah but will that 3 yr. old work for free as what he is offering lol...
+Aski a 3 year old can also recognize a joke..

Jimmy needs his own Scishow segment.
This was a very, very good SciShow TalkShow. Thanks (as usual, but still).
Best guest & funniest talk show episode!
Jimmy Henderson & The Red Eyed Skinks is an awesome band name.
“I’ve had several dogs that I never ate”
Great quote.
This channel is the best PR for the University of Montana ever! :D
Disappointed that Jimmy Henderson & The Red Eyed Skinks is not an indie rock band
Hank should meet more animals on camera. His reactions are always fantastic and funny.
"Jimmy Henderson and the Red Eyed Skinks" sounds like it should be the name of a band.
that guy is my new favorite guest to scishow
Around 6:27 Hank did the same thing I do all the time. Just randomly move my hand and make a noise. No matter what's going on, I will do it at least daily unless I'm around just myself like the whole day.

Jimmy seems like a fun guy.
Jimmy did a pretty solid job of explaining a quite complicated thing there.
Once, there was a wandering dervish of great piety and faith who was starving and lost in the desert. Awesome video. Project MINERVA sounds really interesting :-)
this was AWESOME
Jimmy was a pretty awesome guy!
I thought he was going to be uninteresting but he was SUPER funny!
A good interview!
Good job hank.
Project McGonagall?
Best talk show ever!!!
The foot-scenting thing is similar to what rabbits do, except they rub their chins on stuff, which is slightly less awkward.
Please invite him back for future episodes.
Hey hey! didnt expect my alma mater UNSW to be mentioned here!
The title of this episode would be a great name for a rock n roll band
please invite Jimmy Henderson back!
I want one !! also that's a funny guest you got there !
I can't get over how today's video sounds like a band name
Completely off-topic, Jimmy Henderson and the Red Eyed Skinks is the name of my next band.
Jimmy is hilarious.
anybody else feel like "the minerva project" kinda sounds like a wizard rock band?
I don't know if it's official, but I've sometimes heard the Sun called "Sol".
hank at 18:37 what was he trying to do
He was trying to, "FUCK 'ER IN DUH PUSSY!"
An unintentionally kinky moment at 7:52
SOme actions will be more interesting but still good to know about it...
Or the aliens would say: "Hey, check this planet out. Let's be friends with them: they've got freakin' DRAGONS."
Jesse's read Anne McCaffrey!!!
it would be pretty cool if you did a video on Graphene
