Grazie!
So beautiful. Can't get enough of it!
Me encanta todo lo que tocan. Maravilloso
I love your work! All best!
Thank you so much ! There are a number of pieces on our channel, some if them from live concerts. More are coming soon.
The Hack was converted from 5 to 4 strings because the fingerboard is quite narrow. Perfect for pizz but not for arco. The gut-a-likes are much less brilliant than gut, they have a warm sound but not much gut timbre. Also, they are a lot less loud, and very thick so the bridge and nut slots need widening, and maybe the pegg holes as well. In combination with a cello they provide a nice warm bottom sound but as "stand-alone" bass strings they lack definition. On my D-violone i have Kürschner gut
absolutely beautiful playing, you two!! i am blown away by the lovely and sweet music that your Violone and the Viola d'Amore made together....heart meltingly beautiful...thanks so much...do you have any concerts of your music uploaded here on TH-cam?
I am thinking of putting them on my recently acquired d-violone (which I am going to tune in fourths for now) to get some baroque style sound - do they really sound authentic like gut in your opinion? If they do, they are really hard to ignore considering the price! Loving the Hack Bass by the way, is that the one converted from the 5-string?
Yes :-) I wanted to see how they work with the bow. The brown ones are quite ok. Very warm but not very loud. The wound E is really good though. But all recordings were made with gut strings from Baldock.
Are those Gut-a-Like's on the Hack Bass?
