The reason is the weight of the cars, Swift body weight is 905 Kg and i20 is 1119 kg. So there is a difference of 214 kg's as well.

This company cars are costlier than other cars of same segment just because of sales numbers but on that price point the safety and build quality provided by this company is rediculous . The company too don't bother for that because people like u still supporting it. Only brezza and s cross have nice build quality.
Who knows in future this company will make next gen Swift entirely with plastic body and present it to fools like you saying that our new dezire is now terribly fast 0-100 in 8 sec now and you guys starts saying that is not the light weight plastic body of car but the engine of maruti is giving this performance as you guys don't have any idea why and how build quality matters specially in India where even highways are crowded with idiotic drivers. You guys always blame system and government when accident happens and someone dies on road or from family but not ur choice of having such car or supporting such company.

Hyundai is master in diesel engines not in petrol. Do a drag race between swift diesel or petrol with I 20 diesel and then u can see the dominance of I20 diesel. For petrol, Maruti is best.

@@moviebestpart5883 i20 waala driver fir aise hi hoga...naa chalani aati ho car to safari chhor ke ferrari bhi chalo..maruti 800 se race haar jao ge...swift vdi ko to etios liva hara deti to power main 6 bhp aur torque main 30 bhp kam hai swift se...so driving skills matter...Maruti can never beat Hyundai in diesel...I personally tried the same for many years even with interchanging the drivers ...swift do give some tough competition because of its power to weight ratio advantage but everytime its Hyundai who beat tin can everytime 😜
Swift was my favourite seen its crashing test passenger and co passenger if hit this vehicle with 60 kms/hr they are no more, so this good pickup won't prevent u too meet yamraj, just look at the kerb weight 875 to 905 kg whereas I 20 is 1055 kg i20 is lot better at high speed turns and have lot more stable ride

Having few kg more weight doesn't make you safe. See the safety ratings of i20. It's still 2 star (same as swift)
भाई swift me 4 log bhi बैठक kar i20 se drag race करे to bhi i20 ka koi chance nahi... kyoki that engine sucks, no power, bad mileage, poor handing & ड्राइविंग dynamics and its not too safe.
Good things of i20 is the feel n quality of cabin, ride quailty.
Its not that safe too, Even not reliable as swift.
SWIFt is much more fun to drive n engaging But at last its a Tin ka डिब्बा at last.
