Question:
In regards to consistency. Is having 3-4 types of videos I make on my channel to much? (Anime Like, Anime You Haven't Watched, Details You missed, Guess That anime character). Everything revolves around anime and there is even overlap in the anime (such as anime like shield hero, details you missed shield hero). Do you think this is to many different types of videos or should I just plan, analyze, and adjust?
Recently i tried to diversify a bit and yeh that didn't work so I'm trying to decide on a specific plan.
Okay, I have a question:
I am making entertaining gaming videos, so is it wise to use Reddit's subchannels of that specific game I am playing to spread my TH-cam video in front of eye balls?
I was late on the LIVE today so I'm watching the replay. Sir, would you mind sharing what you are using for the amazing lighting you are using? I just painted my room all white as phase 1 of making lighter, brighter videos. A better camera will be the final step, in the midterm I'm looking to invest in lighting options.

I have been guilty to some of those things in the past! lol. What kills me on TH-cam, is when my main keyword is "music video" for a video game title but in search results for music video, "IGN review" is more relevant than "music video"????? What? how?

I actually have a question, I hope you can answer it, even though this video is a bit older. I make Yoga and Meditation Content. I only place ads at the beginning and at the end of the video, never in the middle because it wouldn't work for the viewer. Does TH-cam prefer Videos with more Ads? Because then TH-cam makes more money off my videos?
I think I'm overlooking something and my channel has been dead in the water. If TH-cam will surface videos people want to watch, would someone with fresh eyes help me understand why no one would want to watch my videos? Great video, by the way. Watched the whole thing over 2 days!
Great tips for beginners! Would be great to see something more advanced assuming that people DO watch youtube, have found a niche, maybe just got monetized?! Perhaps how to interpret data into actual actions?!

20-30 minutes a day...only over my cold, dead computer screen. 2-3 HOURS. That's how much I watch a day.

Yes I have noticed recent videos are better- they are more helpful more focused! And that will get folks to hire you as we see he knows his stuff! Would love to work with you, but low income, my channel is now getting momentum. I went for tubebuddy a/b testing and am working on thumbnail consistency and seeing what my audience likes to click. I"m about to hit 9k and 10k by August!

Hi Darral, super pumped on all the info you are giving. I have a key question. You mentioned using the SafeSearch tool to check the thumbnails. I get quite many of my thumbnails are labelled "Racy: Possible", or "Spoof: Possible". I rarely get "Likely" or "Very likely" but very often it's graded as "Possible" even though it obviously isn't to a human. It could be a camera lens but the algo thinks it could be racy because of the shape or something. What cut-off do you use to disregard a thumbnail because of the SafeSearch grading? Do they all need to be "Unlikely" or "Very unlikely" or is "Possible" also fine? Thanks

I am at almost a year being a TH-cam. I only have 206 subscribers. I am grateful for the 206.
I think being consistent is my problem. How often would be good to post? Is once a week good? Or more often?

That's funny because I recently had quite a few viewers come to my channel and suggest that I make content like other big TH-cam channels. "You make great content man! But be like this other famous guy I watch on TH-cam." -_- I'm like really? lol
Number 6 blowed my mind! 🤭. Number 9 is me on this channel. For my defense, I went full-in with the 30-day-challenge with my 2nd channel, and with this one, I don't seem to find material easily to make videos on. But I do acknowledge that this is me with 9 here. lol

What is your advice about MILITARY CONTENT, like military training exercises, military comparison etc.....need your help, it is unclear to me either youtube allows monetization on these types of channels or not, because it includes gunfire etc....hoping for your reply from Bangladesh?

Thank you for the awesome video. I will also try to participate in the challenge because I think it's a very good idea to have a partner, someone who sees your progress and can advise what to improve and say what has improved. I know there a lot of points where my videos have to be improved, but I cannot focus on everything at the same time. So I think this challenge can make my progress more consistent because if I manage to improve on certain points I will keep them instead of going constantly back and forth.
One of my videos took off in February. It started getting 100,000 views a month up from about 5,000 views a month. I didn’t change anything about the video. I don’t know why it started to takeoff?

Advice for high energy when you focus on relaxation & stress reduction :/ ?
Michele Paiva I would say to think about what you are looking for as a viewer, when you watch video’s. Your subject matter may not mean ‘be high energy’ but it may mean ‘be a bit higher energy’.. as you want to engage people and you want to talk in a way that keeps them interested (and awake!) and watch through to the end. My personal thinking is that whatever the subject matter (unless it is literally a meditation video or perhaps yoga), I want someone to have a certain level of confidence, authority, and the right level of energy. So find a style that works for you 😊
@derraleves, @3:30 my most viewed video was shot on my cellphone, and uploaded in 2014. no editing. just a candid recipe video. Then, i used that success to purchase a new macbook, canon 80d, lights, mics, etc.etc. but I still havent been able to replicate the success of that video. zoinks Patience pays off. I watch hours and hours of youtube. Babbish inspired my studio set up, and the way I film. I like sam the cooking guys content, and editing. I wished that my kids would have been able to help me film, and edit my content. I have been guilty of low energy, and scrapped a few videos because while the content was good, the energy was bad bad bad. the challenge has helped me in many ways. the plan, execute, analyze, adjust slide is amazing. helps me put it in perspective.I changed my thumbnails. I thought I was upgrading, but the analytics told me otherwise. My views dropped like an anvil on the coyote's head. I have a cooking show recipe video channel. I took all of the text and my face off of the thumbnails, and my views are starting to come back.

1.4 mil views per month and roughly 5 video views per viewer *but* only 18% of people are subscribed. I ONLY focus on the viewer experience but I need to start calling out and asking for the sub.

This is exactly what has happened to my first video.
For some reason the traffic got to about 90% Philippines viewership; although the target is really UK/USA.
I don't know how that happened. The viewership has gone down to about 60% and UK/US are slowly inching up but I have no idea why the target audience went that way and if it is hurting channel growth.
Derral, I have watched your videos now and then in the past and I think you have made a change in the way you make your videos. I now sense a lot of sincerity and more focus on the viewer than in the past. This was a great video, I watched until the end.
I have made a commitment to my self to triple the income I make from my channel and plan to do that by doing a better job of identifying my key viewers, narrowing the focus of my channel which is currently severely unfocused and spending most of my effort in increasing the value of my videos to them. I will be watching a lot more of your videos and taking a lot more action than in the past.
I want to comment on a question you answered from someone about the pros and cons of long videos. I read a great book on advertising years ago by David Ogilvy. He wrote that long advertising copy was more successful than short. He reasoned a person vaguely interested in a subject will not read long copy. However, a person who has a keen interest in the subject will read every word you can provide them. I don't like to watch long videos but TH-cam allows us to speed videos up so that helps a lot.

I think you should also include watching TH-cam too much in the wrong way. I say this because I have consumed 4-8 hours of TH-cam a day since 2008 and uh it didn't make me the greatest creator myself.
Hey! Thanks so much! Your videos have helped me to reach 1000 subs but I can't monetize because the system shows two AdSense accounts and, of course, it won't let me close them so it's stuck in a loop. Can you point me in the right direction because the provided help from TH-cam really isn't designed to get you in contact with anyone who can actually DO something. Part of me says forget it, it's not much anyway. The other part of me says I've worked my but off for this! LOL! Either way, I appreciate all that you do!

I’m blessed with over 700 FB friends and debated using those relationships to show the algorithm that people are watching. Thanks for setting me straight.
