Found this review after watching a tire review that you did (General G-max), which is fantastic. Chiming in because I just unboxed my RF1400 a few weeks ago and was equally as stoked as you, so I thought I'd share. I didn't have the fit ordeal you did, but I did have that immediate feeling of satisfaction one gets when they spend the money and goes Shoei; Oh-so unbelievably nice. I went with the Accolade TC-10 color way (riding a black/black 2023 MT-10) to add pop to my mostly drab riding kit. Anyway, thank you again for a great review. Hope your neck issue is progressing. I've had several joint surgeries, so I can relate. Cheers.
It truly is a fantastic helmet. I did get to wear it on three rides before my neck tweeked 😦noticeably smoother in wind, quieter, visibility is better, and IMO better looking than the 1200 😎 The MT-10 in black/black is a beast of a bike! Merry Christmas and happy safe riding my friend 🏍
I can second this! I also have a 23" head. I bought the medium because of everyone always mentioning "they will break in" which I agree with. But the medium squeezed my head too tight to where it hurt in the back, and was far too difficult to take off/put on. The large is perfect!
Nothing more awesome then a new helmet. Nothing more frustrating than having a funny shaped head and having trouble finding helmets. That was always the case for me I couldn't buy anything without trying them on.
I had an HTC helmet first... it... fit, but pressure points on front and back of my head. Then I learned that HTC is best for round heads. Round heads? I didnt even know they had helmets for diff head shapes!! I read the Shoei was designed for more oval shaped heads. I tried one out at a motorcycle shop in Mass and I learned that I have an oval shaped head! lol They fit gloriously! Shoei is my go to.
@Michael Byrne that is exactly my issue I need a different. Shape. Revzilla and there was one other place that would sort by headshape. I really like the crazy Icon airframe designs but none of their helmets seem to fit me
I was a 58 cm that’s the line between medium and large. For me the large allowed too movement the medium is snug as it should be and yes it’s a pain putting it on and off but it’s worth it. I’m sure it will break in, I am glad I could go to RevZilla for a proper fit.
For me the medium created pain after a few minutes (which is why I was wearing it at my desk) around my entire head. It was too tight. For me the large is snug like it should be but no pain. It’s harder to put on and off than my 1200. The 1400 def runs a little more snug.
I rode my new bike and new helmet home last week. 31/2 hours. 23" also, but wow, the Large seems SNUG! No pain after 3 hours... Guess that passes!? No pain... other than my ears! Taking this thing off & on several times/day leaves my ears hurting! That neck seal catches my ears taking it off no matter how much I spread the straps. So much so, I might be looking for another option; ugh!
That sounds very uncomfortable. Obviously we all have diff head shapes and you have to find what works for you. I used to wear an HJC helmet and it was all wrong. The Shoei fits me like it was made for my skull. Hope you can get something that fits MUCH better! Oh and congrats on the new bike! What did ya get??
BMW S1000XR MSport. Beautiful machine! I tried on everything at the local MC dealer. HJC & a couple others, nothing fits my head as well as a Shoei. Ordered an XL and we'll see! @@sstressfl

The large was indeed perfect :) yes that medium literally hurt after a few minutes. Ride on!! 💪😎🙏

Like finding a sports car you like but your head hits the roof :/

You could try thicker pads! That’s what I had to do with my rf1200.
I have the XL which I normally wear and it is too small. Ordered a 2XL and it gets here tomorrow head is 24 3/8 inches.
They def run a bit smaller than the previous generation but the fit is actually better, IMO. Curious how the 2xl fits you! I imagine it'll be perfect.
So was it a medium or a large?

I have a 21 1/2". What would you get?
Good vid. Thank u
Thank you for the feedback my friend 🙏
No stickers!!! 🤭
I was shocked that I did not receive a sticker from revzilla NOR Shoei!! :( It will be reflected in the review 😆
Had to buy it for safeties sake? Did she believe you? Lol.
5 years! Gotta stay on the safe side! :)
