Common enemy brings people together. Wars since dawn of time has proven this. Velma is just a war on taste and everything, so it's universally unifying.
So I think I have realized why Velma season 2 was "Confirmed" before it really released. Velma clearly aims to be a serialized show essentially one big story across several episodes. Essentially Mindy Kaling wrote the story in a way that it won't be resolved in the first season to force a second season to be approved. If the show gets cancelled while its story remains incomplete because of its heavy marketing before release and claims by Warner to be the next big show its cancelation would be an even bigger embarrassment to the brand. This is why so many new shows aim for Serialized stories in earlier seasons as a way to pressure producers in feeding a little more money for a continuation. Episodic shoes are more rare because they can be cancelled pretty much at any point with no real effect. We see this a lot in anime where so many end their seasons on big cliff hangers to attempt to force additional seasons where at least in my opinion many of the shows I would consider a masterpiece had a set amount of episodes told their story and gave the audience closure to the story in hopes that would attract their audience to their future works rather than milking the same show until it dies.
The editor meta'd to get out of it too! Incredible. SIde note, it somehow brings me joy tha Nux cannot accept that the writers don't care about character continuity or staying in character at all. It's just a writing room bitching at the uncaring universe, not what's being drawn.
This is like asking an AI if it can ask another AI to write the script by looking at a picture of Mystery Inc and watching half an episode of Big Mouth.
I love watching the world hate this show. It feels like the show is personal, like the person behind it got hurt somehow, and is trying to say f*** you to everyone.
if anyone is watching me right now in my room, if you attack me i will not resist, i'll even tell you where my snacks are, just put me out of my misery. Nux you are the only thing making this a little enjoyable
The amount of cringe I am expiriencing while watching this show would probably kill me if I didn't see it by proxy, who also expiriences simmilar levels of pain. Sharing suffering keeps as alive
I don't think I've ever seen a show miss it's comedic timing this completely. Some of the jokes could work and I've seen them work but this show misses every single one. It also has the problem of modern shows being afraid of giving it time to breathe and needing to constantly bombard you with "jokes" every 5 seconds. Breaking the 4th wall every second line and having meta comentary. It can work but for the love of god space it out and reserve it for 1 or 2 characters at most. Almost every person does it all the time.
This makes me realize they keep saying "on TV" and "in movies" and... we never see any of them watch anything. Just like the writers don't seem like they've watched any media in 20 years.
This reminds me of that time a youtuber named uniquenameosaurus reviewed the first three episodes of that stupid High Guardian Spice anime and said he would do the rest of the series if this charity he sponsored reached it's donation goal. It did, and the first thing he said was, "How dare you." but then genuinely thanked people for reaching the charity's goal.
Maybe the blackmail thing is a call back to that problem Mindy Kaling had on her own show Mindy a while back when she kissed one of the actors unscripted, and basically told him to not tell anyone. Then she went on Conan and told everyone.
This should be a series “How can the audience make Nux suffer: Velma edition” I would give you all the likes to make this continue, only because your reactions are more entertaining then the show itself.
You know the more I watch Velma the more I realize the characters s aren’t written bad, their just based off Twitter users. The line, “he’s a white guy with a tiny dong, obviously he did it” confirmed it for me.
This show makes references to real life like Rick&Morty makes references to over-rated popular fiction, and explains the plot like Dora the Explorer reading a map
It was probably only green lit for a second season because they are already making it (or made it)! Animation can take so long to make that the contract with the animators was probably for two seasons. so it would be ready in time, The renewal of contract would be for a third season and beyond
This show is so cringe that I can't even believe that anyone wrote this. This matches my writing level when I was in 3rd grade, and let me tell you, I can say that I was cringe. This is so horrific that I lost a few years off my lifespan. This is as cringe as She Hulk, maybe worse. This isn't even Scooby Doo, this is literally all the things everyone hates about every show put together into one made by the worst people. Racism, modern feminism, judging men by their physical attributes, promoting all the wrong ideologies, delibertely throwing 'woke ideaologies' in your face ever two seconds, and.... Yeah, you could go on forever. You must be as masochistic as GrayStillPlays to put yourself through this. It took me multiple tries to get through this.
So after watching Nux react to Velma, I was like "This isn't THAT tragic, I'll give episode 3 a watch!" But AFTER watching it WITHOUT Nux's commentary, I realised I was DEAD wrong about how painful it was X3 Like, if this had NO relation to scooby doo, it would be a bad series, but JUST a bad series; it's the fact they defiled EVERYTHING that makes scooby doo scooby doo, that turns it from a bad show, to a TRULY unforgivable one T___T EDIT: Now if you excuse me, imma gonna cleanse my palette by watching the live action scooby doo film and reminiscing about the time I met Matthew Lynard and he gave me a "Zoinks!" (A bucket list item I didn't even realise I had until it happened lol)
"Adults who still watch cartoons" So what I'm hearing is... the writers of this show hate cartoons, and for some reason, their animators are supporting them by drawing this
How does this show even manage to exist? It's just...godawful on every single level. There are just no redeeming features at all. That takes effort and dedication, man.

Legit how the hell does this get a season 2 but so many good shows cant?!
Views. Doesn't matter the reason
There were warnings against hate watching this show, people didn't listen.
if anyone is watching me right now in my room, if you attack me i will not resist, i'll even tell you where my snacks are, just put me out of my misery. Nux you are the only thing making this a little enjoyable
Seeing nux so perplexed by this show is a feeling of amazement and regret lol
I knew it was going to be horrible and yet I am still shocked at how bad it actually is.
He be like "how dare you - but also thank you"
The worst part is they have OG Fred voicing his dad in this train wreck.
This is the most joy I've gotten out of Velma since it premiered.
what therapy did you take to have a single glimpse of joy from this insane racist people talking?
Maybe the blackmail thing is a call back to that problem Mindy Kaling had on her own show Mindy a while back when she kissed one of the actors unscripted, and basically told him to not tell anyone. Then she went on Conan and told everyone.
I enjoy watching Nux react to this, but not enough to make him watch nother.
That actually makes it significantly better because I can make a drinking game out of that
Nux: "This is painful"
yea and what makes it worse is the fact that Fred's dad's VA is the ORIGINAL VA for Fred(literally 1969 til 2021 so far).
Fred is always the best character. Lmao
This show makes references to real life like Rick&Morty makes references to over-rated popular fiction, and explains the plot like Dora the Explorer reading a map
Came for the Nux, stayed for the Nux, came again to the Nux.
Insert Lenny face here.
You’re gonna fuck around and end up hate watching the whole series at this rate.
nux: don’t like this I beg you
editor: do NOT like this video
me, turning their suffering into a drinking game: 👉🏼👈🏼
LET THE PAIN CONTENUE! We the fans need to show him how much we like seeing him suffer.
Who is worse, the people who made that hell or are we horrible for making him watch this?
They are. We are only here to encourage Nux on the path that he has chosen
It was probably only green lit for a second season because they are already making it (or made it)!
Animation can take so long to make that the contract with the animators was probably for two seasons. so it would be ready in time,
The renewal of contract would be for a third season and beyond
Nux, you deserve a hug.
So after watching Nux react to Velma, I was like "This isn't THAT tragic, I'll give episode 3 a watch!" But AFTER watching it WITHOUT Nux's commentary, I realised I was DEAD wrong about how painful it was X3
Like, if this had NO relation to scooby doo, it would be a bad series, but JUST a bad series; it's the fact they defiled EVERYTHING that makes scooby doo scooby doo, that turns it from a bad show, to a TRULY unforgivable one T___T
EDIT: Now if you excuse me, imma gonna cleanse my palette by watching the live action scooby doo film and reminiscing about the time I met Matthew Lynard and he gave me a "Zoinks!" (A bucket list item I didn't even realise I had until it happened lol)
Shaggy traded all his power for the n-word pass
You're a brave man, Nux. I could barely get through the pilot yet here you are, torturing yourself with episode 2
"Adults who still watch cartoons"
So what I'm hearing is... the writers of this show hate cartoons, and for some reason, their animators are supporting them by drawing this
I refuse to believe it could somehow get worse. D:
Velma writers-HOLD MY BEER
Famous last words.
Guess what
Episode 3 is even worse
Would you like to know more?
@@drthmik Oh god. How many episodes of this are there??? I'm scared to watch.
17:52 The sheer visceral emotions and pain that coursed through me rivaled that of the intensity of nuclear detonation
Can’t wait for nux’s reaction to the rest of the show.
This is the only way I am going to watch it.
Shaggy using negative percentage of his power.
It brings me great satisfaction that Nux felt the need to pick apart this dumpster fire
You can totally hear the original Fred Voice in Fred’s dad.
watching through your pain is the only way i can get through this show.
thank you for your sacrifice.
Nux talking about his "bad promise" and then saying we're evil
Me: yeah, we want you to suffer with us, Nux!
i rather suffer watching this with nux then watching on my own and supporting it with my view.
How does this show even manage to exist? It's just...godawful on every single level. There are just no redeeming features at all. That takes effort and dedication, man.
You know they mean it when Nox's editor is telling them no more.
At least with high guardian spice, you could laugh at how bad it is. But with this, you can't because of how it ruins your childhood memories.
Fred has become such a punching bag it’s lovable.
I like the symbolism of the victims having their brains removed representing whoever greenlit this dumpsterfire
I felt like I had was having a nightmare on a bed of needles the entire episode 😭🤬
I like how the model stops working because nux couldn't help but face-palm.
Your editor should get hazardous pay for his work on these Velma videos. this may fit the legal requirement for it
Nux: It can’t get worse
Velma: oh ho! You approach me?
suicide prevention hotline: so why do you want to kill yourself today
nux: I watched velma
suicide prevention hotline: understandable
nux: any help
suicide prevention hotline:stop watching it, it doesn't get better
nux: sadly I got 15k likes...
suicide prevention hotline: so is this call about intent to follow through?
29:26 XD your avatar needs hands for that clap you did there, cause all my brain could manage was “DAYUM, Nux clapped his cheeks loud enough to shatter ear drums”
Finally nux can be a total youtube and nobody can stop him
Every time they bring up a TV reference i cry a bit inside
It’s really fun to watch Nux suffer the misery of watching this show so we don’t have to.
since velma is the writer self insert that mean the writer probably like velma in IRL.
After watching a few people react to this show (because I don't want to watch this crap alone lmao), I also had a hunch that the serial killer would end up being Velma's mom! It's the only logical explanation thus fair considering how much importance and emphasis has been put on both her and the murderer. But that also might mean that that won't happen because this show is insane and doesn't make much sense considering the events of episode 4...
My soul wasn't ready for this
RIP nux you will be dearly missed
I wonder if Wanda Sykes knew what this show was or they only had her read her lines and nothing else...because she's so nonBS that I can't see her knowingly being apart of something this terrible x.x
