I know they changed a lot about this number, but you have to remember that it was transformed to fit with the story line of "Wishes". All of the musical numbers in this show were tweaked so that these three teenagers could be involved, the show is about them after all. Just remember this is "Wishes" and not a performance of "Tangled."
I'll be honest, the omission of Flynn's line... I saw it coming a mile away when I saw him actually enjoying himself during the number. That right there made no sense considering this was long before he learned his lesson and lightened up.
You’ve got a point, kinda ruins the gag of him being forced to due to being suddenly surrounded by swords. Also ruins his nervous delivery of his first couple lines

It is a REALLY good show! Search it here on YT to watch the full show....You will understand......but really....I agree....why would they take it out?
First of all they did this the opposite way of how the movie does it. It was supposed to be Flynn Rider singing his solo first and it was Rapunzel's solo after his. Second is that at the part where Flynn Rider was supposed to sing they put 2 random boys and a random girl to fill in for his solo. That was so unfair to the actor who was patraying Flynn Rider dont you think? I hope that was not the plan when it goes on broadway next month is it?
Yes, I realize I'm very late. This video just popped up in my recommend. This show isn't tangled. It's a show called Disney's Wishes. It was performed on the Disney Fantasy ship. Those 'three random people' are the main characters in the show. I'm pretty sure there is a version of the show on TH-cam if you wanted to watch it to see what it is about. It is an amazing show! I got the chance to see it in person on the Fantasy and I loved it! It was by far my favorite show on the ship!

They don't have to pander to the little kids to make this "geared towards the whole family." Little kids don't need characters that break the fourth wall; they need well-developed ideas. I'm not saying every show has to be super-serious, but a little less dependence on fourth wall jokes, pop culture references, and words that make little kids giggle would be appreciated.

Rapunzel projects too much. And this scene doesn't work as well without the scary music. And these guys don't sing this song as well as the original recording cast, which is weird since the original cast didn't have a lot of singers in their midst.
