Just found you. Appreciate your organized presentation, and your English is very good. I am hoping to return to Japan in 2025 ... looking forward to learning from you.
There are more changes about Mt. Fuji. If you want to start your climb on any trail after 4 pm, you need to book a lodge. And you need to register online before you go.
Some great info here, I am currently in Japan and yes it is hot both day and night! I managed to get a normal Pasmo IC card at Haneda airport. We were attempting to go to a fireworks festival but the closer we got the busier and slower it got. Given again the heat and the fact we were in amongst (by this time) thousands of people we decided to to turn around and give it a miss - it probably would have taken many hours to get a train back from here after the display!
I will be landing in 7 days! Osaka has the Icoca IC card if you land there and I'm told they have a tourist only Fujin/Raijin card now and it looks amazing! You can get Suica on IPhone and Japanese versions of Android. Sad to hear about the limitations put on Mnt. Fuji but I took Yoshida trail last year and I can see why it had to be done. Its always funny to hear about "high temps" then its the average temp where I live! Humidity is a bunch higher thou so that adds to the yuk. See you all soon!!
Thank you Sir! I was worried,l had bought 900,000 Yen in OLD Banknotes for my week in Tokyo in March and was quite worried about not having new notes but you have reassured me that there is no time limit on these old notes,PHEW!!! I will subscribe to you and like in thanks.
That is supposed to be that way, its just that the Sale for the pasmo passport stopped (it's a visitor ic card thats only usable for 28 days after purchase)
@@darkilussion2 I bought a regular Pasmo card. It's a silver card with pink writing and a notch on the right edge. Pretty sure that's not the passport. I was told by the shop that funds added to it would not expire, which I think is distinctly different than the passport. But who knows, maybe I got lucky.
I have been to Japan 10+ times in the last 10 years. With these changes, including the price of the JR Pass, I don't think I can go to Japan as often as I did. Sad.
I believe that you can only purchase at the Haneda Airport. I went to Tokyo in April 2024 and I could only purchase the Welcome Suica at Haneda Airport..
tokusatsu is becoming more popular nowadays because of whats happening in marvel, ultraman is not the only one who is popular now even super sentai and kamen rider too
Thank you ! I have a question My friend came to Japan in 2019 and managed to get a green suica card (the old one), can i still use it in Japan in 2024 ?

Looking forward to visiting for the first time in October, when it’s not so hot 😅
Me too cannot wait! Have fun
I was there last week, and I was able to get an ICOCA in Nara (mostly wanted it as a souvenir, since my Welcome Suica was fine).
You got ICOCA!? You are very lucky!
@@ONOinJapan Yes, at the Nara train station!
There are more changes about Mt. Fuji. If you want to start your climb on any trail after 4 pm, you need to book a lodge. And you need to register online before you go.
Thank you for the additional explanation😊
This is great info! Thank you!
You can get the welcome SUICA from Narita as well, no need to go to Haneda. I bought one 3 weeks ago in Narita no sweat.

The trains are seriously terrible after a fireworks display😂

I don't think May is hot enough yet😌

I used my (old) Pasmo in June, no problem
Used Pasmo card in mid-July. Worked fine everywhere and recharging worked fine as well

Definitely😎

Hi I have a passmo card from a previous visit, can it still be used / topped up? Thanks
Pasmo and Suica are valid for 10 years, as, so you can use them as long as you purchase them within that time!!
Thanks for your great Info :)
Is it also possible to get a Welcome Suica at Narita Airport?
Greetings from Germany :)
Only at Haneda Airport😭😭
@@ONOinJapan Is there any other option to get an IC Card at Narita?
Lufthansa as well as Finnair/JapanAirlines fly to Haneda, so maybe just look for another alternative flight.
Luckily JR East already brought it back to Narita 😅
May I ask if the Welcome Suica card be used in throughout Japan like in Hokkaido and Osaka?
Thank you for your comment!!
Welcome Suica can be used on almost all routes throughout Japan!
@@ONOinJapan thank you for your reply. Appreciate!
Can you purchase a Wellcome Suica card at a big train station, please? Or it's really Only at the Haneda, Terminal 3? Thanks 🙏👍

@@EL-gr6rg last time, middle of March, they told me the Same but Apparently I can get it at the Schinagava station( Keihin kohoku line:)

Is the old bank notes will still ok to be use for next year 2025?. Becuase i will visit japan next year.
Money printed in any decade can be used after 2025!
Hi Ono! I bought a Pasmo last time and I will travel again soon, can I still use it? I hope it's not forbidden now..
If it is not a PASMO for short-term stay, it should still be usable since it is valid for 10 years!
Any recommendations where or which hotel to stay in Osaka?
I recommend Hoshino Resort, which operates throughout Japan!!
Thank you ! I have a question My friend came to Japan in 2019 and managed to get a green suica card (the old one), can i still use it in Japan in 2024 ?
The green Suica is valid for 10 years, so you can still use it! And the expiration date of Suica is renewed each time it is charged or used!
Yes, I am currently in Japan using my 2018 old card 😊
yokohama sparkling is on 10th of august. i could not find any information abouth 5th :(
I posted the wrong information😅
But the fireworks festival will be held on August 5 as well!
I have a regular PASMO card that I use when I go to japan, will it still work?
You can use it as long as it was purchased within the last 10 years😀
@ONOinJapan haha, my buddy from Hong Kong gave it to me but it's definitely not 10 years old. Thank you for your reply
I thought I can downloadnsuica and use as an app in my iphone
Do the new bank notes work on vending machines?
Most vending machines are compatible with the new bills!!
is it for sure that the old bank notes are still gonna be usuable in 2025 ?
Of course! Not only old bills, but also old old bills and old old old bills can be used!

I have an old Suica from more than 6 years ago (not a welcome one). Can I still recharge this card or is this just now a memorial object for me? 😀
Did people actually have issues reading the numbers on the banknotes? They are literally written in Arabic numerals...
I guess for older people it would be hard to read as it's quite small
