The Roaring Twenties were simply wonderful if you had money. You could dress up in the latest flapper fashions, travel by motor car, and visit friends at country manors to play charades. If you were working class, life was tough. Finding somewhere to live, being able to pay the rent, and feed and clothe your family were by no means small tasks. Your children would leave school poorly educated as soon as they became teenagers, with a dreary future ahead of them.

I love how on the flock of sheep picture people on the pavement are turning around, as even in those days that couldn't have been a common sight in London.

A lot of brand names still going in 2023 and a fair few people born in the 1920's are still rocking around, well maybe not rocking but never the less alive. Better 20's than the current ones, well if you had any quarter decent job you could afford a roof over your head unlike today both husband and wife have to work and even that's not enough.

4:59 indeed this Gentlemanns Attire but especially hist Top hat and shoes are of such prestine grace thath if i had the option two i wouldnt reconsider a seond but wher them on an everday basis indeed it doesnt get more sophisticatet and gracefull as thath thze gentlemann at 7:11 is even wearing an attire thath while it still is of utmost elegance could still be worn today

All of those happy smiling faces just did not know what was right around the corner for them......a worldwide depression. This terrible economic disaster lasted from 1929 to the late 1930's.

Germany invaded Europe and the U.S. got involved to pull us out of the Great Depression. It worked.

Those guests arriving at a “freak party” would be astounded at the genuine Freaks we see today! 😂. By comparison the 1920’s group are positively staid!

First time in hundreds of years: no more corsets. You could actually take a BIG breath. First time good girls could wear cosmetics in public.

Yes the difference in clothing between 1913 and 1923 was astounding.
