Maybe its the copyrighted intro music during the first fight sequence with boros. Maybe if u mute that... might help. Also, here a question for u: What would have happened to saitama if boros would have missed the moon? I dont know if the momentum of swinging his fist forward is enough power to stop his extreme speed that he gained when getting kicked by boros, in space, and then reverse it fast enough into motion in direction of earth, while having no air to breath.... I think that the moon saved saitama here, and without it, Boros would have won, because saitama underestimated him and was holding back his true power too long.

Also, i think, Amai Masks point, that it is a poor duty and not justice if the strongest heroes, that were all in this city could not protect the citizens and the city, is valid. But thats first and foremost the fault of those aliens, that approached very fast and attacked immediately, and tornado, that wasnt ready to stop the first salvo even though she could have sensed the aliens approaching theoretically with her psychic abilities.

Cool fact: Boros is actually the final villain of ONE'S first manga, Taiyo Man (Sun Man), but he was actually too powerful for the protagonist to defeat, so the manga was never finished and completely scratched off, that is until ONE decided to use him 20 years later for Saitama to defeat.
So Taiyo Man is in the same verse of One Punch Man?

Boros didn't really give him any scratches. He was just getting him dirty and messing up his outfit. lol
when Saitama wins, we are once again not surprised by this. But when the guy survived Saitama’s normal attacks (which killed everyone from the first punch) and after a serious punch, the dialogue tells us about the unimaginable power of Boros. Saitama had to become serious for a moment in order to defeat Boros. Respect

In case you missed it, the first episode during saitamas dream when he’s finally enjoying the fight you could see a frame where his heart beats, there’s a similar scene during boros final attack where his heart beats the same way. Damn I love this show

The crazy thing about this fight is that Saitama was taking it easy on Boros so that it would be "more of a fight." He wanted to give Boros the feeling of excitement that he's been trying to fight for himself. He know what Boros felt like, having no one to challenge him, so he held back and gave Boros a chance to go all out and push his limits.
It also just shows the insane power gap between Saitama and literally everyone else in the cast.

What isn't shown in the anime is that Metal Knight took the alien technology and built a monster robot that looked a bit like an AT-AT from star wars, combined with many other robots he built the new Hero Association. The work was planned to take 5 years, but Metal Knight did it in 10 days.

season 2 and on is really at its core about all those characters...

This show was literally perfect, the staff who worked on season 1 were insane. Too bad season 2 has almost completely different staff 😭

While animation quality was noticeable. It wasn't bothering me much, never been too concerned about looks, but the way the story started taking itself way too seriously and really toned down the mockery of the genre, made it into yet another superhero setting #320203920 with a slight tweak of having Saitama show up from time to time and a mentally retarded 5 year old in a grown up body, being an idiotic antagonist, that for some reason got loads of praise for being different, from a bunch of to put it politely, not so bright people, who for me boiled down to "Hitler(insert your horrible monster here) had dreams too, why couldn't he win and fulfill his dreams."

Even though I have watched this MANY MANY times already, it is extremely enjoyable to watch with you. Going through all the various emotions that we all as fans experienced is a testament as to the quality and undeniable greatness of the series. I hope you continue to enjoy the remaining series. Even though the art is not the same quality as this, the story is amazing. It's worth continuing the series.
Its even funnier that the destruction in this episode is but a TASTE of what is going on in the manga.

This episode really make Boros like a main character, with all of the music theme. The fact that I really cheering him up to win XD
In the guides its said that Boros actually damaged Saitama, not by a lot but a little bit of damage. His power varies from translation to translation, from beeing able to destroy stars to just wiping out the life of the earth surface. And I think if Saitama didnt land on the moon, he would have died due suffocation but that was an amazing fight. Saitama showed a lot of empathy with Boros and made the fight seem to be entertaining and challenging for both sides. At least Boros got the fight that he wanted before he died.
the last words of Boros make me cry.. is amazing the interpretation on this moment! love it!

It was fun to see your reactions of one punch man, if you start watching the second season, do not expect the same level of animation as this, unfortunately there was a change of animation studio and the animation quality was quite low, not to mention that the criticism for this same point they weren't very good, yet the story is very good and most people agree that the development of the new antagonist from season two is good.
Really like the story of Season 2, but the tournament arc with the Suiryu introduction feels... boring and undepth for the anime.

Oh man, such a good show. It’s really sucky that they couldn’t keep up the same level of quality in season 2 but it’s still a good watch. I think season 1 was just a perfect storm that had the best of the best working on it. We were spoiled lol
Yeah, when season one was animated the lead guy called in A FUCK TON of favors to vet the animation where it was, on an especially average budget. But had probably one of the single best animated fights in anime debateably

There's a little bit near the end of Saitama and Boros' fight where you see a negative colored heartbeat. If I'm not mistaken, that's Boros' heartbeat, symbolizing that it's the first time in forever that he's felt any challenge. It parallel's Saitama's dream in episode one where he fought the Dream Subterranean King as it showed the a similar, but correctly colored heartbeat symbolizing Saitama feeling a challenge for the first time since he got too strong.

In a way, in his fight with saitama, boros had a lot of similarity with the average shonen protagonist: fight against a enemy that seems he can't be defeat (in this case, it's true), during the fight he power up and even when it may cost his life, he keep powering up, and even he shout "I will defeat you" while giving his all in a kind of desperate attack. All this makes me kind of root for him for, like, 5 minutes...
Boros really is like Saitama, he was the strongest creature in the universe and was looking for a match so he could feel alive once again and then when me met Saitama you could see how excited he was to find such a strong opponent, in the fight itself you can see so many times it not only alludes to a bunch of elements of episode one where Saitama was having that dream of fighting against the Subterraneans (such as the OST and same angles and animations of what Saitama was going through in the dream) but the shounen troupe in general of the underdog MC fighting against a much stronger enemy... And Saitama actually allowed Boros to have his freedom in this fight, tried to hide the fact that he was much stronger so Boros would've not felt like he was being played with, in the end Boros ended up realizing the farce anyways, but you can see that Saitama almost jealous of Boros of finally finding his match... Amazing episode.

At least you don't have to wait for years for s2 to come out. And although I was quite disappointed in second season, for toning down the mockery of the genre and taking itself somewhat seriously. Binging s1 I was laughing so hard, I felt light headed from the lack of oxygen, during s2 I got a few chuckles. But I'll probably still watch your reaction of it.

This fight exactly is important to me, as people here misunderstand the concept of saitamas ONE punch. He couldve easily defeated boros with the serious punch, but since he always wanted to feel the feeling of a real fight again, he wanted to see how strong boros was, and therefore use weak attacks.
fact in this episode, saitama is not serious at all.
and serious punch just a "name" for his punch, because saitama interested of manga he read that every single hero in manga has a name for they skills so saitama try to create his own skills name.

This episode is actually so sad though. Saitama felt so empathetic for Boros that he dragged on the fight as much as possible. Even Boros realised Saitama could have ended it instantly, but he wanted Boros to have fun, because he knows what it's like to live with an unquenchable boredom.
