Saw Justin Marks once driving in a Trans Am race at Road Atlanta a couple years ago. He was in a fairly street looking #99 Coca Cola C6 Corvette, running a class or two down from the top.
I agree! Keep Road America a yearly event. The fans show up, why would you drop a race that fills the stands? That would be dumb if nascar did that. That being said I’ll be at the race Sunday!
For thirty years I have wanted NASCAR at Road America. I would like for it to stay and would be very, very pissed it was dropped. It does not have to stay for the fourth of July weekend but it must stay on the calendar.
I would really like to see Road America stay like it just fits 4th of July weekend perfectly and its the closest track to me that I haven't been to yet
Are you kidding me? Lol 4th of July is about the beach, lakes, fireworks summer heat, sun. 0 of that is in Wisconsin lol. Daytona, under the lights super exciting racing, vacation on the beach. No where can RA produce any of that. Especially after the complete snooze fest the last race was.
They should do a Midwest tour and on the way out there they should stop at Nashville, then go to Gateway, Kansas, Chicago street course and on July 4th weekend end it at road america. They should also get rid of Texas Allstar race so there will only be one Texas race
Road America is a Beautiful Facility, most drivers say it brings them joy when they go to Road America compared to other tracks. Plus, no matter where you go, there is never a bad spot to watch. I just hope they can fund it. I would also like to see the truck series there eventually, but no rush.
Cup belongs in Wisconsin. Its obviously the mecca of stockcar racing of the midwest. BUT, it needs an oval. Not a road course where you only see a quarter of the race if you're there in person. But at the same time, you aint gonna see anything at Chicago on a street course either
i love Road America, and have raced there in SCCA and vintage in a Porsche 906. i'm just sorry my buddy Scott Grave wont be there on the box for Chris Buescher. Scott started his path into racing after buying my 944 SCCA IT/S over 25 years ago when he was an engineer at Halliburton in Houston.
As I have said before, the Chicago Street course is a mistake. I have been to Road America several times and it is more deserving of that date. If it wants to waste a date on a street course in Chicago, the idea on when it is the hottest is going to be poor planning. They should take the street course to an area that doesn't have a track like New Orleans, Atlantic City or DC. Between the venues of Chicagoland, Road America, Iowa, Michigan, Gateway and of course the Brickyard, the Midwest has several places to enjoy racing. If any of these venue had a casino attached to it like Kansas, there would not be an issue to a date. In other series, Belle Isle is off the schedule for a road course in Detroit. Then again, maybe this is why NASCAR has a bug in their tail pipe since they could not have a race in a spot where their corporate Car makers are located
Road America is really what has drawn me back into the sport after COT ended. Other than that, my guy Daniel Suarez has been doing it well, it’s actually been fun to watch nascar nowadays.
a street race should be held in part with Indy car... someone to help flip the bill.... and maybe St. Petersburg or the Miami grand prix..... I think Justin is on top o things very happy for the way things are going over there...
I don't think Road America should be going anytime soon. It a road course with high speeds, tricky corners, and great for spectators. We should be more focused on getting Chicagoland back to replace the first Phoenix date.
I think when they repave Road America they need to improve the safety barriers and such so there could possibly be an F1 race at the track because it would honestly be a great f1 track
Went to road america on Sunday. Had a blast and didn’t even see half of the facility. It’s a massive place. Can’t wait to go back and explore. I hope nascar doesn’t eff this up like they did the single lug wheels and the numbers moving forward. I actually went to road america because I know it might not be there next year. And I Definitely am not going to a Chicago street race.
NASCAR wants to do a street course? Come to Toronto and get a market they are not in. Don't take a race from Road America. I am sure there is another date under performing *cough cough* Atlanta

The people watching now, forget that other drivers used to race the same, Earnhardt,Harvick,Stewart,Wallace, and so on... Ross is doing the same that most fans haven't seen for awhile, but.. Ross does do things a bit too far or early
Those who complained about the July 4th date being moved in 2021 forgot about where the 2020 race was held (A call most people questioned, myself included)
I have been slow to convert to the new super-aggressive, win at all costs even if it trashes half the field mentality in Nascar and all of the support series. I say go for it. Just play crash-em-up from now on, last car running wins. It's where they are heading. Or, they could actually start policing the way some drivers simply rip into people and wreck everything in sight and use the I was going for the win excuse.
Midwest has great potential. The playoff race at Kansas this year won’t have as many people as it did in May. They scheduled the race a hour before the week 1 game for the Chiefs. I honestly wish NASCAR had better people in charge of marketing and scheduling.
Don’t want to lose Road America. And if any other track should get the July 4th weekend date it should be Daytona and move Atlanta to the season finale.
If we've been proven wrong with the July 4 road America date and the clash...then why are so many people so against the Chicago Road Course instead of giving Nascar the benefit of the doubt? I understand it may suck to get rid of Road America but it's not even set in stone yet. Give it a chance and if it sucks then okay I understand the hate for it
if not a july 4th weekend race they can always move it to something else maybe switch world wide/gateway to a night race for the 4th of july weekend and make road america the weekend gateway is on.
Road America is awesome. I live ten minutes away. What an amazing experience at the track. It would be a big mistake to take it away for nascar. Maybe need to change this stage race at road courses and leave it for ovals. Nascar don’t be stupid. Stick with road America.

Personal opinion depends on how the pocono does this year with the nextgen. If it's a good race that can breath new life into the brickyard 400 returning to the oval. I believe nascar doesn't want to have 7 road/street courses.
In my opinion we shouldn't run at Daytona during the middle of Hurricane season, but also at the same time Daytona needs to ran on an important day that isn't too close the Daytona 500. That's why the 4th of July date worked so well for years and would continue to work.

Yes, but let's see what turnout looks like Saturday and Sunday. If we see a significant dropoff, then perhaps, but with the new car and Trackhouse my bets are it will be fairly crowded Again, associating the brand with a giant crowd is how you lure more fans, let alone in a place like a more remote part of Wisconsin. As a Wisconsin racing fan. Nascar coming to RA last year and me being able to go really made me a fan of nascar again. If they shut down RA after only 2 years. Like. They will lose me. And everyone here in Wisconsin!
I'm becoming of the thought process that if Nascar wants a street course they should be trying to do one as a doubleheader with Indycar instead of chasing the Chicago Street Course idea
Exactly! They can do a doubleheader at Long Beach, that's probably one of the best US street courses out there.
A street race in Chicago would not be very well received by the people of Chicago. People do not want Lake Shore Dr. tied up with a NASCAR race or any other kind of race.. Believe me.
@@elijahjp2158 primary INDYCAR fan here, cup car could barely stay on the course at road America idk if they could even fit through the hair pin at Long Beach
I feel the only thing he's done wrong is the Hamlin spin. He went 3 wide like lots of drivers did in the pack and it went wrong. His aggressive driving is a good change if pace. Is he all innocent, no he's made a few mistakes and at times a few overaggresive moves but his aggressiveness is good for the sport and he'll learn his aggressive limits soon.
Love Road America! It’s my home track. I’ll be there all weekend 🤘
As a resident of northeastern iowa and along with having one of my aunts working at the track. I would really enjoy them keeping Road America
Ideally I’d like Daytona to be July 4th weekend but Road America is good too
Saw Justin Marks once driving in a Trans Am race at Road Atlanta a couple years ago. He was in a fairly street looking #99 Coca Cola C6 Corvette, running a class or two down from the top.
Road America deserves a cup date
Petition to bring back the 4th of July Daytona race:
Heck. Yes.
Signed
Yes
No
Also, looking forward to watching Justin Marks race next weekend, I'll be at mid-ohio next week (home track)
Agree. A street race in Chicago is a mistake. Nobody in Chicago is talking a a street race. Where is NASCAR getting this idea?
If NASCAR is interested in a street course, would they consider replacing California race in the streets of Long Beach like indy cars do?
Road America is really what has drawn me back into the sport after COT ended. Other than that, my guy Daniel Suarez has been doing it well, it’s actually been fun to watch nascar nowadays.
Ross did it the hard way, the near impossible route. Easy to root for him.
a street race should be held in part with Indy car... someone to help flip the bill.... and maybe St. Petersburg or the Miami grand prix..... I think Justin is on top o things very happy for the way things are going over there...
I’ll be out there Sunday vlogging! If anyone catches me feel free to say hi!
Some of these tracks bring no fans unlike road America. To leave road America the money made has to be less. Just my opinion.
If there's a road track that should stay it's Road America. Road Atlanta would be nuts too.
Bring back Chicagoland Speedway & put that race on July 4th weekend.
Keep RA on the schedule and use a street course for the ASR if they really want one on the schedule. (Should be in Denver not Chicago).
I assume you are from Colorado?
Sometimes you ruffle some feathers and make people mad being aggressive but you also win a lot races!!! Ross didn't hit nobody, he didn't bump nobody, Ross knocked the hell out of and rubbed everybody and knocking the hell out of somebody and rubbing son that's Nascar racing!!!!
The people watching now, forget that other drivers used to race the same, Earnhardt,Harvick,Stewart,Wallace, and so on... Ross is doing the same that most fans haven't seen for awhile, but.. Ross does do things a bit too far or early
I love Road America. I'm glad Justin is racing again. I wish Jr would run a SRX race
Let be honest here there no track name more fitting for the Independence day race than Road America
I agree. With the word "America" in the title, this definitely is the greatest track to run on the 4th weekend.
headed to road america again this weekend just a short drive from green bay
Me and my family were planning on going to Road America since i live about 5-6 hours away from the track but gas prices came in and said no.
Justin Marks should run in the Project 91 car a few times, on road courses specifically
Those who complained about the July 4th date being moved in 2021 forgot about where the 2020 race was held
(A call most people questioned, myself included)
Going to my first NASCAR race at Road America on Sunday. Any advice for my family and I going to our first race?
Bring sunscreen, earplugs and folding chairs. And since you're on a road course, feel free to roam around to find different viewing angles.
@@dexterhochstetler3727 will do! Thanks
Keep Road America!!
If Road America loses its cup race it would be a shame. If you've ever been there you already know how special and unique it is.
Road America definitely deserves a spot just not the 4th July spot that belongs to daytona or Chicago
You think the weather in Daytona is bad this time of year? Just wait until the regular season finale happens.
Sorry I was really busy, but Road America should stay on the schedule
I say keep Road America on the schedule and forget about this street racing thing. Road America definitely deserves to be on the Cup schedule.
Midwest has great potential. The playoff race at Kansas this year won’t have as many people as it did in May. They scheduled the race a hour before the week 1 game for the Chiefs. I honestly wish NASCAR had better people in charge of marketing and scheduling.
@@johnhaas2523 I’m not saying they would, but once you find out I would try switch it if possible.
Don’t want to lose Road America. And if any other track should get the July 4th weekend date it should be Daytona and move Atlanta to the season finale.
Did you record anything at nashville
I think the street course would be a snoozed fest
I can see them dropping the Indy road course before Road America, Indy goes back to the oval race next season
Unfortunately, I can see it. Be nice to see how the new car handles it. It would be cool though if the Cup runs the oval and Xfinity does the road course.
@@dexterhochstetler3727 well they have already said they would like to do the Indy oval one year, road course the next, and then alternate from year to year between the layouts
I miss Daytona on July 4th. That's the 1 schedule change I dont like. Although weather was always an issue.
I live in Chicago. RA is far enough away that Nascar can have both the street race in the city, and the RA on the 4th. Don’t see why they can’t do both.
Personal opinion depends on how the pocono does this year with the nextgen. If it's a good race that can breath new life into the brickyard 400 returning to the oval. I believe nascar doesn't want to have 7 road/street courses.
What about brainard international in Minnesota
What I would prefer:
Keep Road America on the schedule.
Move Daytona back to the 4th of July.
Move Atlanta to the regular season finale.
@@johnhaas2523 A counter argument to the Florida weather thing. The time that they run Daytona at now is at the peak of hurricane season.
In my opinion we shouldn't run at Daytona during the middle of Hurricane season, but also at the same time Daytona needs to ran on an important day that isn't too close the Daytona 500. That's why the 4th of July date worked so well for years and would continue to work.
if they move July 4th back to daytona I will be done with Nascar they would become a joke they have hit a grand slam with Road America on the 4th July it prefct match . Daytona sucks it nothing but Wreck feast or Train plsu in a very stupid state too
@@BeautifulAngelBlossom So you'd just prefer we take all superspeedways off of the schedule? I can tell you now that's not gonna happen. The ratings they earn from superspeedways are too valuable in the eyes of the sport's sanctioning body.
Yes, but let's see what turnout looks like Saturday and Sunday. If we see a significant dropoff, then perhaps, but with the new car and Trackhouse my bets are it will be fairly crowded
Again, associating the brand with a giant crowd is how you lure more fans, let alone in a place like a more remote part of Wisconsin. Pulling Road America for that Street Course would make it unlikely that a crowd of that size would come back any time soon
I just don’t like the idea of completely ditching Road America (which is one of the if not the best road course on the schedule and is also a new tradition) and going to Chicago out of any other major city and spend tons of money on the event. I would love a street race but only if it replaces a track like Texas and it’s in a different city unlike Chicago being the 3rd most populated city in the country. I might be a little biased because I’m going to the race this weekend and it’s the closest track I live to unless you count Knoxville.
Have a friend like Justin Marks
i l be honest wasnt to bothered bout ross b4 this season, yet the kid has grown on me, he s fast, aggressive and consistant, and anyone who doesnt think he cnt win the championship is crazy cause he vwry well could !!!!
We will see
What’s for 2023 NCS season schedule race tracks looks like?
they should replace COTA or Sonoma with the Chicago street course
Long time NASCAR fan Live 25 min. from Downtown Chicago and Chicagoland. Forget the road course downtown. Bring back Chicagoland night race and keep Road America. This is a no brainer...
I agree. Chicagoland needs to be back on the NASCAR schedule.
How about street race a Belle Isle in Detroit IndyCar is leaving there. That way you do not have to touch road America and the track is all ready there.
Might slide over to mid Ohio & check out the trucks next wk, indycar there this wk!!! would love to see CUP AT MID OHIO!!! If loose RA Mid-Ohio b much better replacement than some lame azz street race that would b horrible!!!!
Road America 🇺🇸 baby
Seeing that it's only a hour from me yes road America should stay. Its bad enough our other track (Milwaukee mile) lost not only the nascar dates but also IndyCar 🤬
Agree with Justin marks the top guys in broken equipment last 10 years are mad cause they getting beat by guys because cars are somewhat more equal, when in last ten years they only had worry bout two other teams and your teammates beating you it’s probly aggravating it’s just good sign how new car is better best example is Michael McDowell competing for top 10s weekly most likely a win this week
Call me old school but i miss the Coke 400 at Daytona on saturday night in the weekend of or before the 4th. Just felt right but i am biased for the first 13 or 14 years i watched thats how it was. Or hell later on sunday afternoon start it at like 5. Im not saying Road America shouldnt stay on the schedule. But swap the dates. End the regular season on a road course.
A Daytona is waaaay to much of a wild card to cap off the season ender. Dont me wrong its always a good time but i just think its almost unfair to everyone to end the regular season there.
B. A roadcourse to end the regular season would show the vast amount of difference and skills you gotta have cause NASCAR changes tracks drastically.
I thought all the cars were the same, i thought that was the purpose of the next gen car. So how can someone have mid pack equipment anymore?
I've always liked Daytona on July 4th, but I like it as the regular season finale better. I still think a Superspeedway has to be on July 4th. I'm on team ATL
Road America needs to stay
Dropping RA would be a mistake after last year IMO. I don't really care though....road courses are the equivalent of off weeks for me.
You cant knock guys out of the way every week. Lol. Ross did good admitting he did wrong.
