Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3, called Naruto: Narutimate Hero 3 in Japan, introduces the 'Sasuke Retrieval Arc', a story arc that follows Sasuke's lust for power to kill his treasonous elder brother who, eventually leaves to pursue greater skill. Thus, Naruto along with four other members, give chase to reclaim the missing ninja while running into the immensely powerful Sound Ninja 4 that ultimately leads to Sasuke and Naruto coming to the border between lands: the Final Valley for one last battle.
In 'Ultimate Contest' mode, Naruto works his way through an all-inclusive battle tournament to become the ultimate ninja and topple all of the other fighters to claim his spot as number one of all shinobi.
