I am from Kerala and 66years old. I do all the household work in my flat . Both my sons are staying independently and happily with their families. Whenever they visit us we all have a great time together. I feel it is such a big joke to see the saasuma sitting and ordering the bahu around . Cant she make her own cup of chai? Instead of complaining about her ill health she should make herself active. With her experience in kitchen she should at least give a helping hand .It will create such goodwill and peace at home.

Same here. I am 66 years old. I do all my house work . I have just one Robot vac n mop to help me out. I own several apartments abd have to take care of that too like plumbing ,electrical repairs etc I even clean my toilets . Was clothes by hand sometimes as I enjoy washing by hand. I have a washing machine too. I have been live alone since the last ten years. I do outside work too like banks etc. I go for walks and have a number of friends . My two married daughter's stay away from me. One is in the USA. Another in Poona. I have three grandkids. I have worked as Asst manager in a reputed insurance company.
This is North india .50 years back in keral, the same cistern goings-on, but now things are different after 50 years north indians will do that.
Myself 54 year lady having two amazing daughter in laws request all the people esp mothers and married sons, please try to understand bahu or wives . They have emotions too. They need love too . Instead of blaming her for not giving you respect and snatching sons from their mothers, try earning respect then no one one in the family will be unhappy. Don't try to create a rift between beta and bahu . You will gain nothing except pain, loneliness and insecurity.

I might sound wrong but we should concentrate on one thing at a time. It doesn't matter whether you're studying 2 hours or 10 hours. The main point is that there should be no distraction during study time. I can understand that she is a housewife but if wife always accept the family member's orders then definitely she can never become financially independent.

.हमारे यहाॅ घरमे बहू आनेपर सास यकायक बूढी हो जाती है ,घुटनेमे दर्द होने लगता है.एक जगह बैठी रहने लगती है. उमर कितनी होती है ?50 --55 ..ये घूमने फिरनेकी, exercise करनेकी, काम करनेकी,उमर होती है, नाकी पलंगपे लेटे रहनेकी , आराम फर्मानेकी.. बहू आयी है,तो वही करेगी, मै उससे सेवा करवाऊंगी, यह सोच ही गलत है.जहाॅतक हो सके फिट रहना चाहिये, active रहना चाहिये.
