Everyone copied Elgin Baylor from kids on the street to people entering the nba, you could see yourself learning the moves that Elgin brought to the game! The exception to the rule was a certain player like wilt chamberlain who had his own arsenal of play that made him dominate, but unlikely to be copied except for his fade-away, even MJ wanted that in his game! But it doesn't take away Elgin Baylor’s greatest strength his creativity and genius to make a basketball doing anything he wanted on the court, half the shotmakers of nba history wouldn't exist without him!
One of the things that stands out to me was that Elgin was essentially the first finesse player, really. Probably no Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, no Dr. J, no Walter Davis, no Michael Jordan without the advent of Baylor. Not only was he flashy finesse player though, but the inventiveness he applied to basketball only made playing more complex and therefore made him harder to defend against.
This man gets very little credit for being a super star. He was Jordan before Jordan. These player's could not palm the ball the way these so called modern player's do now. If they could of palmed the ball. The game would of changed year's ago. The old game had more restrictions than this modern gimmick game. Nobody thinks these old head's could play this gimmick game. I think a lot of these modern guys couldn't play the old school game. With this watered down program forced on us with Great marketing & promotions. There not that many great player's in today's NBA & foreign player's with better fundamentals are taking over. Who won the last 3 or 4 Mvp' 4:03 s a foreign player. 😢
He’s so smooth as well
The most underrated player in the history of the league in my opinion. His career numbers are insane.
2:04 Elginstep

Johnny Green was dunking before Elgin, but Elgin invented hang time!
This guy was set the way for Charles Barkley. Great player with zero championships.
He technically won a championship in 1972
