Yep, I remember reading conservative/Republican sites like FreeRepublic at the time of McCain’s concession (and then Romney’s) and seeing the constant and persistent whining about how the elections were “rigged” and they shouldn’t have admitted the loss. I had a lengthy political discourse on immigration with Senator McCain on more than one occasion. Even though I disagreed with him on 66% of the issues, his humanity was awe inspiring, and his sincerity was never in doubt. I have never voted Republican, but if he still was around I would. I consider him a great American. His signed picture has the highest point of prominence on our law firm's wall. Regardless of ones' political inclination, no Amercian can doubt his candor and earnest patriotism.
Not only did McCain speak well about Obama, but he defended him even when his own supporters booed him. The sportsmanship and dignity this man had were unbelievable! I'm afraid this was the last era of decency for candidates.

This is the way politicians should be acting. With class and respect. Obama and McCain were lucky to have a good relationship, and they did not become enemies because of this election. No matter how you felt about these men, you have to admire and respect how civil and respectful they were with each other. John McCain was exactly what we need today, a decent, kind upstanding man. Even if people did not agree with his vote on Obamacare, he got up from his hospital bed and voted his conscience. He did not bluster, nor rail about what he did. He voted his mind, what he felt was best for people who needed help. If it was not for VA, or Obamacare I could not afford to get medical help in America. The insurance companies have made it clear who they work for, and it's not us.

Even though I disagreed with him on 66% of the issues, his humanity was awe inspiring, and his sincerity was never in doubt. I have never voted Republican, but if he still was around I would. I consider him a great American. His signed picture has the highest point of prominence on our law firm's wall. Regardless of ones' political inclination, no Amercian can doubt his candor and earnest patriotism.

My parents had the honor of meeting him years ago said he was a kind man who preferred not to talk politics over lunch but instead to talk about other things. He had an air around him that made you feel happy just to be in his presence. Rest In Peace, senator.

John McCain was exactly what we need today, a decent, kind upstanding man. Even if people did not agree with his vote on Obamacare, he got up from his hospital bed and voted his conscience. He did not bluster, nor rail about what he did. He voted his mind, what he felt was best for people who needed help. If it was not for VA, or Obamacare I could not afford to get medical help in America. The insurance companies have made it clear who they work for, and it's not us.
Many days it feels like John McCain was the last true Republican. Gone are the days of integrity, decency, dignity, and honesty. No wonder Donald Trump hated him. America will fail with Trump, and they will deserve it.
