I have a pretty big part in my school Shrek musical, but I was so happy when they asked me to be a Duloc dancer (which is basically the people who didn’t get singing parts). So fun!
When I was in second grade, I asked why they hesitated before they said “face”. If I remember correctly, my mom said something about hesitating before saying body parts. Now, finally, I understand why they paused!
No, it's actually because they said, "Please keep off on the grass, shine your shoes, wipe your-" and they were about to say a$$ but then said, "face." that's actually the real reason. I also thought it was pretty funny.
When he says “Once upon a time this place was infested freaks on every corner I had them all arrested!” The most Karen thing to say 😂 this is the Karen theme song!
It’s just insane to me how he can sing like that and keep a steady sound when he’s literally running on his knees. His breath control is absolutely incredible.
@meowool nope, i was actually lucky enough to get a backstage pass and meet the cast, Chris showed me that they are cushioned with memory foam so they fit him perfectly. and he has to do a half hour or more leg exercise so he doesnt pull anything

I'm pretty sure they got a really tall dude and he's on his knees covered by the cape, with fake legs over black pants that aren't fully attached to make the movement a little more realistic, and then really shorts actors for all the dancers
There's actually an article about this I read after I watched this the first time. They had to create like.. "knee pad boots" so to speak. He is on his knees the entire time, so they had to find a way for him to move around and dance on his knees night by night and not completely ruin his knees lol I had to look it up, I was so impressed by his performance
I was so lucky to get far quad in the play because, I swear, everyone was complementing me like the parents, my friends, and even the teachers, and probably got more complements then even shrek! And everyone was laughing when I got on my knees! It was an amazing experience :)
I played a duloc dancer (among other roles) in our high school production of shrek and it was an intense routine to learn! I felt like one of Abby Lee Miller's dancers on Dance Moms 😂
I don't know why, but when i saw those Duloc dancers, i start to laugh like a little kid and it gets harder when i saw that little girl at 0:35 ....Hahahahahha...!! Yeaayy..
This definitely isn't my favourite musical but I want more people to acknowledge how farquaad does the whole musical on his knees, absolute king
spot on. with the costume AND the leg handling, AND the singing and the acting, this requires talent -and- fortitude
i’m playing farquaad in our schools musical and it is awful😭

How he can sing so powerfully like that without full posture, is incredible!
The funny thing is Chris Sieber's like 6 feet tall. XD
Not only that, but he's also the tallest in the cast lol

It’s pretty ironic given that his character is a dwarf
It's missing the "and no one's gonna bring me down" part, but still amazing
thats in the reprise
yeah because it’s after this part of the song
That’s a different song lol.
That was for the Tony Awards where they mashed that from a later part
I know in my school I had to do that noone’s gonna bring down
This is low-key actually a really good song, the play itself is OK, has a good sense of humor. The cast was great.
I have a pretty big part in my school Shrek musical, but I was so happy when they asked me to be a Duloc dancer (which is basically the people who didn’t get singing parts). So fun!

God Lord Farquaad is so camp in the musical

Think of Faarquad! He's on his knees the entire show!

I can't believe he does the entire s how on his knees, holy moly.
He actually has these MASSIVE knee pads that also help.
This is my favorite song in the play, and arguably the song with the best choreography.
Me and my drama group are practicing this for regionals, I can't wait it will be awesome!
i got cast as the dragon, and i’m very excited because forever is my favorite song in the show, but this is definitely my favorite dance number.
This is one of the most iconic performances in musical history
this is delightful! I LOVE IT!!!
You think maybe he’s compensating for something?
What if they did the one from Scared Shrekless that would be amazing 😂
Why is this song so catchy?
Chris Sieber is the definition of musical theatre!
I like how the opening choreography is supposed to mimic the movement of the wooden clockwork puppets in the film.
Got this part a few days ago. Can’t wait to perform this song!
I played a duloc dancer (among other roles) in our high school production of shrek and it was an intense routine to learn! I felt like one of Abby Lee Miller's dancers on Dance Moms 😂
i’m so hyper fixated on this song but i’m shrek in our production😭
I dunno why but I’m in love with this song 😭😂😭
lol. He has a regular sized head, a big muscular upper body and tiny little legs. XD
1:38 that dude looked like he just shit himself.
i got callbacked for him fingers crossed
The costuming puppetry in this show is just like... this is why I love theatre, tbh.
i cant believe how good this looks haha!
we’re doing this for musical in high school this year and i’m one of the duloc dancers :))) love this dance
0:33 my biggest flex is that my community theatre did this show and I was this character 😩🔥🔥🔥
I’m a duloc dancer in a play I’m doing I have practice in morning and dress practice in evening ahhhhh
thank goodness im Pinocchio. if I was lord farquadd i would have to get knee surgery after-

this should have so many more views! It's clever and very funny! thanks for uploading! :)
Ha- at 3:10 you can see Farquad's real feet under the cape!
When she goes 'LOOOOOOOOOORRD....' my brother yelled 'VOLDEMORT!' (?spelling?)
love this ! thanks for posting !!
I wanted the part of farquaad but I got dwarf instead
“HIII HOOOOH”
At Least Ur His DAD
Using my grandma phone me and friend were watching abs in this song were laghing soo hard
it think that may be a metaphor for how popular his empire will be.
i believe they already have, our theatre group was planning on doing it 2 years ago, but postponed it to this year.
I just love musicals!
is it so hard to have a little person be Farquad? This man is freakin amazing but staying on his knees sound painful
Knee pads
Imagine having to walk on your knees for the whole show.
they really meant wipe your ass😂
that is so good
the costumes must've been quite uncomfortable for the Duloc dancers
I thought it was a tough crowd the whole time. I didn’t realize there wasn’t an audience.
REALLY??
There was an audience they’re just silenced, if you find the full musical on TH-cam you can hear them
I recently learned that in the fall my school is performing this musical, and have since wanted to audition for Farquad.....
In the wedding scene im dwarf and being on my knees for 10 minutes is hard I still have no idea how someone does this for an hour +
I really liked what I could hear
Holy ravioli, thanks for the upload!
Love this. So funny.
that must be so difficult for him to do if he's on his knees :(
Farquad is now my dream performance! I wanna do that!
😂 Lord Farqaud is the Original Karen 😂
Gonna be auditioning for this soon, im so nervous
ok i know its been a year but how did it go
he is! hes around 4 foot something on his knees.
My school is piloting shrek Jr. haha, i get to be the first ever Lord Farquadd Jr. Also, the people from broadway are coming to see it as well as MTI.
I love this song!
I actually just played this role. It was very demanding, but a great time!
Dono how I ended up here but this dude did a whole play on his knees bro. lol

that face on the bottom of the screen at :59!
I have the role of Lord Farquaad this year at my school, I’m so excited to sing this in April ✨
At my theatre we did Shrek and the GIRL who played farquad was so funny cause she would stand back stand and her Farquad feet would just dangle!
they might release the rights to the musical for schools to perform i hope they do it would be so awsome to do this at school :D
Omg they're so talented
