Hi, I just bought a Halmatic 30, and would like to know how your wind vane steering is set up and how your finding it, also I appear to have an issue with the breather on fuel tank, any advice much appreciated, Kind regards, John
Hi John The hydrovane is situated just to starboard of the rudder. It's a fabulous piece of kit once you get offshore as the wind can be flukey around the coast and you'll be up and down making adjustments. Can't help you with the breather pipe, other than I had to get the tank out to repair a leak and found the boat was built around it and had to cut away some of the surrounding structure (1/2 inch). Enjoy your Halmatic. It won't be the fastest boat around but when it gets tough out there you wouldn't want to be on anything else.
What are the chances...this vid just popped up on my watch list. I remember you from Trevor Halls yard, the Halmatic is "Nomad"?
